It’s a very powerful emotion and can drive people (elves in this case) to do really nasty things. The persecution of the elves in the world of the Witcher and their reaction to it just mirrors what certain groups of people have actually done in the face of the same.

Also Yarpen Zigrin as I remember in Sword of Destiny said something similiar or it was more about assimilation. In the first game it was Zoltan Chivay who told reference which you quoted, more or less accurately. It's funny that prey turns into hunter, no better than poacher himself.

What I myself particularly admire about this soundtrack is that for me it has a feeling of finality to it, somehow.
As if saying: the scoiatael know that they’re not going to win. They know it’s done. It’s over for them, they’ve lost and will die out. But in the name of absolute *hate*, the last of them stay on their feet just for the chance to laugh at you as they see your children die in a fire.
I don't particularly like the Scoia'Tael but damn their art is badass.

I love this style of elves, feral, violent, without mercy but still graceful, reminds me of the wood elves from Warhammer Fantasy
I love how brutal and filthy the Scoia'tael seem here instead of the usual wavy wavy bs I tend to dislike about elves in most other cases
well, they are dying race, and they do not going without fight, all the brutal and filthy it gets
The Elves and Dwarves are oppressed races in the Witcher universe so it definitely fits the theme
Well in most fantasy world. Elves are like the premium version of humans. They're "superior" and stuff
Yea I love CD project reds elves but I don't like how feminine other franchises make the elven men.

It's a real shame for me cause I really like The Witcher and I really like these animated cards, but I really don't like the playstyle of Gwent XD
I really love the elves in the Witcher universe. They are portrayed as much more independent and complicated beings than in a lot of fantasy settings. And it may be my American roots but I can’t help but notice a parallel with the Scoia'tael and Native American Comanches and Apaches who were known for their insurgence against the Western power invading their land which just makes me respect the elves more.

weren't elves the invaders tho?, they came from another world, humans dwarves gnomes existed before the elves came, though humans did come from another continent.

the conjunction displaced many folk and creatures. Humans and Dwarves were placed in the world of Elves and started what we do best: overpowering them.
Scoia'tael: One may despise both their means and ends, but nobody can question their spirit.
I am not a massive elf fan, but the Scoia'tael have subvert my expectations. They are as cruel and barbaric as the worst of orc clans from other worlds.

6:21 is the best of these IMO. They’re all good, but 6:21 shows the female elven archer fighting as a partisan, fighters that use ambushes and surprise as their tactics, and the scoia’tael are definitely partisans.
Now we will see who weak!

Despite their brutality, 3:00 we can see here one of them refuses to kill the wounded.
that's yaevinn and as i remember he killed some of the wounded soldiers in the tent and then he stopped massacring them when he found out that some of those wounded soldiers belonged to the nilfgaardian army as well

the 3rd game. It has 1 flaw in my mind. The Scoia'tael were left on the sidelines. As a gwent faction, a sidequest at best. Considering how big they were in the books and previous games, I always wished for a Scoia'tael DLC.

I wish there was one of these gwent card + music compilations for every faction. I could watch this all day. Also, anybody know how they did the animation? It doesn't look like real 3D.
maybe it's very complicated 2d. You can watch some James Baxter fragments of "The beauty and the Beast ", it really looks like 3D
