- One day in Kamakura! First stop is Komachi Street right outside of the Kamakura JR station. At the end of the street is Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Temple. Right outside the Temple on the Main Street is a bus stop to Hokokuji Temple (the bamboo temple.) Taking the bus back to Kamakura Station go to the Enoden train line for Hase Station where you will find the Hase-Dera Temple and The Great Buddha at Kotokuin Temple.
Our personal favorite place to see was Hokokuji Temple. It was tucked away in the forest with a stunning garden and bamboo forest. It was also less crowded and a little cooler in temperature.
Hello! We are Tetsu & Reid, a Japanese and American couple living in Japan with a goal to travel around the country, van style! This is our experience buying a used van in Japan that we are converting into a livable space for our trip. We will show the process of making the van and the travel that follows next. Excited to show this journey!

hi, where i could get those bus ticket to jomujyi?
Hi there! You don’t need a ticket! You can pay with cash when you exit the bus, or use an IC card such as Suica or Passmo. At the moment you can only get these IC cards on your phone, or one available for tourists at the airport.
But cash is totally fine too!
Do you paid for the stamps?
Yes, they are usually ¥500 but some smaller temples have them for ¥300 or special double paged ones for ¥1000!
You can also collect regular stamps for free at train stations and michi-no-ekis!
