    I always very much appreciate your open wheel videos, particularly your advice and suggestions for open wheel/F1 progression. IRacing seems to be loaded with NASCAR/Oval information, but your channel hits those of us that want to succeed in open wheel. Thanks so much for your open wheel content. I’m hoping to see more for those of us just beginning our journey.

      Hi Johan. Thanks for the kind words. We've got a big list of planned videos including plenty of open wheel ones. Thanks for your support.

    How long should one stay in the ole vee before making the jump

      As soon as you are regularly finishing races with minimal off tracks and no collisions then I'd be moving on up. It really is down to the individual and your rate of development.
      Also since that video, the Formula Ford came out. I'd definitely move into that car.

    So i know iracing is expensive but if i go for only the ones you recomended in this video, how much do you think ill have to spend? :)

      Hi Tor. Each car is $11.95 (no regional pricing structure either sadly) so buying a car at each level including the Mercedes W12 would be $47.80 minus what ever discount is applied.
      But, this week they have announced the FR2.0 will be withdrawn at the beginning of next season. So don't buy that.
      I should make a new video really but right now, I would buy the IR04 for D License and just keep racing it. With the FR2.0 being withdrawn, the FR3.5 and F3 being quite old as well and the Lotus 79 moving to C license, the situation feels quite different to 10 months ago. I think we are going to see a new F2 and F3 be released within 2 seasons which will be much more logical to race.
      So for now, the cheap option is you can use the free Mazda MX5 for 4 races to get your Minimum Race Participation to qualify for your C license. And I think you can repeat that for the B license as well if you look around at the series options.
      Hold on for the new cars to be released. The IR04 is a good car. Big grids, bit crashy but will teach you a lot.

      @@LimitofAdhesion Okay thanks alot, just moved out from my parentes so I dont have my setup atm, guess that is good so i dont have to just sit and wait for the new cars.
      Also I would love to ask this, ive mainly played the f1 games, been doing that since 2013, but i play f1 without any tc and I dont know if you play it but like the car can spin out easy, and ive played some ACC but the f1 cars there is not the same, like I can go hard and the car will not spin out as easy, (I know that the f1 games is more like an arcade and not close to real life) if i can handel the car good in the f1 games do you think i will have it easyer in iracing?
      Sorry for the long as question lol

      @LimitofAdhesion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think if you've practiced throttle modulation and understand that trying to accelerate too hard while turning will make you spin then you'll do fine. Hardest thing for me is trusting all that downforce!

    which parts of the video do u believe are outdated to this day?

    • @LimitofAdhesion
      @LimitofAdhesion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rookies. I'd recommend MX5 and Formula Ford instead of the Vee but that's personal preference.
      D License - I'd go for the F4. Formula Ford is still a good option at this level but experiencing downforce is important so the F4 is probably the one to go for.
      C License - Still the F3. It's my favourite open wheel car. But you can race the W13 at the weekends in the Grand Prix tour.
      B License - FR3.5 is the only option now but be wary as I'm convinced it will be replaced within the next 6 months.
      Hope that helps!

      @@LimitofAdhesion I didnt specify that my career path is OpenWheel but somehow you got it and this is exactly the answer I was looking for XD
      I went with Formula Vee tho (im in my first season, in fact just ended first week), did 8 races and won 3, so happy c;
      I'll see if next season I do another Formula Vee season or go for the Formula Ford as its free as well. I already im able to be elected for D class but still not in a rush, want to learn the foundations of each division as much as possible (ofc without having to drive every single possible car of each division duh xd)
      EDIT: Also, before going to F4 I will try MX5, probably will do that next season instead of FF

    • @LimitofAdhesion
      @LimitofAdhesion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you're doing well with the Vee. Congratulations on the wins. The Formula Ford is a whole different level as it is so quick but without wings. I love it but it killed my SR and iRating! We will have a tips video on it in the not too distant future.
      Sounds like you're taking your time and enjoying the racing before looking to progress. Great idea.

      @@LimitofAdhesion Yeah, Im 22yo and Ive never been into racing but all of the sudden I became interested in F1, GoKarting and SimRacing 6 months ago with no canon event whatsoever, even have won a couple GoKart races! I am using iRacing as a tool to further develop my GoKarting skills and hey... Im already paying for this game, might as well enjoy it and I wont enjoy it if I race like some ppl Ive seen on reddit saying that they "lost their IR and SR because races are unfair because they race without knowing the track and their opponents practice for hours", delusional torpedo players -_- But yeah, I will subscribe to your channel to keep updated with your videos :)
