I think it's a mixture of both
nah, Ed is in no way top tier. In fact, Momochi is THE outlier in terms of the Character win rate data collection. Ed is like Bottom of Mid Tier at best.
Ed can be good, but you have to play him so differently, he has a ton of flaws...
Ed is Mid-tier, but he's one buff away to jump into high tier or even top, he has no overhead, his DP is slow, his anti-airs outside DP are finicky and you _need_ to commit to the right one, his jabs for a boxer suck donkey balls, I mean, Rog and Dudley have fantastic jabs, but Ed is straight-up trash. He's not a pocket character, you need to commit to him.
Definitely not top tier. He's still pretty new and momochi is just playing like a god. In competitive scene he's getting washed every time.
