My father grew up on Howell St. and my uncle was with the Camden fire department for years. I checked the place out on google maps and all there was is some gutted, burned out shells of buildings. I visited the neighborhood 56 years ago and it didn't look too bad.
why do you want them in beat up cars skinny begging for pay rates to go up ? why do you want to see them like that ?? that could end badly for people across town .. and the government knows this and made it better for them in their shit holes
I mean, that’s better than if they were starving, so I see that as okay. Besides, rent is cheap, so they would be able to afford lots of food. Sure, you could say it’s because they’re on food stamps, but honestly, it would still be better than starving, like I said before. Don’t see how this logic adds up.
from the outside looking in Cincinnati, camden, philly and Dc all remind me of baltimore like all those cities look alike I grew up in bmore but watching these videos i see similarities in these videos
You always in Pollock Town. to to East, Down Town, Centerville, North. Love the vids tho'. Thanx fam. I live in Phoenix now. For 9 yrs. I go here when I'm home sick and to get a reality never to go back...lol
sammy gurrl I can understand them flirting! You are cute! Just remember.. Men can be dangerous if they have mental problems! In Camden, it's more likely than not!
Hay Charlie, what sort of car you driving? With all that squeaking and squeeling it sounds like your in a Sherman Tank! lol Mind you have to be in a tank to drive around some of the places you visit !
Great footage. Beautiful video. The trash cans definitely give this neighborhood a homey, warm fuzzy feeling. What gangs mainly consist in Camden New Jersey?
I loved it. So sad. I knew right where you were the whole time. At the end, I could have walked and gotten the REAL panzarotti! Gonna watch more of your vids. Got any of Fairview?
Much of what contributes to the urban blight originates from the flood of addicts from outside of the city from the suburbs who have taken refuge within the local community. Also, from what i have seen of other American " hoods" , Camden is not the worst by any means.
The only good thing Camden has going for it is its nice waterfront across from Philly. It’s a safe area with several nice entertainment options (Adventure Aquarium, Battleship New Jersey, BB&T Pavilion). Once you go a few blocks inland, it begins to look like a war zone full of neglected neighborhoods with crumbling streets and buildings. The city has been in decay for decades and doesn’t have the resources to handle the problems. Crime, drugs, poverty, a failing school system and corruption are rampant. Several mayors and many police officers have gone to prison for corruption. In fact, the city’s police department was disbanded in 2012-2013 with about half the force either laid off or voluntarily quitting and taken over by the county. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any end in sight for Camden as it continues to fall into ruin despite millions of dollars of financial aid coming from the State. If you just stick with the waterfront, you’ll be fine.
When I was a kid in high school there was a hood called Lakeview aka the road it was in the middle of two Mexican gang turfs u could only go in the daytime with friends to get liquor from the Arabs cause they sold it to miners they didn't care we even bought it with food stamps but come night time u didn't cross those tracks if u wernt buying dope that's the only way getting in and out and we always had some heat on us,on the weekends the cops wouldn't even respond there that's place was a war zone back in the 80s this was a lil town called Bakersfield CA.
Ah the armpit of hell. Wow you people must be so.proud of what you accomplished in life, wait the world held you back, please that record has been played so many times it is broken.
Why you always in Pollock Town? Go Down Town, North, East, Centerville.. Love the vids. Thanx fam. I live in Phoenix now. For 9 yrs. I go here when I'm homesick and to get the reality to never go back...lol
As high as property tax is in NJ I could see that Camdon doesn't look as bad as some of the places in your vids. They just need a "don't litter" campaign like they had when I was a kid.
I grew up in Camden actually Cramer Hill a part of Camden. Walked the streets day or night without fear. 55 years have sure changed the landscape. We were definately not rich barely middle income but neighborhoods had some pride.. Taking jobs over seas, no jobs means no money . No money means what you see in these videos.1 question why do we need people to come here illegally when we can't or don't care for those who were born and raised here?I think maybe politicians care for the votes from illegals. . Also the power they receive not the U.S.A. TERM LIMITS for all.
Dog had the bbq on the corner with the inflatable palm trees 😂 way to make something out of nothing you should have stopped and got you a burger they use to do that in the parking lot of a corner store by my old hood and it was low key the bbq chicken I've ever had

Went to a McDonald's there once when driving thru. 40 plus people there and I'm the only white guy. I painfully stuck out. They couldn't have been more cool about it tho. Super nice southern charm. I could see how they got some hard parts of town tho
I wanted to see this documentary having seen one yesterday that identified Camden, NJ, as the absolute worst place to live in America. I suppose it depends on one's point of view. The locals seem well-fed and fashionably dressed, but entropy seems to be winning.
Tom Bruner the Murder Capitol of the Country! Camden ain't safe for nobody! If you Black and don't mind your business... You're dead! If your White ( you best be buying drugs) or you'll never return home!
Don't the local council / authority fix the roads and walkways ? If our roads looked like that( here in Scotland) ,they would be paying so much compensation, their workers would be working 24/ 7 . to make it right .

Because rent is basically 0, they have money for ok cars
Indicative of a great nation, even during our less than stellar days. The impoverished areas of town still boast a comparatively high quality of life

Hay Charlie, what sort of car you driving? With all that squeaking and squeeling it sounds like your in a Sherman Tank! lol Mind you have to be in a tank to drive around some of the places you visit !
It's a work van, and it's a 2016.
Sounds like my plumbing work van. It's full of tools and parts.
It's a RAM promaster van.
Lol it does sound like a tank sometimes.
Maybe Charlie should trade in the Tank and fly around in a Apache Longbow while filming.
Great footage. Beautiful video. The trash cans definitely give this neighborhood a homey, warm fuzzy feeling.

I would like to see inside of these old houses
No you dont
laikhal le meithal the Roaches and rats would eat you up alive! Besides the smell of collard greens and salt pork! Smells like someone cooking shit!
Joel Spivak shut up bitch
Why? To count the dead bodies?
Damn those roads are so beat up
Lets just blame it on the people and how they made those roads messed up and expect normal average people to rebuild streets
You've obviously never been to NEPA where I live where you can literally swim in potholes.
I live in R.I. and N.J. and R.I. have the worst roads and highest insurance in the country!!#

Is it a dangerous area? Are there gangs?

Where do you mean everywhere? I thought that the prime of street gangs in the USA were in the 80's and the beginning of the 90's.
