I like the speed of this music, it's nice and low key! John manages to be very perky, adding an appealing contrast to the vibe. The whole band is doing a fantastic job as usual. This, in spite of the 'cold rain and snow.' You've got to love them! They're the best that ever did it ❣❣❣
This was my absolute favorite show out of the whole Summer 2018 tour. I did 16 and I just love the first set. Jack Straw seamlessly transinitions into Cold Rain & Snow without missing a freakin beat !! I am all in at this point. Saw 269 shows with Jerry and 45 Dead & Company after Lockn. What A Ride !!! was 17 in 1985 when I started.
Ya gotta get your body movin a little different to this. Like sitting still dancing. And it picks up big time when they get going. How friggin fun to have Dead shows in 2018.
Thanks for the fun wonderful live jams and keeping our favorite music still on tour ! We love you all and will be watching and going to the whole tour , 🙏🌹❤️
I was a bit cheesed at the rhythm even though John Mayer was killing it but t hat was one silky slide into Cold Rain and Snow. Applause all around from these ears!
last night was the 15th show my wife and I have been to. we both agreed that other than the second show they ever played 10/31/15 MSG that was the best we have seen!!! the whole band played the shit out of their instruments. when they really figure out how to intertwine songs and end songs (end songs, never could never will 😁) personally, one of the best shows I've seen can't wait for tonight. enjoy 🙌 although seeing them in Mexico was pretty freaking sweet too!!!
trent were there plenty of tickets available last night , tonight 3to 4 inches of rain should make it a free show i think forty percent will no show , least i hope, i hope they wont cancel , i doubt they will ,but its supposed to be a monsoon , literally , which sounds perfect for camden and some square dancing ,,, u know dosey doe ,
big sadie only lawn tickets were available last night. but there were plenty of other tickets being sold in the parking lots. if there is no lightning they will play🙌🙌🙌
cool thanks for info , glad you had fun , ill be there with my baby girl in the thumb nail , shes old head , was gonna pass on camden but considering i can almost see it from my balcony ,i would have been pissed ,that i didnt just go , butt i miss monsoon concerts , i think if there already playing lightning counts as part of the light show , sure did at rfk stadium particularly in 199O lightning smashed the stage during one of jerry solos in bertha , and his guitar volume tripled on impact , i never saw it rain so hard , you can still here it on the tape, i dont know why it happened butt it was electric , show , tour , year ,,,peace pot microdot ... trent you the man , we will see you at the jubilee
Jack Straw segue into Cold Rain & Snow is awesome. I think Cold Rain & Snow is John Mayer's favorite Dead song. Probably the one song I feel they do better than the Dead, even at the Dead's best.
Mayer is feeling it. You can tell this isn't just about $$$ to him. I think he's deriving more satisfaction from Dead and Co than he did as a hit solo artist.
I agree however I find it interesting that when i see them on TH-cam it feels so slow but when I see them in person it doesn’t seem slow... what up with that?
You are having a joyful time as you ought! Plus Mayer is really fucking terrific at whatever speed Bob can work himself up to. But JRAD kicks their ass so bad, not that it's a competition.
Anthony Hughes Exactly! Slowing the pace allows them to create more interplay and develop the songs into their own style. It also allows Bob to keep up since he moves like he's 80, not 70.
I sure hope Raleigh next Sat is a bit more energetic or Im going to be taking a nap. Mayer sounds absolutely stunning but please up the tempo just a wee bit.
For me, slow is the right tempo ... each note is a moment of bliss to be enjoyed. I never enjoyed GD when they were playing fast ... usually driven by the chemicals of the moment most likely. Slow and meaningful and let it unwind tastefully. Many of the jazz greats that the boys grew up with were the same. But as with anything else in life, it's in the ears of the beholder.
I'm not being critical of the tempo. If that's what they felt was best at the time, that's fine. But I must admit that this is so slow it took me a minute (like, a literal minute) to recognize what song it was. There is a lot of potential with this song when it comes to intensity. Tempo might not be the only way to reach it but it might help a little. OK, I guess I am being a bit critical. It's nice to see members of the Grateful Dead making some good noise either way. I hope it continues for a long while.
Every show will be the same tempo. It's all the originals can handle at 70. Stop whining and accept it or watch videos of 85 and 86 Dead when they were blistering fast. And forget 1.25 speed. It makes them sound like mice.
i don't think that's true. bill and mickey can still rock out. saw billy and the kids 3 summers ago at vibes, kreutzmann was rocking hard and fast. bob chooses to play slow, not that he can't play faster. look for interview with trey on this subject a few yrs ago around the time of the fare thee well shows.
"Every show will be at the same tempo that's all they can handle at 70? " LOL it's not about what they can handle they have played many songs at typical tempos and have taking certain jams to all new heights with the help of John Mayer they can handle it they're just trying things differently because when you play the same music for that long that's what you end up doing they're not the only band that changes the tempo of their songs as time goes on.. in this case it's not too hard to handle! wink..
Would you all stop complaining and just Let The Music Play! Alo please stop talking about how Bob looks I am in no better shape and looking at the crowd last nigh neither are many of you See yu again tonight
I'm an old dude....WHY ON EARTH WOULD A MAN WANT TO DIE IT BLACK??!! Men don't do that...lol. Not real men any ways. Bob's the old hippy guy we all wish lived next door. (Almost all of us anyway)

I love this pace: you can hear every note, and Bob sounds the best I've heard him in a long time.
Thanks for the fun wonderful live jams and keeping our favorite music still on tour ! We love you all and will be watching and going to the whole tour , 🙏🌹❤️
The jack straw into rain and snow is absolutely brilliant , they nailed it !
I was a bit cheesed at the rhythm even though John Mayer was killing it but t hat was one silky slide into Cold Rain and Snow. Applause all around from these ears!
i apologize for my prior comments, you guys are right, i am taking this too seriously, i like dead and co alot and im grateful they are playing....
sam hamdan
Welcome back Sam. We thought we'd lost you.

Those 2 days in camden were amazing. It was a shame the second show got cut out early because they were cooking!
I was on the rail with my 17-year-old daughter and raged that concert so hard ! That’s back went dead and company sounded good
The Best Rock and Roll Band this side of the Universe and that's how it stands!
Im excited about Lakewood Friday! Im enjoying this tour. The best? Nah. It's still good. Some of idols still rockin'. No complaints from me.
Jack Straw segue into Cold Rain & Snow is awesome. I think Cold Rain & Snow is John Mayer's favorite Dead song. Probably the one song I feel they do better than the Dead, even at the Dead's best.
This is a totally wild and beautiful Jack Straw.
On point!!
i can dig it!
Sounds perfectly groovy to me!
Johns guitar sounds different, sounds more like jerry. Super ice picky
Mayer is feeling it. You can tell this isn't just about $$$ to him. I think he's deriving more satisfaction from Dead and Co than he did as a hit solo artist.
couldnt agree more
Drew Matthews look what we done to the kid
All I have to say is.... JRAD
mayer is great though. especially when he sits in with JRAD!
kmartinpa jrad who???
Wake me when we get to Tulsa.
my word so sloooooowwww!
I agree however I find it interesting that when i see them on TH-cam it feels so slow but when I see them in person it doesn’t seem slow... what up with that?

Lowering the floor raises the ceiling when they really get into it. And it makes Bob's vocals sound better.
Anthony Hughes

i think it's not bob's age but his choice to play slow. trey politely spilled the beans on this a few yrs ago after the fare thee well shows.
My old buddy you’re movin kinda slow
The straw grows deep
I sure hope Raleigh next Sat is a bit more energetic or Im going to be taking a nap. Mayer sounds absolutely stunning but please up the tempo just a wee bit.
Will you really take a nap?
You're talking about three 70 yo men, two of whom are the drummers. They ain't spring chickens.

Stagger Lee damn bro you’re everyweir lol
Greg Kennedy
I'm back on the bus! I've been told it runs a wee bit slow but thanks to a few new parts, happy it runs at all. 😁
"Every show will be at the same tempo that's all they can handle at 70? you mean 1982
Fuck yes see you all at Alpine Valley
Love Jack Straw.
Would you all stop complaining and just Let The Music Play! Alo please stop talking about how Bob looks I am in no better shape and looking at the crowd last nigh neither are many of you See yu again tonight
Wonderfull Jack Straw!
Starts at 10:52
Bob would feel younger if he shaved his birds nest beard, got a haircut, dyed it black, and lost his beer belly.
Why on earth would he want to look like a jerk rather than the comfortable age he is!
lol he's earned that belly!!! 😀 plus it's paid for.
He has that confederate general look down pact.
I'm an old dude....WHY ON EARTH WOULD A MAN WANT TO DIE IT BLACK??!! Men don't do that...lol. Not real men any ways. Bob's the old hippy guy we all wish lived next door. (Almost all of us anyway)
All you complainers are bugging me. If you don't like the tempo, keep it to yourselves or go see JRAD. They should satisfy you.
anyone got a link to the stream?
Great version of Jack Straw
"It doesn't matter what you wear just as long as you are there..." (and you're not being a schill for some corporate sponsor).
this is not an hd rip its very pixelated in full screen
Play at 1.25 speed
Chat?
Jack straw was amazing!
All I have to say is... JRAD
Blasphemy!
OMG, so sloooow - pick up the tempo to make it exciting Bob! Jerry wouldn't approve.
Sorry Mick and bill....joe Russo smokes both of you!!!
lottawork631 Russo is a copy though. I’ll take the original.
Lets see Russo’s beam
lottawork631
Russo isn't in Bill and Mickey's league.
