He’s definitely tricky to defend against, but I think when everyone finds out his game plan on the defensive side things will get worse for Ed.
@@iamsin6808 Man, its been 1 month and people still (other than the fact that his air game is kinda wack) put Ed in the neutral category where his match ups aren't good but they aren't bad either and take another gimmicky character JP who's whole gameplan is gimmicks with the portals and the command grab but people still call him top 3 even with the counter nerf. I honestly think that when people find out how to play defense against Ed, the players will only get more time in the lab and learn how to break those defenses again just like how JP defenders can't defend against him that easily even when there's a set gameplan on how to beat him now. You feel me? And not to mention that Season 2 hasn't even arrived yet and who knows what kind of buffs this man is going to get (hopefully it's his Psycho Upper because hot mama that move is probably the worst anti air in the game) so I think that once people get more time to cook with Ed he will be a force to be reckoned with.
@@zkosmith1662 okay but JP doesn’t have gimmicks, his gamelan for the most part is stable across the cast, and you don’t have to play him too different depending on the matchups, maybe aside from dhalsim. Ed is weak to universal mechanics and requires godlike patience and defensive prowess using his anti airs. He has a high skill floor and a high skill ceiling, look at momochi ranked 1 with Ed. Most of his game play is just poking and parrying his way into midrange where he can bully with flicker. He’ll probably fall somewhere in the top 10/15

@@zkosmith1662 depends on the context, if you try to parry spike and he teleports grabs, that’s real. It’s just part of his mind games, a gimmick is something that shouldn’t work against players that know better, it’s more of a knowledge check. His teleports good because if you walk past it in an attempt to get rid of it on the screen JP may just teleport out of the corner. Nothing gimmicky about it, it’s just cheap.

I think a lot of people accept Ken as a fair compromise. I mean, he rose to fame as a Ken in 3S after all. I actually dig seeing him play Ken too personally. I thought he'd continue with Guile, but after seeing so much of that, it's a nice change of pace.
It's also been a lonnnnnng time since Ryu was great. I know he was pretty good S1 in SFV, but nowhere close to how good he was at the beginning of SF4.

@@Insandom People will see 1 throw an entire match and say "throw loop".
I feel like people are primed at this point because throws are so good in this game. Not saying it’s always true, but if one or two throws come out there’s usually a loop coming

What on earth have they done to Streetfighter? This looks like a migraine-inducing nightmare of a computer game. What’s with all the ridiculous colours flying all over the screen? Is this because Gen-Z and below have the attention spans of a gnat so have to be blasted in the face with colours to keep their attention on the screen?

@@epicduckeh6 It’s not really a rage bait when it’s true son. Social media has destroyed attention spans in those generations. There are plenty of studies you can find on Google that prove it. The colour palette vomit is probably in there for exactly that reason.
It looks terrible and has completely ruined the game.
I'm old enough that I had SF1 on cassette and I think it looks and feels amazing.
