Hadn’t thought about using a lifter on the turnovers and inside the scrolls. Glad I watched and thanks for the tip.

I literally look for everything that would naturally have that lift and depth. If I can use it and have it make sense, I'm lifting it! 😂
Glad the video gave you something new to try.

You are a great teacher, Daniel. You always have good tips and tricks. I can't wait to use them. So is skiving leather the same as sanding in wood working. Everyone hates to do it, but it must be done? Lol

Thank you! Skiving is where you take a blade and shave down the edge of the leather. It can be very frustrating and it's easy to ruin your project until you get the hang of it. It's a pain.
So pretty much everyone hates it until they get good at it. 😂

@@DanielReachCreations yup just like sanding. Everyone hates to do it. Have you seen Don Gonzales trick on skiving? He lightly wets the area first.

@Lord Daniel Rushton Yes! It tried that and having it completely dry. Not sure which I like best. Moisture can cause it to stretch /dry let's the blade bite in hard. Damp makes it softer which makes it cut easier. I'm kinda in the middle right now.

Daniel, why do they make these tools so thin? They are very hard to hold on to even with nurling. In order for me to hold on to these tools I have to turn wood on my lathe and drill a hole for the tool to slide down the middle of the wood handle and use cement to set it with. This makes it much easier for people with arthritis or neuropathy to be able to hold the tools.
