I watched the movie last night all by myself for the first time, and somehow towards the end of the film when the 3 children were praying for a miracle so everyone can believe, I started crying for pure 10 min. I do not know why, but all my daily struggles were flashing in my mind and then I felt peace. It is very rare for me to show such emotion from a film, but I cried as I felt I was there, witnessing something. Very powerful movie and yes I believe.
My Grandma used to tell me their story always bevor bed when I was little ... I loved hearing it ❤️ ... to this day it’s my favorite reminder what it means to have true faith ❤️

I can hardly believe my eyes...I'm catholic and all throughout my childhood I recall this story being told me over and over again to strengthen my faith in Mother Mary.. If you delve into the context of that verse and the other verses, Jesus is rebuking the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the religious leaders of that time. Who are they to be called "father" or "master" if they are not good examples? The religious leaders that time have forgotten that they serve God and that they must be good examples to the people. They misuse their authority at that time. Jesus reminds us to focus not on authority and power. After that verse Jesus eventually said: "Let the greatest among you be a servant to all." That is how our priests must be to the people. They must be shepherds who must take care of the flock. The act of calling our priests, "father" existed even during the Medieval Era. "Father" is used to call priests of mendicant religious orders like the Dominicans and the Franciscans. It is like using the term "Rabbi" or "teacher" for priests are part of the Magisterium, the teaching authority of the Church.

To predict is to foretell on the basis of observation, experience, and/or scientific reason. The children were simple souls and each were given different secrets. Everytime when i looked back to the time i got depression and wanted to take my own life i am shaken...thank God and mother Maria for saving my life.... i still remembered that day...i planned everything for my death...then i went to church to ask my Lord for forgiveness...i cried my eyes out like a baby....i told him that i did not want him to save me or change me...just forgive me for what i was about to do...i went home and kept crying and praying...i was going to kill my self the day after. I visited Fatima and when I saw the people fulfilling their pilgrimage there, it gave me goosebumps! I will definitely not miss this movie! And Portugal is such a mesmerizing country overall! I've tested the BEST seafood and sangria there! Their white sangria and vinho verde are absolutely d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! The Portuguese people are so full of life, knowing how to enjoy the life to the fullest! Being a portuguese girl, is really cool that someone took their time to try and give life to such a beautiful story. I grew up listening to this and a lot of legends and tales in Portugal are based on this story. Plus, is really cool to watch talented portuguese actors playing important roles in this movie. I can´t say I am catholic since I don´t believe in a lot of things the bible or church says or defends, but I have faith that there is something bigger than us, and a lot of things that humans fail to comprehend. "Faith begins on the edge of understanding" is a really powerful line. Really pumped to watch this! Btw, for the ones who don´t know why the movie is called "Fatima", is because the sighting of Maria was in the city of Fátima which is a very religious city because of that.
@@mermaidocean9645 i cant remember what documentary it was, but there are photographs of the "miracle" that were kept secret and hidden in a little chapel. when the documentarian finally saw the photos, he wasnt allowed to film them, he said the photos were of a gigantic metallic disc. but the people who were there said the sun split in two and sort of danced around the sky so the documentarian guy was completely caught off guard thinking the photos would show some light anomaly or something. instead just a huge disc. no it wasnt an alien documentary just a documentary about the event. gave me goosebumps.

My family is from Portugal and this story is very much 100% real and has now been passed down. It happened back in 1917 where she visited the three children three times that year. The last time she appeared to them, it marked an event called "the miracle of the sun" in which she performed a miracle to make non believers, believers that day. She is a staple in our religion and society and is very much loved and celebrated even to today. We call her Our Lady of Fatima (Nossa Senhora de Fátima). I'm so happy this movie is being made and shining light to the story. I cannot wait to watch it and see how true to the story they stay.
Theres something about this movie that is incredibly powerful. While yes to all of the faith aspects that are deeply rooted into the narrative, this movie, at least from the trailer, this has a real attention to portray a complex story with multiple themes while offering an audience a time for emotional catharsis while watching. Before my mother had me she asked our Lady of Fatima for a child, and she said to our Lady "Please Mother, let me have a child it doesent matter if it's a boy or a girl, I will love them anyways" after that she got pregnant with me, mi mother though about nameing me Fatima (I don't know about USA, but here in México is very comon to name your children after a saint or a devotion if the parents entrusted his life to them before they were born) but at the moment of choosing my name she had a very strong feeling in her hart that she should name me Luz, after Our lady of la Luz, she's patron saint of the city where I live and I always pray to her on her day.

I have read about this and I remember being in awe that these kids had so much unshakable faith. I am looking forward to seeing this. I think it is no coincidence that movies come out like this in times when our faith is being tested. I def feel like this movie will give hope and inspire people.

I was told the story of the miracle of Fatima from a very young age. It's one of my favorite stories. As a kid and as an adult, it's showed me that it's one thing to say that you believe but another to act on that faith. I also love how this comment section is filled with prayer and words of faith. It gives me more hope for this world, even with the current circumstances. It gives me hope to know that there are people out there who believe in the word and power of God, who act upon it and continue to ask him for help and guidance. People who still pray. Prayer is a powerful thing and we need it now more than ever. The movie looks absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see it! EDIT: I feel I have to say something based on what I've seen. Some people have made replies on other comments that Catholics 'worship Mary' and that's just not true. We're told that God is the almighty father and that he entrusted Mary with a child that would help spread the word of his love throughout the world. That child was Jesus; a man who traveled, helped people, and spread the word of the grace and love of God. A man who fell at the hands of the Romans, who later realized their mistake and slowly believed in God as well. (Hints the "Roman" in "Roman Catholic.") This movie, this story, isn't about praising Mary like a goddess. Mary is a saint in the Catholic church, an angel. Angels come down to earth, spreading God's word and help others follow his plan. Rather if you think the story is real or not is up to you, but it's a story about faith. About believing in God, in other people. The whole reason we're on this earth is to love. Love our friends, love our families, love ourselves, and love God if you have faith in him. We need more love in this world right now, more reminders of love, and less hate. Hate only brings on darkness and we need love to bring us back into the light.

When she walked on her knees into the evening and her father prayed with her, that moment of bonding made me truly understand the bonds between a daughter and father s father but with 2 son's and no daughters, they are fortunate to have the kind of relationship they had. I had tear when i saw that part of the movie...and my only explanation that i could have is how it effected me in my heart and i was jealous...even as a father of son's i wish i had a daughter as well with the same fortitude and courage this little girl has just as sure as all little girls do today. As a old man now its past my time and as fortunate to have to healthy son's... daughter would have been a blessing as well.

@Ave Maria FYI Muslims have a very high respect of Jesus although they consider him just a prophet. What is amazing is that because of that respect towards Jesus, they also have an very high respect of Virgin Mary. Many protestants on the other hand, claiming to be Christians, have very little opinion of her. They just consider her a vessel who carried Jesus in her womb but not worthy of any special reverence....they should learn from Muslims!

Just watching the clip of Fatima..I had goose bumps and the hair raise on my arm. It reminded me when I was a little girl asked my dad about God, Mother Mary and Jesus. If I couldn't see them.. how did I know they were there? My dad told me the story of Fatima. Faith was not seeing, feeling, or by touch. This reminds me of my father. He mocked me for years because of my faith. He told me to let go of my fairy tales and grow up. I just stood there and said that he could slap me until i was down but he will never take away my faith. I can still remember him yelling at me and snarling at me about my love of Christ but all I did was stare at him, I refused to yield to his anger and walked away from him forever. My faith in God has saved me from suicide when my mental illness was too much for me to bear(I got therapy too) and i wasnt going to let a man who made my mother miserable ruin it.

I watched the movie last night all by myself for the first time, and somehow towards the end of the film when the 3 children were praying for a miracle so everyone can believe, I started crying for pure 10 min. I do not know why, but all my daily struggles were flashing in my mind and then I felt peace. It is very rare for me to show such emotion from a film, but I cried as I felt I was there, witnessing something. Very powerful movie and yes I believe.

If you delve into the context of that verse and the other verses, Jesus is rebuking the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the religious leaders of that time. Who are they to be called "father" or "master" if they are not good examples? The religious leaders that time have forgotten that they serve God and that they must be good examples to the people. They misuse their authority at that time. Jesus reminds us to focus not on authority and power. After that verse Jesus eventually said: "Let the greatest among you be a servant to all." That is how our priests must be to the people. They must be shepherds who must take care of the flock.
The act of calling our priests, "father" existed even during the Medieval Era. "Father" is used to call priests of mendicant religious orders like the Dominicans and the Franciscans. It is like using the term "Rabbi" or "teacher" for priests are part of the Magisterium, the teaching authority of the Church.

Everytime when i looked back to the time i got depression and wanted to take my own life i am shaken...thank God and mother Maria for saving my life.... i still remembered that day...i planned everything for my death...then i went to church to ask my Lord for forgiveness...i cried my eyes out like a baby....i told him that i did not want him to save me or change me...just forgive me for what i was about to do...i went home and kept crying and praying...i was going to kill my self the day after. But things changed. They saved me. I have been in depression for many years. I thought of killing myself millions times. But they are always by myself and save me. I m 31 years old now and quite happy with mylife. Thank God and Mother Maria...

I visited Fatima and when I saw the people fulfilling their pilgrimage there, it gave me goosebumps! I will definitely not miss this movie! And Portugal is such a mesmerizing country overall! I've tested the BEST seafood and sangria there! Their white sangria and vinho verde are absolutely d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! The Portuguese people are so full of life, knowing how to enjoy the life to the fullest! Being a portuguese girl, is really cool that someone took their time to try and give life to such a beautiful story. I grew up listening to this and a lot of legends and tales in Portugal are based on this story. Plus, is really cool to watch talented portuguese actors playing important roles in this movie. I can´t say I am catholic since I don´t believe in a lot of things the bible or church says or defends, but I have faith that there is something bigger than us, and a lot of things that humans fail to comprehend. "Faith begins on the edge of understanding" is a really powerful line. Really pumped to watch this! Btw, for the ones who don´t know why the movie is called "Fatima", is because the sighting of Maria was in the city of Fátima which is a very religious city because of that.

@@mermaidocean9645 i cant remember what documentary it was, but there are photographs of the "miracle" that were kept secret and hidden in a little chapel. when the documentarian finally saw the photos, he wasnt allowed to film them, he said the photos were of a gigantic metallic disc. but the people who were there said the sun split in two and sort of danced around the sky so the documentarian guy was completely caught off guard thinking the photos would show some light anomaly or something. instead just a huge disc. no it wasnt an alien documentary just a documentary about the event. gave me goosebumps.

My family is from Portugal and this story is very much 100% real and has now been passed down. It happened back in 1917 where she visited the three children three times that year. The last time she appeared to them, it marked an event called "the miracle of the sun" in which she performed a miracle to make non believers, believers that day. She is a staple in our religion and society and is very much loved and celebrated even to today. We call her Our Lady of Fatima (Nossa Senhora de Fátima).
I'm so happy this movie is being made and shining light to the story. I cannot wait to watch it and see how true to the story they stay.

Theres something about this movie that is incredibly powerful. While yes to all of the faith aspects that are deeply rooted into the narrative, this movie, at least from the trailer, this has a real attention to portray a complex story with multiple themes while offering an audience a time for emotional catharsis while watching. I was told the story of the miracle of Fatima from a very young age. It's one of my favorite stories. As a kid and as an adult, it's showed me that it's one thing to say that you believe but another to act on that faith.
I also love how this comment section is filled with prayer and words of faith. It gives me more hope for this world, even with the current circumstances. It gives me hope to know that there are people out there who believe in the word and power of God, who act upon it and continue to ask him for help and guidance. People who still pray. Prayer is a powerful thing and we need it now more than ever.

EDIT: I feel I have to say something based on what I've seen. Some people have made replies on other comments that Catholics 'worship Mary' and that's just not true. We're told that God is the almighty father and that he entrusted Mary with a child that would help spread the word of his love throughout the world. That child was Jesus; a man who traveled, helped people, and spread the word of the grace and love of God. A man who fell at the hands of the Romans, who later realized their mistake and slowly believed in God as well. (Hints the "Roman" in "Roman Catholic.")
This movie, this story, isn't about praising Mary like a goddess. Mary is a saint in the Catholic church, an angel. Angels come down to earth, spreading God's word and help others follow his plan. Rather if you think the story is real or not is up to you, but it's a story about faith. About believing in God, in other people.
The whole reason we're on this earth is to love. Love our friends, love our families, love ourselves, and love God if you have faith in him. We need more love in this world right now, more reminders of love, and less hate. Hate only brings on darkness and we need love to bring us back into the light.
Do you believe that Jesus is the son of God? We believe that God is one and that Jesus is a prophet, but most things in our religion are similar. For example, the purpose of our creation is to love and serve God. I have read the bible and quran. In the Bible, it is written that there will be a prophet named Ahmed, have you ever researched it?

When she walked on her knees into the evening and her father prayed with her, that moment of bonding made me truly understand the bonds between a daughter and father s father but with 2 son's and no daughters, they are fortunate to have the kind of relationship they had. I had tear when i saw that part of the movie...and my only explanation that i could have is how it effected me in my heart and i was jealous...even as a father of son's i wish i had a daughter as well with the same fortitude and courage this little girl has just as sure as all little girls do today. The accounts of our Lady of Fatima are still considered to be recent. The bible was compiled and produced during the time of the Holy Roman Empire whereas the miracle in Fatima took place in 20th century, these are testimonials by actual witnesses. Mama Mary, the Lady full of grace who carried the child of God, Jesus Christ thru the Immaculate Conception is written in the bible. The nun was right, "faith is found at the edges of understanding".
This reminds me of my father. He mocked me for years because of my faith. He told me to let go of my fairy tales and grow up. I just stood there and said that he could slap me until i was down but he will never take away my faith. I can still remember him yelling at me and snarling at me about my love of Christ but all I did was stare at him, I refused to yield to his anger and walked away from him forever. My faith in God has saved me from suicide when my mental illness was too much for me to bear(I got therapy too) and i wasnt going to let a man who made my mother miserable ruin it.
The miracle of Our Lady of Fatima from 1952 is very good. Will be hard to top!

@@wingedhussar6624 I cannot agree with you. Yes, Fatima was the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad but that has little to do with anything. The Holy Mother has great love for the Muslim people as she does for all other religions. Maybe this is why she picked Fatima, Portugal. This was a miracle from God to show the world that he exists.
Maybe you're referring to the dressing of the people. This was the original dress code for Catholics especially for women. God commands in 1 Corinthians 5-7 "5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head."

If i came out of islam it would mean that i was apostatized and would face many conflicts by the people around me. Ezzat Danial God is calling you out of it, being honour to his name by standing for the truth. Many of the early apostles and disciples were matyred because they stood up for Jesus being the Son of God. The book of John describes him as the Son of God so people like you can understand if you are willing to look for it.
