Both makers are nailing it. Drove a 308GT today. Was a delight. So quiet. Smooth. Quick. Gripped tight roads in the Perthshire countryside. Looked great. My 2008 has been a super car too. All as above and reliable. The Renault E range all looks great too. The ICE cars leave me a bit cold though. Allez!
You are quoting the wrong figures for the Renault... Charging is 130Kw on the small battery but 150Kw on the Long Range larger battery in the Iconic that you are driving. It also achieves just under 8s for 0-60. I have had one since July 2024 in the UK and warm weather I usually see 365 real world mileage at 100% charge. So far, it has been excellent, some inexpensive covers off the internet protect the seats well and actually look good
Just got the Scenic and did a near 600 mile range test. Very impressed, coming from 6 year Tesla ownership. Long Range scenic is 7.9s to 62. Times given here were for smaller battery version not this one. Also quoted wrong charging figures! Come on guys!
Looks like the plan for the new Stellantis platform to be adaptable and sit under larger cars than the 3008 has compromised its weight a bit and left it heavier than it maybe needed to be. Even allowing for a (not even the biggest) battery 2100kg is pretty lardy. The Renault is around 1850kg in its bigger 87Kwh form so shows it can be done.
A valid observation... though, once you're up to a 200+ mile range in an EV, you don't really have to "consider how far a full tank would take us" anyway. You see, all those anti-EV gripes about "my diesel Audi can do 600 miles on a tank" are just pointless, simply because no one EVER drives 600 miles from full to empty in one journey - they'll actually drive for 3-4 hours / 200ish miles then stop for a break... have something to eat... drink... go to the bathroom... catch up on emails / socials etc etc But, instead of leaving your diesel Audi sat idle in the car park for 30 minutes, an EV would be plugged in to a rapid charge point, topping back up ready for the next 3-4 hour slog. It's just a different way of doing things, that's all... 🙂
I prefer the Peugeot. The looks and interior are much more up my street. The acceleration figures are also misleading. From a standstill it eases power in but when on the move the acceleration is more than enough. The range doesn’t struggle either.
The Peugeot only has a "first impression wow factor" - but once you spend some time in it that feeling fades in the e-3008 whilst the Scenic grows on you. The same is valid for their drive - I doubt Vicky has explored all the various settings in the Scenic, there's three options for the steering alone. The Scenic is 100% the winner - far lighter car and it feels noticeably more nimble compared to a wallowing e-3008.
The Renault is a handsome-looking SUV thing, especially in Alpine guides. Think the Peugeot had a great seller with the last 3008 and got a little too carried away trying to keep the customers and overdid the styling. I like its look however I think it does impact its practicality and drive feel. They have done great with their interiors on recent models, great use of materials and layout of dash etc, I do prefer the use of Google and buttons though.
After two test drives, I’ve noticed that an important issue is consistently missing from your reviews - the poor quality of the rear camera. It’s a crucial feature for many drivers, yet it seems to be overlooked. Why is this never addressed?
It is the Vauxhall Grandland that is interesting to compare with, as it is better... than the Peugeot, different steering and suspension and has other similarities to Renault, how big is the difference to the Scenic?
I find it odd that car manufacturers are/ will get fined for not meeting manufacturing/ sales targets of EV’s and yet they bring out really expensive electric cars that few will buy apart from fleet sales. In general cars are now so much more expensive than they were even 3 years ago and I am sure this cannot all be laid on the door of Covid and Ukraine/ Russia. Surely all these expensive cars is now self defeating as people can now barely afford to buy them. Pretty sure poor old UK is one of the few countries to have no incentives to buy EV’s too.
50 grand for a 3008. Jeezo. Depreciation likely to be this car's downfall because I can't see the market for it. The budget conscious are likely to go for something like the Elroq which is similar sized, the additional EU tariffs on Chinese imports with have no affect, the badge snobs ain't going to swap their BMW for a Peugeot and even the most die hard French nationalist would go for the Renault. If there are good deals finance deals to be had on the 3008, it means they must be buying it at massive discount from Peugeot.
Anyone who pays over £40k for one of these new is a complete fool. They’ll be £30k with a few grand on the clock - just so overpriced it’s laughable. Renault not immune from this, but Peugeot (and all Stellantis cars) list prices are fantasy.
I think the Elroq will be far more popular for Renault. I think the Peugeot is a terrible design personally ;I have a 3008 currently and it is a good car- but this new design is box like , heavy and the interior design too appliance-like.There is definitely a wave of new EV cars appearing and in two years time I expect both of these models to be around the £25k or maybe even £20k mark. Manufacturers are really relying on people having a lease deal these days-even though they are terrible value. I think in two years there will be a surge of people converting to EV ; most people I know are holding off at the moment ; put off by price and not wanting to be pioneers!.
Over designed and the definition of ugly. Overpriced and About as enviromentalky friendly as a tractor. . A lesson in how to gift your market share to the Chinese.
@@Nick-ct1ww read a bit more into electric vehicles, instead of the nonsense spread by right wing media and you will find actually a car powered by solar and wind power makes more sense than constantly digging up fossil fuel, a car constantly polluting the planet throughout the life that is the petrol car.

Now that’s something you can’t say about these two - I’ve seen both in the flesh and they’re nothing like each other. The Pug looks much bigger in real life (even though it’s not that much), but the Scenic is bigger inside (go figure!).
Renault is my new favourite French Brand. Its electric cars are done really well.
Physical climate controls ❤❤❤
“Relentlessly mediocre” is a phrase only Vicky could deliver so well - spot on 👏. Made me chuckle too!
Brilliant line indeed
Scenic definitely the winer here.
Vicky great video 😊❤
Thanks for this!❤
Renault all day for me..the Android/google infotaiment is so easy clever+ fysical buttums to👍
The Renault Is my favourite

I just said the same thing.
I am very tempted. Can I ask is the price she gave correct?
@@shaywhelan1 Check Renault. I lease through work scheme
Excellent review from my favourite reviewer..no nonsense, just tells it how it is.. thank you Vicky.
Good objective advice Vicky.

Says everything when physical climate controls are a massive plus , today's 🚗 😂😂😂😂🎉

Vicky 👍
We never before had to consider how far a full tank would take us.
I wonder what the reaction would have been had we had a choice of fuel tank size.

It is about time there was somewhere sensible with easy access for the cables.
The last thing you need it to empty the boot to get to the cables.

The Scenic charges at 150kW not 130. And the Scenic is 7.9 secs 0 to 60, not 8.6 You even got the HP wrong . This is basic stuff.

you can tell the same person designed the two cars after the first few seconds of the video

Was the camera lens dirty or is this some sort of artsy fartsy foglike effect? Either way, it's minging.

Doesn't the Stellantis Peugeot new Warranty blow the Renault out of the water?
I really like the Renault. The Peugeot is out of my price range now. By the way, does the Renault have the same alloys as the very cool Peugeot 408?
130kw is on the base model for Renault.

Renault is actually 150 kw charging🙄
The Scenic is much better. The 3008 is cramped. If you love the Peugeot, the bigger 5008 is the Peugeot to have.
