Thank you for making this video! I am a teenager living in England (fully Indian btw) and racism against south asians is very normalised here and its people like the Raja Twins who give people an opportunity to be racist and get away with it. Hopefully people see this video and realise and do something about similar creators who are pushing us back✊.
Its not normalized in the UK. To Indians maybe. The other groups such as Pakistanis have always started race riots from the Bradford riots to the West Midland riots since the 1970s. The UK has always had hatred towards Pakistanis but those Pakistanis are tough as nails and smash skinheads. There is a reason boxing gyms are filled with Pakistanis. Then you have Indians in the UK like Rishi Sunak, Priti Patel and Baverman who kiss white backside. Many Indians even joined the EDL against Pakistanis.
I see them all the time and it's really annoying because racism against Indian and south asians is very normalised so when, people, literal indian people doing these cringy horrid videos perpetuating steroetypes, it makes it easier for racism to be justified(it shouldnt be justified obviously but people will do anything to justify thier racism). As a indian person myself even in my day to day life and in school people around me think its funny and not a big deal. this content is setting us back by centuries bro
I'm an afghan and seeing people like that disgusts me. Indians are some of the most hardworking and resilient people on earth. Nobody deserves normalized racism like this.
Have you seen how Indians act towards women online?? Expecially how Indian men act towards Indian women in the comment sections? I love Indian men are getting great like this. You guys now understand how others feel
a few Insta comment sections do not represent the reality. India has a lot of matriarchial societies where women run the family. And marriages are based on mutual respect. Plus our scriptures teach us to respect women as they are seen as reincarnations of Goddesses. Those who sexualize women online are vermins irrespective of whatever nationality they belong to - and its not like men in other countries don't do the same. India is not even top 10 when it comes to p*rnography viewership.
I am a Nepali and I hate how you guys are getting so much hate for absolute no reason other than racism. The dehumanisation of Indians had to be talked about and hats off to you for doing so.
My biggest gripe, as an Indian who has grown up in India, is that the hatred for our own people is mad high in not only our own country but South asian communities in other countries too. Your portrayal of our 'weird' accent and our exaggerated body language is only funny to a certain extent. There are so so many ethnically south asian people in the english speaking countries that have contributed to this. Interesting enough, the target is usually their parents generation. Why? Simply because they have an Indian accent. Don't get me wrong, the desi trauma is real and full fledged, but we have only so much respect as we give to the portrayals of those immigrants that came to your countries. Talking about trauma is not bad. Making fun of our culture and english for appeal most certainly is. I think the first time I saw a good portrayal of ACTUAL indian (one of the indian accents) was in Never have I ever. As a teen entering my 20s soon, that aspect of humanization of our tongue in hollywood was mindblowing to me. Please don't make things harder for the rest of us just because we speak differently from you. Edit: I'm not saying NHIE did not have any problems but I guess the bar was already in hell for me so...
@@westwiz-348t2giti lol I don’t necessarily have a specific solution but I’d say supporting creators (especially smaller) who represent your community in a positive way online is one idea. Also boycotting/calling out whenever you see these types of videos because they’re just rage bait honestly 😴

As someone who has been all over India….. The northern part of India has more in common with Pakistan than the the Eastern and southern regions. They’re like entirely different countries. Imagine everyone calls the European Union - One Country…. That’s what India is. It’s incredible that they are still United despite the cultural differences among states.
This is soooo common and deeply rooted in Indian culture. Some people truly believe that shttng on their own people will somehow make them seem "not like the others" to the racists and white people. They will go out of their way to defile their culture and people's image just to be like, "I'm not like them! I'm just like you! Please love me🥺🥺" You can see this so often in the comment sections of racist videos where hundreds of Indians will say something like "As an Indian, I am ashamed" or "As an Indian, I apologize" etc.... Its the same thing and a result of the same root mentality.
agreed, but at some point certain people do need to change. The hatred doesnt just come from people like the raja twins, but literally from the behavior of some of the newer people moving here. I have nothing against these people but they are often loud, rude, and stick out in the way they dress and act. And you know thats true.
Black woman here and even I've noticed it. I always sigh before I open up the comments on an Indian street food video. All the same jokes. Not funny the 50th time, not funny the 500th time. On that topic, online food discourse is really racist and unfunny. "Upsetting Italians" with bad pizza and spaghetti. Covid jokes under EA food videos, especially in 2020. Like my god, get off the stage! Performative edginess is so corny.
@@TheBrownExperience Wanna know the reason? Dive deep into the internal problems we have - Islamophobia, misogyny, casteism, racism, ultranationalism. Again, people can't elect a guy like Modi and expect to be respected, the guy is a Fascist and Fascist ideology is rapidly taking over India. I can't tell you the amount of times Indians (men especially) say things like "We're the real Aryans" and some equivalent bullshit like the "Brahmin genes" hashtag that trended on Twitter. One TH-camr, Dhruv Rathee is married to a white woman and they recently had a baby, guess the reaction of South Asian men? "We're so proud!" Proud of what? That a brown man got a white woman pregnant? Don't even get me started on their absolute HUNGER for white/fair-skinned women and how absolutely embarrassing it is to witness as a brown woman. They dehumanise us and they dehumanise them too. Let me tell you one thing clearly, a large part of the Indian hate we're getting is because of Indian MEN and their abhorrent misogyny. They're so desperate for white validation, internally, that they support Israel and believe themselves to be a part of the "big boys club" (big countries in this case). Indians have forgotten their past and now wish to be considered equivalent to Imperialist countries and white people. The white validation problem IS internal and deeply rooted, even in people who are crying about racism. If you cannot see or address all these aspects, your crying and whining about racism is meaningless.
Hey I'm a Tamil and I'm from Canada, honestly, it's been getting pretty bad here not just the Indians, but to literally anyone of different ethnicities, growing up in Toronto, I had quite a few black friends, these friends were very accepting and honestly were really intrigued in my ethnicity and history. My friends are honestly super chill and they find it nice how both of our histories are super similar, because of this me personally, I've experienced no hatred from the black community, and my friends always tell me birds of a feather flock together and because of our shared history, they're more than accepting of me This doesn't change the fact, however, there are people who really have a lot of hatred directed to ethnicity groups of all ethnicities to be honest.
Tamils in Toronto earned their respect tho that’s why they get along a bit better generally. You know about the cliques in the 90s that was out there killing skinheads
Are they really Indians or Pakistani/bangladeshis posing/hating on Indians due to their hinduphobia?? That’s happens a lot. As an Indian woman I was literally stopped in the airport by a Pakistani guy for wearing tighter clothing while being brown. That happening in the UNITED KINGDOM is crazy
As a Pakistani I’m so sorry, our nation was built on independence and individuality, the fact that someone had the audacity to intrude on your decisions and judge that is gross, I genuinely would not wish this on anyone, I hope you are alright🫶
The biggest issue i see with content farns like this is that they seem to pander, in a way, to kids and this will normalise negative views on indians at a young age

No problem! Also I don't think you should be afraid in telling people your ethnicity if you study abroad. If people have a problem then they're just projecting their own insecurities. As long as you try your best to assimilate into the new country and its cultural norms then you should be fine. I wish you all the success if you do decide to study abroad!

These stereotypes also affect other South Asians. It’s about image.
Anti-Indian hate and bullying is terrible, but while we’re on the topic - can we also tell Indian online communities to tone down the anti Muslim speech as well? There’s definitely been an uptick of that.
@@Ucfahmad I’m not denying that that’s happening but it doesn’t negate the point that I’m making in the video. Ngl, i used to be guilty of that but now I've matured. I still snap from time to time whenever I see a Muslim being racist against Indians but I'm learning to control myself. It's just too tiring man.
I basically have to detach from a huge portion of social media in Toronto now because of how normalized anti indian hate is. People don't see it as racism for some reason. As a Punjabi Indian, born in Canada I notice a lot of our people bringing our own people down. It’s like we want to disassociate because we aren’t willing to stand on our cultural values since they might not be well understood or popular amongst people in Western countries. It might be a defence mechanism to hate on ourselves so that people from other races don’t do it for us. Its really lame and I love my people, whether they are born in Canada or immigrated from India. I feel like we need to get our shit together and stop being hateful towards ourselves and present ourselves like the strong warriors our ancestors were. Fighting for peace and freedom instead of letting our culture and individuality fade due to conforming to what society believes. Be proud of yourself and instead of hating on immigrants because they don’t act or live like us, we can support them and help them slowly adjust to the new lifestyle of a new country. I also understand that when you leave your home country, you cannot always carry all of your customs, traditions, and nature with you. Countries like Canada have far different norms and rules compared to India. With mass immigration happening like it is in Canada, adjusting slowly while keeping your culture and individuality is important. You cannot expect to get special treatment, some adjustments to a new country need to be made. People are resistant to change. Canadians feel a culture shock to the surge of Indian immigrants. I feel like this was done extremely poorly by the government. And that this is a huge contribution to the recent spike in indian hate.

All these things make me less confident in real life when I walk out and when I go near bunch of white people as I instantly think of what they will think about me. The people who embrace their ancient heritage don't have this problem.

They're so desperate for white validation, internally, that they support Israel and believe themselves to be a part of the "big boys club" (big countries in this case). Indians have forgotten their past and now wish to be considered equivalent to Imperialist countries and white people. Making an enemy of the 20 or so million ppl who make up and control most of this country is the dumbest thing you could do when you have every reason not to.
Atleast you look white. I have brown skin so I can never blend in.
Racism against italians was common in the US, and it was depicted in the films. Same with the irish.

@@TheBrownExperience what kind of South Asians are more in number in UK ? Pakistanis or Indians?
If the pakistanis are more in number ,then it's no surprise that the average Rob and Joe in UK couldn't tell a Pakistani and an Indian apart and lumped both of them under the P word.

I am a small YT content creator and was really scared of showing my face . This was because of these type of people who would find hate and thrive on it , this hate against Indians in general has blown up. They are just adding fuel to fire . Imagine what they would be against others if they can do this to their own heritage.
Hate and stereotypes is underrated, these have caused world wars and justification of ethnic cleansing.

People go to the worst places in India and start judging. Moving from chandigarh to Canada, I genuinely think chandigarh may be better in the world we live in. India may have bad places but that comes with the population and poverty, and every cluture/race has something negative. You can't ignore the beauty and only look at the negatives.

As an Indian person that has been on the internet for a long time I genuinely find it infuriating that we are seen as to be the "safe" option for racistsd to make fun of but what can one expect from a community that as so much of self hate and in fighting, I live in India and I personally haven't seen racism but the online stuff is getting to me ngl.
yh I agree with you in terms of the self hate and divide and rule which still exists in the Indian community. Tbh the online stuff is moreso all from the same group of people (those who want to troll/rage bait). I'd say try to block it out. In real life, it's definitely different

The people who embrace their ancient heritage don't have this problem. Modern Indians, especially in the diaspora, limit their identity to Bollywood and samosas and neglect everything from the past 5,000 years. We're so afraid of looking "communal" or "religious" that we end up leaving so much philosophy, art, science and military achievements on the table. Greece is majority Christian today but they don't have any problem embracing their ancestors achievements even though they were pagan. We on the other hand will go out of our way to insult our ancient culture and limit it to caste and untouchability just to prove how secular we are. Just like some people bleach their skin to be more palatable to Europeans we also bleach the Hinduness out of the "brown"/"South Asian" identity to make it palatable to a Abrahamic dominated world.
Rajat twins are Christian and they are mocking hindu religion and tradition this need to be stop
fr its frustrating as a hindu.
@sriya.s09 yup
I’m a white American who married an Indian from North India. The amount of degrading comments I see on social media is horrific and it needs to stop. There’s a big difference between respectfully addressing issues while having empathy and understanding verses completely degrading and dehumanizing an entire group of people based on stereotypes. I understand this, as well as recognize many good things that come from India. Apparently, many people in the west, at least those online, don’t bother to understand or have empathy because it’s grossly accepted as just being funny while completely ignoring the fact that Indians are human beings just like them.
