When I was a young kid and when I use to watch this, i always wanted them to do a crossover between G-Force and the Silver Hawks. Just think about it both of these in a movie together and saving the world. I think it would have been cool
I remember watching this as a rerun on the fledgling Cartoon Network in the early 90s at 6pm EST. Back then, I thought of anime as an acquired taste which I had fashioned from Star Blazers to Force Five to Robotech. Little did I know what was to come, but nothing beats the classics!
I seem to remember it being on at 5 PM, but maybe it was because I saw it in late 1995, or I was in a different time zone. The first time I saw it, it was because I was stuck inside at the time. I was sick, and would have probably done something else at 5 PM. I remember my dad seeing how much I liked it. He said "When I was 11, I loved Godzilla." I did not like that he said it back then, but I did many years later.
More than once, someone attempted to make a Gatchaman movie, but it never got finished. I think the best you could do is find fansubbed episodes of Gatchaman F and Gatchaman II. Those came out after Gatchaman, where G Force was taken from.
Gatchaman 50th anniversary (1974) is this year. Still..."Battle of the Planets" is MORE savage than the King Features Syndicate "G-Force" & Saban's "Eagle Riders".
WTF!!! Ace Goodheart Dirk Daring!!! ??? When the hell did this release 90’s because this definitely ain’t The 70’s and 80’s dubs for sure. Gatchaman was already edited for US shores in the 70’s why did they add these corny names to an already decent and working US 78- 80’s edit 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏾♂️
They could've stayed loyal to the brand and call them by their names, or close to them in the case of Ryu the Owl and Jinpei the Sparrow. Ken, Joe, and Jun? Keep _them_ as is!
@@TBONE_2004 I think many years ago, it was common to localize anime and change the names. Sailor Moon was translated into English in 1995. Usagi was changed to Serana, and a bunch of other names were changed.
My dad loves this cartoon as much as I do. One of the best shows on Cartoon Network . The nostalgia.
This cartoon took on so many names it’s ridiculous.
I’m a fan of Battle of The Planets version.
Mark, Jason, Princess, Kei and Tiny .
Glory days of old school cartoon network....
I still remember when this was on early 90's old school Cartoon Network back then! I miss those days so much.
Yesssss I've finally found this intro!!!! This is the version I was looking for, which I've been trying to find for years!!!

I think about how Silverhawk Copper Kid may have been a joke about BOTP Keyop. They both had wings and made funny noises to talk.
Watched this everyday after school in the early 80s...can we go back?

They should make a live action movie of this.
