manuel ortiz Yes it is. I used it on a hole in my radiator and i didnt even put loads on like most people do. Let it dry for 18-24 hours before i filled my radiator back up with coolant and it worked perfect. No leaks and a super strong seal that i think will last forever as its really strong and better than having to use a blow torch and all that headache thats not guaranteed to work but JB weld is guaranteed to work if u mix it 50/50 with both tubes the black and red one are the strongest of jb weld. Thats what i used and very easy and quick to do. The only long part is waiting for it to dry but worth it to get a perfect seal
It would be interesting to know if this repair lasted and for how long if so. I wonder if jb weld can be used on central HVAC system to repair a condenser coil leak?
How did you know it was leaking. I was told my condenser will cost over $700 to replace but I can't see any holes in it. I am in Florida and the heat is miserable. 3 different repair people told me they couldn't find any leak. The last place I took it to told me my condenser is leaking. Is the condenser relatively easy to replace? I want to fix the ac b4 next summer heat creeps up on us again.
It probably has a pin hole in it. The only quick and easy way to find out where the leak is. Get the system gassed with UV dye, after 1 week look shine a uv torch and it will glow. It's best to do that out of the light, In a garage there will be very little light or when it's night time. Wash the engine bay and condenser before you do the gas, and don't clean after you put the gas otherwise you will wash everything away
Great repair idea, not sure if I missed something but was the AC system deep vacuumed before the R134A and oil added? Moisture and air will be left inside if not vacuumed out. I'm going to try the original JB weld on a leaking aluminium AC pipe hopefully today
It's funny I worked with a ac doctor's in the 80ies he rebound compressors EVAP,& condenser,,he biuld out of copper pipes and sheets, never did vacuum ......so now I have been fooling around my house ac when it brakes Down cars ac refrigerator, and never did a vacuum ,and always have great success,...not to say you should follow my advice but , I hats just my experience over the decades
Thank you for advice my friend! I did try with gloves before and JB weld sticks on it kind of sloppy job but after that I washed my hand with isopropyl alcohol so it's all good 😊
Jb weld is amazing... I used it to fix the radiator on my 2006 sprinter box truck.. 5 months later is still in good shape

Did you put a patch or did you weld the pipes.? They look like you canceled.. my condenser has a small leak, do I just put JB weld on it.?

What was the in the first can that you used? Was it a dryer to get the moisture out?
Again that was the temporary fix, I sure recommend to change the condenser and the dryer or I believe it's called accumulator
Thanks for posting brotha!
Beware of forever or dangerous chemicals.
