great video I am just starting out so really useful just debating whether to buy the AIA course but money is a bit tight at the moment as I just got made redundant so scared to pay out so much money
Yeah, I think each person's situation is a bit different, but I've done well over a million dollars in book sales, so AIA is the best investment I've ever made. Keep learning on TH-cam and save up join later or they have a monthly payment option that's pretty reasonable.

I did my first children's book on kdp. I didn't really know what I was doing so I used their free isbn. Can I still put my book on other platforms since I used theirs?
It's better to own your ISBN, but having a free one from KDP is no issue. If you put your book on Ingram Spark, for example, you would want to purchase one or get one through them.
Love your channel and videos - they are very helpful to me. I've decided to commit to Amazon KDP as my main thing for at least the next 2 years, as I want to make it work. I do still want to do my TH-cam channel aa well though - as I tend to sell my books through that. I bought Vellum thanks to you but still got to learn how to fully use it.
Awesome glad to hear it. Even if your podcast and books are around one niche, you could always start a secondary one under a pen name just for making more money.

I already have a much smaller second channel that I'm growing but not under a pen name - I've cleverly mixed the two in a unique way@@TrevorSomerville This channel I'm writing from, is my main passion and niche and what I love to talk about and help people with on a daily basis, as I am asexual, and I literally live and breathe asexuality - I feel so at home here and have so much knowledge and experience to share. I can't do something just to make money, it has to be something I'm passionate about, especially as money isn't my main motivator - I talk about asexuality because I love it and it feels so good and right - and it's my life mission to raise awareness globally of asexuality, as a sexual orientation in it's own right.
However, I've come up with a very inventive idea for this niche recently - as so far I haven't made much money with this niche and not made a profit in terms of my expenses against income - I would call it regular pocket money - (although I am a bestseller and publisher in this niche) and I do want to expand my offering and make it more appealing and something I can do recurring, so I'm going to be testing my new book idea out - I already have buyers waiting for it.
I have never done any paid ads before, and I am thinking to do one for this latest book, but I was thinking I needed to get some reviews after initial lunch first, then do a paid ad, so I have some social proof first? Or do I do ads to help get reviews?
What is a good way to get reviews on activity books? I would think since it’s an activity book I need to provide a real book not just a PDF. What do you suggest?
You could provide them with a PDF they could print and use some of the activities, but yes if you can give out some physical copies it would be much easier.
You could use something like Pubby to get a few reviews with the PDF and join some FB groups. Once you have 5-10 reviews if the book cover is good it will sell and you'll slowly get more organic.

At what point bin your KDP journey did you set up an LLC?
Once, I started making about 3-4k per month, but there were a lot of factors to consider. Find a good accountant and they will be able to advise you when is the best time to do it.
Hi don't you have to buy ur own IBN (BAR CODE) if you put your books on different platforms? $$.?
I would recommend buying your own ISBN's because it just gives you more control over your books. However most platforms will issue you a free one these days specific to them if you don't have one.

Hi Trevor, I have a couple of questions for you. I got an invitation to join a 7-Day Book Challenge for free. You've always emphasized on "book quality" and it's hard to think that someone can get a quality book ready in 7 days. My questions are: 1) Do you think it's worth joining in? 2) If I join the 7-day challenge, can I still join AIA through your link later on?
The 7 day book challenge is usually what they like you to start with when you join the course. It’s to learn the process and get a product live very quickly and yes it’s not meant to be a big earner it’s to get your feet wet.
I’m not actually sure if you can use my link after or not. You could always ask support to be sure.

How does a beginner start with reviews???????
Give away copies of your book. That's the answer at a basic level. You can also build an ARC team where you mail out copies before it launches to everyone. Then there is options like Pubby which are nice but don't overdo it.
*Love your video but how to do everything you say? How to chose the right nich, how to have more reviews on the listing... you talking but not teaching. Anyway you can teach those mistakes?*
