It’s just a joke, it’s a way guys/ppl can tease her earnestly compliment one another simultaneously, you could tell both these guys are very socially intelligent people. Tyson on the other hand wasn’t as socially intelligent in the pragmatic way, but Mike had his own genius instilled in large part by Cus but perhaps just as much or I daresay even more by the incredibly dark and hostile place he grew up in on the streets of Brooklyn/NYC at the time he was there with the awful situation his family to the extent he’d even had one was in. Also because of this, despite his outstanding physical gifts (which height wasn’t among, for a world class super heavyweight anyway, given Mike was only like 5’11” hell maybe even 5’10” (now that he’s older at least lol) though he was always listed as 5’11”. On the other hand, I learned very very young that often the smaller, stockier guys can be the most dangerous/pugnacious ones. Also, given what Mike had to contend with emotionally and psychologically, in some ways he deserves more respect than Ali who earned his share too with his Vietnam situation but also was always a tall handsome beloved charismatic fellow without the dark background Mike had so didn’t face the kinds of dark emotions Mike was constantly struggling against and still is a little thought thankfully he’s doing much better today as far as I can tell (thank God for Cus’s genius in recognizing his talent and then in molding him psychologically, intellectually, and physically the way he did even as an elderly guy, Cus has a real GOAT spirit for that). But yeah Mike’s story is probably more compelling to me, and frankly I don’t know how peak Mike could’ve been beat by anyone, even Ali with his reach advantage and speed, Mike’s speed and power and pugnacious intelligence and viciousness was just unbelievable before Cus sadly died and Mike surrounded himself with grifter clowns and scumbags including that wretched witch Robin Givens, among many others like Don King and the whole Nation of Islam clown show. Legendary meeting of two great man
This footage is gold! Two titans of the boxing world having a laugh with each other is just so beautiful to watch!
The great Cus strikes again👍
Cus really was a centrepiece in 3 different heavyweight eras !! Legend
FACT
Cus gettin' ready to handle Muhammad Ali and probably capable of doing it.
Cus knew how great Ali was and Ali knew that Cus was a great trainer.
Cus would have been arguably the greatest boxer if he didn't get his eye poked by a stick in a street fight when he was younger , hence why he became a trainer & mentor!!!!! He literally breathed boxing more than even Tyson or Ali did 💯
I love this interaction bro. So wholesome giant athletic fighter talking to the master coach and neither can do what the other does but both are part of the same game
i think u just said a Haiku

cus ❤ .. Badass grandpa i ever seen
“Why you gettin’ on guard??” 😂😂😂 the relationship between these two legends is heartwarming 🙂
Right after twlling him to put his guard up.
🤣
He knew what was coming, he literally asked for ir.
yeh that was brilliant.
"You not as dumb as you look" is a huge compliment from Ali.

LOL yeah
More of an insult, especially when said to arguably the greatest boxing coach ever

What a beautiful video, that's two top class gentlemen, which the world still misses.
Just another Tuesday for ol' Cus
I respect and admire them but don't miss them.
Never knew them personally, they have nothing to do with my world.
I don't wake up and think HEY, I miss Cus and Ali. Pretty sure most people don't.
Fairly sure the world is bigger than boxing
@@AhtuMondellook but thats you, other people formed a connection. Just like when you die, your family, or friends, or fans even might miss you, others may not. Just saying because even my mom who hates boxing can admire and admit to the work ethic and great men these two were, as well as acknowledge what they left behind
two legendary men of the world of boxing

This man made a MONSTER and his name was Mike Tyson
No he took a monster and made him a killing machine and than there was no one after Cus that could hold his leash he is the master mind and the craftsmen behind probably the two greatest heavyweights ever easily the most legendary and recognizable
No Cus D'Amato made a MAN and a warrior...Don King made Tyson a monster.
I know you don't mean monster in a derogatory way but Tyson became a despicable human being when he was around Don King after Cus died. He lost his foundations and became easily manipulated especially his evil wife at the time.

From the exact moment Ali started discussing his famous shuffle, Cus had already made up in his mind what he would do. He just had to buy a little time due to his age 😂😂😂 great vid
The split second he started the shuffle, he threw his strike. He really was a legend among legends who trained more legends.
Well, he did know it was coming. He spent the whole exchange preparing for it.
@@Shade84No he didn't. His hearing was so bad at that age that he couldn't even have heard a truck hitting him. He punched Ali out of pure instinct
@@rasmusturkka480 There is zero evidence of that in this video. The two of them are holding a pretty fluent conversation.

😂😂😂😂 Ali a funny brother
Why are you getting on guard 😂
"Cus and Ali" would have been a great reality tv show.
I dunno man, based on the Pilot episode before us, and the fact that reality TV isn't great, I'm glad this is all we have. I do think that a funny skit could be made about black men being untrusting, getting pissed off with encounters with this old white guy until they find out hes conveniently always near a black boxer that takes up for him and his curmudgeonly disposition, explaining it away as indiscriminate, helping to lift brothers up. They then say, this is Cus. He's cool. Then they say, awww ok that's whats up Cuz, then he does a black hand shake thing with them and they say, keep it up, cuz. Then, exhausted at the end of his day having to defend his asshole old white guyness every day, takes his shoes off and says to himself out loud with a sigh..."Fuckin Naggers".
One hell of a podcast
So Pure geniuses. Rest in peace brothers.
Muscle memory. ❤
