My experience with Ellen: Years before her talk show I attended her stand up in NYC. My friend insisted we go to the stage door to get a photo. Reluctantly I went. Having worked in a hospital, I have done quite a few health and welfare courses, and one thing I remember is that people dealing with food service should NOT be wearing nail polish in the first place. And chipped nail polish is a breeding area for disease. So in actual fact, Ellen did the right thing. Perhaps she could have spoken to the woman directly, but either way, the waitress should NOT have had nail polish on. (or rings).

I'd be uncomfortable if two random women did that to my husband or boyfriend. Heck, married or single, I'd be uncomfortable if two random strangers danced on me.

My experience with Ellen: Years before her talk show I attended her stand up in NYC. My friend insisted we go to the stage door to get a photo. Reluctantly I went. There were about ten people waiting. Security said she would be right out to say hello. Half hour later she waved from a limo .

Having worked in a hospital, I have done quite a few health and welfare courses, and one thing I remember is that people dealing with food service should NOT be wearing nail polish in the first place. And chipped nail polish is a breeding area for disease.
So in actual fact, Ellen did the right thing. Perhaps she could have spoken to the woman directly, but either way, the waitress should NOT have had nail polish on. (or rings).
