    Going to the dr on monday I saw next to the bins a box of tamiya cars. On my way back I opened the box and the car is there and ended up being a mad bull. Esc, receiver, servo and 2 batteries 7.2 nicd. the whole thing was there. Next to it another box.... a futaba 2ch controller with another servo inside the box. Sadly I dont have any charger for old style tamiya connector and my charger only work of the batteries are connected also with the balance cable. Ended up searching on my drawers and found a hobbywing quicrun 1080, and x3 3s lipos, extra receiver for my flysky gt5 and after some minor adjustments on the steering servo the car runs quite well and fast for a crawler style esc. Very bouncy but fun to drive. Its pretty much stock. So the bearings and some sort of suspension/dampening solution will be next and then ready to roll. Its amazing how someones rubbish can be someone else's gold. I loved my little find

      Awesome! That sounds like an original release. Lucky find.

    So i did something similar to my Mad Bull and today was the first time I actually ran it on the new brushless motor .. I installed a 120A ESC with 5200KV motor combo on a 3S LiPo, using original receiver and servo. It was an extremely fun 5 minute drive until it broke what seems to be gears, which was kind of expected honestly. Have you by any chance found ready to install metal gears for this buggy? I will disassemble it tonight and see if universal ones can fit.. fingers crossed.

      Never found metal gears, but mine are fine. I think 3s might have destroyed yours. 😂 Get some new plastic/nylon gears and dial down the punch on your esc… and maybe stick to 2s.

      @@Triggered-RC I love this answer.. :D I "borrowed" a friend's 3s until my 2s arrives in the post.... so now I will freely blame my friend for destroying my gearbox. :D :D Will try on 60% esc and 2s see if it's fun.. once the new gears arrive :D

      @@xmikomix Good idea! Lol But yeah, punch rips apart gear boxes. If you can find them, try putting some foams in the tires. I find it makes the Mad Bill much more planted with that little bit of extra weight. Honestly, after upgrading it, it’s a helluva 2x4 truggy.

      @@Triggered-RC Those 5 minutes i had with it today brought back my joy of owning it! It was just a shelf trophy for years. Now i might actually have some fun with it. (It is also my first proper RC that I try to modify, only done suspension and weights to crawlers previously)

    I'm normally not a big fan of solid axles on a RC but this seems to work pretty well. It seems to track pretty straight for a 2wd. With those buggy tires on the front it was almost pulling off a standing backflip 😁 🤘

    • @Triggered-RC
      @Triggered-RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. It works very well. The upgrades added a bit of weight and that helps quite a bit. I might mod the steering a bit by adding a proper steering link between the servo and the weird steering rack so it is more solid and that should improve things even more.

      @@Triggered-RC Yep I'd definitely add a proper steering link. I raced 2wd 1/10 off road short course hardcore from 2000 - 2004. Everybody was trying to lighten their trucks back then. I found it made my trucks handle worse the lighter I made it. It didn't handle in the air as well either. I actually added weight to the front of my graphite XXX Losi and it would pretty much turn on a dime and turn much better under power. I won well over 30 trophy's on short courses with that truck and the 2003 points championship at the fastest dirt oval on the east coast, Coppers RC. It's still open far as I know you can check it out on TH-cam. I got to race against Tony Stewart there. He was a egotistical asshole and wouldn't sign my truck so I put him in the wall a couple times 🤣😂 Good times good times 👍🏻

      I just got them off Taobao here in China. Maybe you can find them on Bangood. They have no brand that I can see. Just come in a plain plastic bag and are pretty cheap.
