Was going to blame the bobby pin on my wife, but it was another 1958 quarter so I know it was mine. Great video! I didn't have that slick clamp but I used a barbecue tong and clamped that so worked slick! Thanks!

Ok thanks for the video it helped and saved me a service call I found a quarter blocking the impellor working great now but I should of bailed more water from tub ha

Hi fix it guy! My older front load stopped spinning last night. I don’t have any excess water in the barrel like the one in this video so I’m thinking that indication of not having a clog. I also tested the door latch by setting it into spin and then trying to open it but it was locked. Are these enough test to indicate what the problem is? Maybe the belt? Thank you for your videos!
It’s either the door lock (cheap) or the motor controller (pricey). The door lock might still lock the door but not send a signal to allow spin.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel thanks so much for the reply. Just replaced the lock but still no spin. I can feel that the belt is still intact. Hose isn't clogged either. When it's suppose to be spinning during a cycle its just silent. No noise at all. I suppose I'll find a motor control (returnable if unsuccessful) to try that fix. Thanks again
I followed your steps, nothing seems to be clogging it. It does drain water, but it won’t spin fast enough to ring out the clothes. So the clothes end up being sopping wet when the cycle is done. During the spin cycle it just sort of tumbles the clothes around but no spinning takes place…any ideas?

It just needs a new door switch which you can get from amazon.com and is easy to replace.

My washer works except it does not do the final spin. I changed the door latch switch and the controller. It still will not final spin and the clothes are wet. What else can it be? Thanks

I think i have this problem right now, I don't have a clamp for the boot and i think i can remove the clip with regular pliers or even my finger and thumb squeezing together. I'm worried about how much water is going to spill out though. If i have a garage full of tools, what else could i use to limit the water spillage from the main drain?
I'm actually going to try removing the clothes and drying as much of the water that isn't draining from inside the machine first. Hopefully that will limit the amount of water that spills out. Also be ready with towels
Yep, you can also lean it back at 45 degrees to limit the water.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thanks, with the room i had in my laundry room, i couldn't tilt it but it's something worse i guess. There was a lot of water left after removing what was in the main area. :o Luckily, I had a cooking pan like what you'd use to baste turkey. I could slide it under for a few rounds of emptying. The impeller was clear and a flap was a bit dirty but i wiped it down. After putting it back together and plugging in, the door lock light was on but no water came in (thinking i could run a light wash - should it have started a new session like i guessed?) and it still didn't spin or finish off the last laundry session. It seemed to have stopped in the spin cycle when this started. I'll try to find a guy to take a more professional look. Thanks for the ideas!
When the door lock stops working it won’t spin but will still drain. Was yours not draining at all?
@Scottthefixitguy it seemed to have drained and then stopped. There was water at the bottom of the main area but it wasn’t full. One towel after removing the clothes sopped it up. So maybe something after the impeller is blocked? It spun just fine and seemed to have nothing in it. But, thinking about it the water didn’t fully drain. Right.
Our washer was spinning before but just not draining. We did what you did to unclog and reassembled but now it wont spin or agitate. It drains, fills water but other than that you can here it clinking through cycles and thats it no spinning or agitating. Any suggestions?
Also to add. Our door look seems to be working properly and was replaced year ago
I wonder if the motor carbon brushes need replacement ?
My pump seems like it's running but doesn't seem very strong will the washing machine recognize if the pump is not running correctly
