Hi Jennifer, your tutorial was amazing. I loved all the cards that you made & what a lovely idea to make quite a few to give away as a gift for someone to have on hand. I have never tried foiling, but after watching you I think I might like to try. I also liked the Altenew ‘Thanks’ product that you showed as well. Thank you for a great demo, easy to listen to & wonderful to watch. I totally look forward to your tutorials, especially the long ones. 😃😃😃. Take care.

You can also foil with an iron. Or use adhesive that requires neither heat nor pressure, much. iCrafts regular foil dries tacky and you can rub the foil onto it. You can also stamp with it pretty much using the method JM demonstrated. I usually use a makeup sponge. I’m going to try Ranger’s inking foam because the pegs are easy to hold on to.
All of the glues that dry tacky can be used with foil including Tombow’s MONO multi liquid glue, Sakura Quickie glue pens (which come in a variety of sizes), and rubber cement. Rubber cement is kind of fun but gloopy. Hot glue works too if you foil it before it totally solidifies. And of course all of the tapes and glue dots work as well.
You can also stamp over foil with StazOn and Archival inks. Or alter foil with alcohol inks.
There are all of these new methods of foiling with the Glimmer, Go Press ‘n’ Foil, & Minc machines that I think we forget that it was possible to foil before all of that. I guess crafters find the newer methods easier.
