I might be naive and new to gaming on this level (I'm used to pixels and what not..) I found this game engaging visually but especially intellectually - trying to find out what the game wants me to do when in the "mind map" and which clues to tag ... I really was immersed and loved it
If you look up close to the screen, squint your eyes just the right amount, and tilt your head a perfect 66°'s to the left, you'll see Sherlock's glorious pixels. 🫨
I just finished The Sinking City, and as a Lovecraft fan I loved it. It’s not perfect, but it accomplishes what it wanted to do. I feel like this game can do the same
sinking city is better, at least it's complete experience and a fresher storyline. this game has a LOT of empty promises from their kickstarter page , they have a very successful kickstarter campaign but some aspect left half-baked or unfulfilled. i don't care how's war affect them but after sherlock chapter one , i expect more than a downgrade sherlock experience that lacking challenge and thing to do.
In none of Arthur conan Doyle's books is the phrase "Elementary, my dear Watson " ever been used. "Elementary!" and "My dear Watson..." have been used separately multiple times though.
Hell, one could argue that Doyle & Lovecraft wrote in the same universe. Some of Lovecraft’s stories ARE detective mysteries, with a supernaturally/cosmically-divine twist lol
one of my main problems with these games is budgetary/technical. London was busy. Even in the 1890's, it was bustling like now. There's never enough people and carriages going about their business, and it takes me right out of every street scene and city outdoor area. I get that it's hard to put in a ton of NPCs, especially for a small studio like Frogwares...But I really wish they would.
I wish more game developers had access the technology that Hitman games uses in regards to crowds. Because having enough npcs to population the game can literally make or break immersion depending on the setting.
@@RMJ1984Most development studios have their own similar tech (Asobo Studios rat, Frogwares City Generator) though its primarily within their own engines which is why you do not see it being shared
It was actually more bustling back then. Streets were teeming with movement and people. It helped that people had more respect for city streets back then, but yes. Things were a lot more friendly and the bustle was at its peak from the late 1800's up into maybe the early 1930's.
@greengrugach1984yeah, some of that is definitely ridiculous. And they try and make a person seem racist if they even criticize it even though it's a valid criticism.... I love history, geography, and social studies and sciences. But they're blowing it when it comes to this kind of thing lately when it comes to entertainment (films, games etc).
If call of cthulhu and sinking city were blended together this is the result. I love the game but it needed more horror and investigations, it needed more of everything it felt short but given that the game was made in a time of war it speaks volumes about Frogwares and their true passion for making these games
I think I hated everything about Chapter one. Empty boring world, load times any time u enter or exit a building, no real puzzles, lazy "puzzle" design. No real puzzles like Crime and Punishment. That was the peak
I loved the chapter one game and with this now on sale, I plan on getting this. Thank goodness they removed those stupid battle sequences, absolutely hated those, especially as you couldn't skip them if you wanted the platinum
I've played every SH games im about to play this one I think why it falls short is with 1st SHG players returning players who know the drill won't be to bothered about too much
I loved the earlier games but chapter one was just tedious in selecting evidense and then speaking to a npc, really took the fun out. Do you know if the gameplay is more like the earlier ones?
@AskHandsomeThomas nope it's not like c&p or dd. In fact its like chapter one but cooler but no combat ((guess its to fallow the idea that actions against lovecraftian stuff is impossible))Also, if you wanna get more to understand chapter one keep a strategy guide open online fallow it word for word
@@nolanhewitt2563 Thanks for the info! kinda glad theres no combat indeed it would not fit the game when facing eldritch terrors. I going to buy the game, thanks again!
Don't forget that this game was developed during the bloody war, when Russia attacked Ukraine. The developers created the game under the most difficult conditions.
Exactly dude, no one made them make this sub par game. It's cool that it took their minds of the world around them but it's still sucks as a product, no excuse
I'll never give these guys any money again Chapter one is so unbearably bad. Load times everywhere, no real puzzles, bugs galore and slow loading textures. They went from a b tier dev to like f. They suck, bottom line
@ Its open. But you travel from place to place so each location is small. And I don't think there is much to do in each location other than the main quest.
I personally think its better than crime & punishment and the mechanics is the best. Its just linear and unlike other sherlock holmes games you can't get it wrong. Its like its more story driven. But its places similar to C&P in the sense that you jump from location to location except in case of awakening the locations are very wide apart like moving from london to switerzland then to new Orean (USA) and there are sub locations here too

Sounds like you'd have to be all in on completing the game or not worth trying, although could still be fun
I hope they'll remake Jack the ripper game, I still find that one the best of them all

Does it worth it buying it on Nintendo Switch? I don't know what platforms should I buy it, I would really like to play it on portable. Greetings
