Comic shops are closing down left and right with no one buying the comics even in stores. They are living off of ESG money and crumbs from disney at this point and the hope they can get a movie/cartoon deal. From my understanding is that Editors and Writers have a “Bible” a booklet or something that details events that happen to the Universe and Characters

They pulled a Flash season 3 on us when Iris was supposed to die by Savitar but instead HR Wells, it was a good thing that those 2 accidents are gone but not Paul who has a full now which is that why She favoured Paul over Peter because not just for the kids she pity him because when she says sounds familiar was supposed to be Harry Osborn because that’s why she cheated on Peter in Spider-Man 3 like wow and I thought Raimi’s MJ was bad as many people have said and they do have a point.

I hate paul, and not even in a "I hate him i wish he dies" sort of way. I hate him in a "I hope he gets retconned and doesn't exist anymore" type of way. Even if they ended up revealing that Paul was le secret villain all along!! I couldn't give less of a shit. The only way for them to fix this is to end this run of Spider-Man and give it to an actually good writer, preferably to one who isn't a cuckold.

I guess so. I can’t say I haven’t ever imagined myself as Spider-Man but as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to appreciate the stories that included MJ and Peter together, it always felt like the natural progression of the story back in the 80s/90s, so we long for that again

Zeb Wells has got to be the worst Spider-Man comic writter. At least he's not Jeph Loeb. Immediate PTSD to everyone who read Ultimatuim.
That’s it I can’t stand marvel anymore. I’m gonna go ahead and start making. My own. Spider-Man stories. And any other entertainment ideas that I can create to make new stories because let’s face it marvel has gone off the deep end. And the people that are in charge are not selected for the job because of their creativity. It’s due to modern day nonsense , I’am sick and tired of we need people who can create stories for escapism not nonsense-ism
It is odd because Zeb Wells is a very good writer, but his Spider-Man run is terrible
So here's the shit. You can probably tell from my name - I love Kamala Khan. She's probably my favourite Marvel Superhero. And this... is bullshit, because there was a way for this to happen without it being this awful.
The problem to me is this. She's being killed for the sake of utility, right? They want to retcon her to be a mutant. I am fully in favour of her being a mutant. I have wanted her to be a mutant literally from the moment they made her an inhuman - because the inhumans are fucking lame. But either way, we all know, and they have been really open about the fact that Kamala Khan is dying JUST to come back as a Mutant. It's a plot device death. This is frustrating, but it's not unsalvageable. It's unnecessary, but it doesn't NEED to feel exploitative. If they had been like "Gasp! Ms Marvel is Dead! But Wait!" and then jumped straight into her being rezzed and the shocking twist of "She's a mutant and always has been", that is basically fine. It's a little dumb but it goes so fast that it's honest about what is happening here. It even makes the fact she died in a comic with Peter Parker's Spider-Man, a character she has little to no connection to, feel a little less shit... because the entire thing is treated as overtly utilitarian, it's treated like Housekeeping. Again, it's not great, but if it's direct about why this is happening, it's LESS bad.
But what they've actually done here is, they've given her an overtly stupid, utilitarian death, they have been honest and direct about WHY this has happened, they have made it clear from start to finish none of this matters... but they're STILL trying to do the whole "Death of Ms Marvel" thing. They're STILL being very melodramatic about the fact she died, they're still doing an event comic exploring her death. But they're doing it seemingly using characters she has very little to do with. Almost NOTHING to do with. The reason this whole thing feels so fucking gross? Is that Kamala Khan's death could not be LESS about her if the writers had actively been TRYING to make it less about her. She doesn't matter in the story of her own death. She's completely inconsequential - and that makes all the flaws that could have been skipped over so much more overt and so much worse.
It really doesn't help that Zeb Wells is on twitter being an asshole about the whole thing. It especially doesn't help that this whole shit feels... frankly, kinda racist. They bring Ms Marvel, a muslim girl who was REALLY significant to those of us who aren't often represented in comics, into a story about a bunch of white people she has no connection to for LITERALLY ONE ISSUE just to then kill her off and parade her corpse around. Like I gotta be honest - if they had done this in a comic starring someone she had a genuine connection to, even if it was a white character - like if they'd done this in an X-Men book where Cyclops was the main star and she'd died saving like, Jean Grey, for example - I would not necessarily feel like this was a racist thing, because the connection between her and those characters would still be significant enough that her dying for someone she doesn't know personally for the sake of someone she DOES care about would feel like it put HER at the center of her own death. It'd still be gross sure, but it wouldn't have crossed that particular line into being POLITICALLY shitty. But it's the fact that EVERY ASPECT of this treats Kamala as completely insignificant and THEN has her die for the sake of some Rando white person she has no connection to, while a bunch of Rando white people she has no connection to and their feelings on the matter get ALL OF THE FOCUS... That just feels gross to me.
Yeah, 100% agree. For a story about the death of Ms Marvel, she isn't in the story or book at all. Her inclusion and character is a complete after thought. This run did nothing to try and build a connection between kamala or any of the supporting cast in the book. She was quite literally the cameo janitor that showed up every so often.
There's no deep exploration of her decisions or motives or character, she just dies randomly. Its not even played as a particularly heroic or triumphant moment. Its played for pure shock value for the sake of advancing the stories of two white characters WHO DIDN'T KNOW HER.
Hell, the guy she stopped wasn't even that big of a threat. THEY LITERALLY KILLED HIM EASILY EARLIER IN THE RUN! SO I CALL BS ON HER SACRIFICE BEING NECESSARY TO STOP THIS GUY. The bad guy was a compete joke and we're going to act like she saved the universe??? This feels like Wells is trying to gaslight readers into thinking this sacrifice was really pivotal.
Also, the latest issue only solidifies this problem, with Peter not only keeping Kamala's mask as some weird guilt trip memento he sleeps next to, but also the main focus of Peter's attention and care being on NORMAN OSBORN.
Like, there are literally a dozen other people that Peter could and should have reassured before NORMAN OSBORN.
They could have at least had the decency of having Peter and maybe Norman going to console Kamala's family. That perhaps would have made their own feelings slightly more sympathetic, while also making clear the importance Kamala had to other people, but no, the grief being shown in the latest issue is entirely self indulgently centered around 2 white guys who barely knew her.

This whole writing team is just trying to piss the fans off at this point. Just burn the comic side down and focus more on the games and movies. All of these authors and editors should be jobless. Look at Tom Taylor's Nightwing, he actually likes and respects the character and moves him forward! But like my therapist said, its just paper that came from a tree. It's nothing.
