What does the lyrics mean? Like, whats the story? I didnt play the game, The music is beautiful but I dont understand its meaning
This is a highly complex song, but my interpretation goes as follows:
The character this theme belongs to lives in a city they never got out of, and so they live by the ideals of the city's society: its rules, its culture; it all builds this main character's story. They also feel confined to this city and obligated to follow every order that is given to live by their standards. The final line perpetuates the confinement by sealing that the main character's memory is locked by the fact they know the city bit by bit, by analogy through memorizing the numbers of "e", they know all about the city. The glitches in the visuals constitute their mind breaking as a result of no mental freedom.
you're close. it follows the story of a character named Yan in the Index Syndicate. As a messenger, his job is to deliver prescripts, quite literally the will of the city. Being skeptical, he writes his own to rebel. But, it turns out he was merely complying with the city's will, as the other index members get a prescript to follow all delivered by messenger yan. Yan then gets a prescript to go meet one of the weavers, and learns that his free will was only predetermined by the city, and ends up succumbing to his despair. Play library of ruina.@@TheBrother34
