Sebastian shows high EQ. A breath of fresh air in the “gay scene”, really enjoyed listening to him. Would love to chat to him and share experiences. The interviewer did a good job getting him on the show and knows how good Sebastian is at being a speaker. Seb is the type of guy that really gives off great personality vibes and his attractive looks is just the bonus. It really boosts his overall appeal. Well rounded man who definitely knows himself.
The interviewer has such a mature and deep level of thinking. He's asked such important and the most obvious curious questions that it has actually helped vanquish doubts of many. And ofcourse sebastian, such honesty in his answers and such a beautiful personality. I wanna wish him all the best.
It is GOOD advice to listen more than you talk when you are in your teens and the FRIENDLY GROUP is twice your age LEARN FROM THEM !!! When I first came out at 18, all my gay friends were the guys at the gym who were late 20s to 60s. I had NOTHING to say, and I was LUCKY they took me under their wing. I learned so much from them and gained 20lbs of muscle! They got me my first 'gay job' as a Go Go dancer and literally saved me from unmitigated party favours that took so many young guys. Still friends with them 25 years later.
Thank you once again Art. Sebastian was interesting because of the things he has experienced. He seems to have learned a lot from where he has lived. His coming out was interesting as well. You keep finding these interesting people to share. I appreciate your effort in the video and Sebastian as well. Thank you for bringing him back in the future.
Sebastian was very entertaining, and a very open and nice guy. his stories where very in-depth, and He made them so interesting and comically at times. I got to admit I really liked Him. I can really relate to how he hit on his friends when he was growing up, but never saw the inside of a club till I was at least 18. My first gay club was an eye opening experience for sure. Very nice talk with Sebastian Art and I love his accent.
GREAT INTERVIEW. Intelligent questions with savvy answers. Little if any talking over and a really fascinating insight into the gay life in Colombia. Personally, I would have never guessed it was that open in the big cities of that country. Keeping a masculine carriage and appearance I'm sure goes a long way in not being a target of homophobes. I've always said if a guy liked femininity they would go for females. Great show.
Watched this to the end and I am happy to feel like I almost know Sebastian having after breaking the ice and he really opened up. Great interview and great guest.
Enjoyed the conversation. Sebastian offered good insight from his days living in Columbia, London, and NYC. He did not have any personal outrageous experiences to share, unlike a couple of your previous guests. However, I will rewatch this again AND would tune in when you bring him back for another show.
That was a very enjoyable podcast. He is very expressive and talkative. I would like to hear more about his time in London and how he got into bartending. I realized that he is the business partner of Danny from Austin who you also interviewed a while ago.
You are correct. There are some darker skinned columbians , but It's like Spain or Portugal. To Americans they look white. To them they see Columbians😂
In Latin America when we say white we mean like blonde blue eyed European like Germans, polish, Irish, Dutch etc! I mean Italians Spanish Portuguese look like Latinos but like yes !
Think Sebastian was spot on with the English climate, all it seems to do now is rain all year. My dad thinks it as changed over the years and we did have colder winters and summer would last longer than two weeks. Its actually pissing down now !! Surprised he said New York is more diverse than London. I think more foreign people live in London now than English. Keep up the good work Art . And yes we need Seb back x
Amazing episode again Art ❤also compliments for finding such amazing guests for podcast, I had to follow Sebastian immediately on insta 🤭 ! Bring him back some time on your channel would be awesome! It was very pleasant to watch
Great podcast. I noticed years ago that my local gay bars were losing customers each month. I blame it on cell phones and apps to meet people. Then you have the health factor where people don't smoke and drink as much as they did in the 1980s and 90s. So many would rather just meet someone to hang out with to party and see what happens. I was lucky that I've met a few great friends over the years with benefits.
Lovely story about the “we must tell your father immediately.” Reminds me not exactly but with the combination of humour and acceptance of my own situation. I was a bit older, and had prepared myself in some ways, and told my mother alone over a dinner out first. She was really supportive. And without much pressure, she said I should really tell my father. My father and I would take walks together back then that usually focused on business matters. Which, for the walk I was planning on telling him, shifted to business and didn’t seem appropriate suddenly to pivot to “hey, by the way, I’m gay.” So I hadn’t told him yet, and my mother afterwards starting gushing about how proud she was of me… which immediately made me think… I need to get to my father before she does because this is not the way I want him to find out! He was super supportive in a sort of “if you’re happy, I’m happy” manner. So I can relate even though my story is definitely a bit different.
Exactly 25 years ago I used to go out to clubs they were fun amazing it's sad how these young guys today it's just the phone apps the internet and connecting with people it's pretty pathetic and really you don't know what the hell you're getting 😵💫😖
That's maybe a small part of it but not the full story. A lot of gay bars these days aren't actually gay-owned anymore and have been bought by major companies who then implement policies/marketing strategies that gradually weaken the bar's identity as a gay bar.
@mattjm24787 That's part of it but people who grew up with apps and cell phones have no social skills and are actually afraid to talk on the phone or very often in person. They'll stand in a bar and text each other rather than speak
The Circuit parties were in different cities! A 'circuit' around the continent Black Party, White Party, Red Party, Toronto Pride, Fierté Montréal.... The 'Circuit' is a different party in a different city every few weeks.
Great interview & his story reminds me exactly of mine. I'm 64 now but I always knew from when l was a boy that l realised l was gay. I tried to tease some of my friends, without being overtly sexual, into doing something but I think all kids experiment at that age. I left home at 17 too, then moved to London to find myself. I always went for older guys too which l think is purely natural for most gay guys. If you've grown up admiring the older man then when you're of an age to act on it of course you will go for older guys. When you talk about references to masc for masc attraction I think you can probably put it down to actual self confidence which is the most attactive trait a man can have. Sebastian's comments about the weather in London l have to disagree with though. Yes some Summers are not that brilliant but we also have some really hot Summers with record temperatures lasting for months. Your thoughts on being touched by somebody when you're working topless as a bartender are more than a bit precious but shows the change in attitudes of today's younger generations. If you don't want your nipples tweaked then put a t-shirt on, it's as simple as that. When l worked as a bartender in London I'd take it as a compliment if that happened & was never an issue. I'd be friendly in my response but also affirmative if they persisted. Sometimes the attention can be unwanted but there's times when it's totally the opposite & appreciated, you have to be careful then not to contradict yourselves. Interesting interview none the less.
OH MY GOD! Seb is the hottest guy you have ever seen ever interviewed- that voice, the body and his vibe- he just oozes charm and sex appeal- confident intelligent- he has it all! More More More!
For me, 66, interesting episode. I spend several months in NY in summers of ‘80 and ‘82. That city was so Gay. Visited again in ‘99. It was so gentrified. Also visited Colombia many times during ‘99 coz i had a boyfriend in Santa Fe de Bogota. I Loved both places. I live in Amsterdam. Still go out but over the years so many bars closed down. What we do have now is big theme parties now once every few months. Bears, Leather, Fetish. Big and wild. 🤪
I’m from Hongkong and the first time when I’m in NYC I didn’t even know I need to tips the bartender because I just order redbull from them! Hahahah for me really not make sense for me
The Colombian is so attractive! No, not because his fab body ( mostly) but because of his grown personality. It s what most gays lack until 35, or frequently never achieve: wisdom. Cool sympathetic guy. Another lesson: this is how rounded a personality a person CAN become ( not guaranteed) when having been unconditionally loved by their upbringers.
The nyc gay clubs are dead sometimes but regular club / warehouses basically are 1/3 gay theses days now cuz it’s better music tbd, personally I want proper disco house and tech rather just top 40 meh
Try pushing 67 now thats old but watching these guys who are living their lives reminds me of the times I was exploring life just as they are. They have no idea how lucky they are to be in a time that is accepting and they can just be themselves where as we went out with a fear for our lives if we were found out so yes I get jealous but more happy for them that they don't have experience the difficulties of he past.
@RayASylvia I agree, I came out at 23 years old and my family still ignores it, they can't deal with it but it's actually funny, I lived a lie for years and now who is living a lie are them. I'm impressed how this generation treats this subject so naturally, they really don't care about it and don't understand why so much attention about it. Whe have to agree that information (good information) works. Nowadays a bunch of assholes are trying to go back in time, my opinion....they won't succeed. We must continue informing the society and spread love and inclusion. Sorry for grammar error and difficult understanding on my comment, English is not my native language and I tried to do my best. I'm open to discuss further this but I don't know know if I will be able to make myself clear with my poor English.
The Russian guy always just interrupts people! He never let's anyone finish their thought or their sentences! Which I find very rude and EXTREMELY annoying. So after the 3rd interruption I just stop talking and listen to see what the other person has to say, if anything---- for a minute or so, and then just excuse myself and find someone else to chat with, while on the way to or from the bathroom, bar, buffet table, etc. I just don't care for rude or ignorant people--- people with no manners. And manners help mske the other person feel comfortable. Why hang out with someone who makes you feel uncomfortable??? Have some manners!!! And don't just grab someone's body parts, don't interrupt when someone is talking, and act like you know how to behave--- when needed. But when it's not needed be fun and enthusiastic (like in bed!). This isn't rocket science after all! You'll get more repeat dates if you're a good listener than you will being a brassy, pushy, opinionated 'talker'!!! I have several Russian friends and even family members, so I know part of the problem is cultural. But if you live here you need to pickup on the culture or you will severely limit your circle of friends! Because you don't observe the small but subtle things, that are very, very important if you ever hope to leave all of the 'newly arrived' and graduate to more exciting and established groups of friends. Sure, people are people, I 100% agree with that, but some people are tiresome and overly problematic, and they just don't treat others well. Pushy and aggressive little bottoms are just plain annoying, as far as I'm concerned! It's just the way it is!
Not that I don’t agree with anything you said…but damn, did somebody hurt you? You kinda just went on a rant like it was a lived experience…not that that’s not allowed 😅
(Response to 21:27 - "Much older boyfriends" segment) It sounds to me like the problem with Sebastian's then-boyfriend of much older years was that he was controlling and manipulative; not because he was merely older. The fact that he was in his 30's may make his behavior look even more bad, but from what Sebastian seemed to be hinting at, the direct issue at hand wasn't age-related. Take note that his gay teen 15y friends, when he was a teen himself, had 'friends' who were 24, 25, older, etc; according to Sebastian. So, did all those relations turn sour? Our English-speaking American/British/Australian/Canadian social culture has a very toxic tendency to antagonize the 'much older partner' within any form of casual relation (romantic, platonic, professional). Hell, it's so much so that we English-speaking nations even write it into a law; which would be publishable by being placed on a sex offender registry. Colombia doesn't even have that. There are power-hungry adults who would manipulate innocent young people like that. And then, there are innocent soft-hearted adults who likewise fall prey to maliciously aggressive teens who has an unhealthy habit of blackmailing adults in order to subdue them. It has nothing to do with who's older. Be fair, please.
I'll bet that, had I not posted this follow-up, some of the very first responses I would likely receive would be some ad hominem diatribe focused on ped*ph**ia; that parents would "do well to keep their kids away from [me]"; that I must somehow "be on the registry [myself]". Mee-mee-mee. Yada-yada-yada. Am I correct?
Oh... "Should parents keep their kids away from you?" is what I'm guessing you're *_now_* going respond; to my follow-up. Am I correct? TH-cam responses have become so predictable; it's way easy to figure out a conversation, before it even happens.

That was a nice long interview. Interesting guy with a lot of gay life experience in different cultures. Next time I would to know in which cities he has been in Europe besides London and how gay life was. @ tik tok gay nice setting. 🥰
I don't understand how gay men have such a low body count. I lived in San Francisco for 12 years and as close as I have kept count, for the 12 years I have a body count of 5,700. I did go to Las Vegas every month for about 10 yrs for a week at a time. I was in a relationship for 3 yrs and found out I was the only one being monogamous. So, to save my relationship I had to agree with having an open relationship. He knew l really didn't want that because it just wasn't me. He pissed me off so I slept with as many as I could. And I had a great time. After a while he wanted to close it again...LOL. Right like I could ever trust him, closed to me, LOL. So, we broke up, my choice. And I was single for about 9 yrs. I had a few "little relationships" more like regular hookups LOL. After 12 yrs I met someone 20yrs younger than me and we lasted 12 yrs until he passed away suddenly. And yes, we were monogamous. And I had a low body count compared to many of my friends. Hell, you can rack up two guys on a Friday nite at the bar, LOL I just think gay guys aren't keeping a good count

He is Ukrainian, not Russian.
I love you❤
Western Europe is like the Northwest of the US.
(Response to 21:27 - "Much older boyfriends" segment)
It sounds to me like the problem with Sebastian's then-boyfriend of much older years was that he was controlling and manipulative; not because he was merely older.
I'll bet that, had I not posted this follow-up, some of the very first responses I would likely receive would be some ad hominem diatribe focused on ped*ph**ia;
that parents would "do well to keep their kids away from [me]"; that I must somehow "be on the registry [myself]".

How much of the Medellin male population wouuld he say is gay or restated how much of the Medellin male population on Instagram is gay? I'd put it around 100%
Can u interview a Brazilian gay guy . I think its similar to Columbia but just curious
