90s Sailor Moon English Dub Full DVD Sets Collection

- Hey everyone it's been a long long time!
I have been waiting essentially 10 years to post this video. My set is a mix of the MVM Sailor Moon UK release and the Pioneer release as well. These box sets are no longer released anywhere and they were not popular selling products I am for sure having a Sailor Moon marathon sometime soon. Moonie for life lol.
I don't know if I am ready to get back into my regular youtube posting again, but it's not to say I was ever regularly posting either haha. I know vertical is not a regular youtube format either but meh, whatever.
I post way more frequently on my other handles, most notably Instagram Reels. I am however not going to tell you to subscribe because I am really not frequent enough currently for that. Sorry lol

I am actually planning on doing a footage review of the first two boxset releases. Keep in my Viz media wins by far in that category
UK Moonie here !! I also have the mvm UK box sets and my second series came like that with vol 2 in a black case !
Something else you should know is that they edited the series even more with this dvd release compared to the North American dvds, so for example they heavily edited Amy’s first episode to the series, as the monster for that episode (I’m guessing) was deemed too violent maybe? But that’s why I’ve been gradually collecting the American releases too so I can watch them less edited
Oh, that's a really interesting fact! I watched that episode awhile back but I didn't notice a huge difference because I honestly forgot what that episode was life for the US release
Hi there. I have those two UK boxsets too and whatever you do, please do NOT sell them ahah. They're the definition of a holy grail. The amount of Americans fans has messaged me, asking about them and of course leaving me "hate comments" saying they are not official or bootleg. Yes, I know, the dic dub season 1&2 was sold in individual volumes... IN AMERICA! No hate and I love America but those nasty comments it's a classic case of "Americans thinking the world revolves around them". These sets are from the UK. A lot of 🤦♂️ in my part. Haha I can't believe I got both for only £50GBP. I'm so happy to have them 😊 it's a shame they went bankrupt and never released season 3&4 😢 only recently I bought that movie dream set and just like yours, mine is like new condition.
OMG I will never sell them! I could not! I bought a special DVD player just so I could watch them haha.
It's interesting how you mention people tell you they were not an "official" release because they are haha. I purchased mine from someone who lived in the UK so that's how I found out about this release. How did you only get them for 50 pounds? I am glad you also got a new set, I wish there were rereleases of the original sailor moon from the 90s with the original voice actors. The quality would be amazing!

@@SarahsSpareCorner i do have both the S & SuperS dvd boxset from Pioneer too but with sailor stars... I had a thought. The only way to an official dvd with English subtitles is to import them from Argentina and Chile. Both countries had an official sailor stars in dvd volumes, total of 10, its had the Japanese dub with English subs, and the Latin Spanish dub too. My collector in me, really want them, I was this close too. I bought the whole set a few years ago but unfortunately they got lost in the mail 😭 USPS couldn't find them even with the tracking number. I was so mad when that happened. I tried to collect them individually but I was only able to collect 4 of the 10. These volumes only came out monthly in a magazine and you get a dvd as a freebie. Or I could just get the dvd sets from Viz media lol 😆 it's just not the same. So a bootleg boxset I have will do for now haha.

You got me searching for those MVM outer boxes to put my U.S. DiC DVD’s in just to keep the nice and neat as they were only released as 14 individual disc here in the u.s.
do you have both seasons or just one?

What would you say the quality is like? I am currently going through the MVM versions and I have some thoughts ☕️
@@SarahsSpareCorner the U.S. looks like they just took the vhs masters or the tv masters and slapped them on disk with no work, so their exactly as I remember watching them weekday mornings

I have the S collection minus the box. Bought it at vintage stock for 90 dollars.
what can you say about its quality? I am currently going through the series right now and I am going through the first season first
@@SarahsSpareCorner It's okay. I never seen this one. I've only seen season 1, and little bit of two.

@@SarahsSpareCornerYeah, I caught some of it when it was on the WB. Work, and school kept me from catching up. I found seasons 1&2 of the DIC dub sealed off Ebay couple months ago.
I have the same uk mvm box sets and the black and clear colour of the cases matches yours so I'm guessing they're official and released like that. I always thought it was a transplant too.

So, the box sets came in DVD mixed match cases?
@@SarahsSpareCorner How it worked was, MVM released each disc individually. You'd buy volume one which came with the empty box and then you'd buy each DVD as they came out and filled the boxes that way. I assume this is what happened with your purple box hence the mismatched cases. Later on down the line they did release complete box sets of each. I have both of them. The season one blue one has all black cases and the purple season 2 box has all clear cases.
That is very interesting. I have not heard this before. I guess they were expecting profit from doing the individual releases
