    Battlestar Galactica was one of the greatest space epics ever in my opinion.

    That final episode with Starbuck and his makeshift cylon pal was brilliant.

    With the success of Star Wars clone wars animation, universal could do a continuation, it would be a hit!

    Between about 1980 and 1995 I was a huge Dirk fan, Then I met him and Hatch. I met both on different occasions. I became a bigger Hatch fan and was put off of Dirk. Good looks only get you so far

    The original Battlestar Galactica should have been two-hour movies four times a year as originally planned. The Network rushed them into doing a full series and the writing suffered. They would have had time to write better scripts if it was only four times a year for sweeps' week. And then it would have been a "special event" when it was on and got huge ratings. The show could have stayed on for five years.

    I actually didn't mind BSG 1980.

      Some episodes were decent, but some were downright dumb. The last episode with Starbuck was the best.

      @@styx53ocean That was a great one, reminiscent of 'Enemy mine'.
      I liked the charm and style of it. It was unapologetically old fashioned adventure with goodies, baddies and some cool designs. Sure it was cheesey at times but it had cool characters like Starbuck and Apollo (before they castrated his character and turned him into a butch female to satisfy the 'woke' crowd).
      Nowadays everything has to be complex and 'subvert expectations' and male heroes can't be too strong or cool in space adventure properties else it's 'patriarchal oppression' lol. A good old fashioned space adventure with all the tropes is welcome in my book.

      @@aaronbarlow4376 I watched a couple episodes of the "reboot" and HATED it. Even though I'm female, I thought the recasting of Starbuck, Boomer, and other characters as female was a bad idea. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!! The recent "woke" movement is a bunch of bullsh*t. Look what they did to the Star Wars sequels!! The Force Awakens wasn't a bad movie, at least in my opinion. The Last Jedi had its moments, but mostly it sucked b*lls. Thank God they wised up in time to save The Rise of Skywalker. I may be in the minority, but I liked it. I wish they had given more attention to Finn being Force-sensitive.

      @@styx53ocean Amen. The worst thing about the sequel trilogy was the way they destroyed Luke. Wokists feel they need to destroy iconic male heroes to make way for their female replacements but Mary Sues are poor, badly written replacements by definition as they have no real character development, no character building failures or setbacks, no defeats at the hands of more experienced, more trained opponents like Luke who failed in the cave, lost a hand to Vader, fell into the Rankor pit, was pwned by the Emperor and was shown up by Yoda with the X-Wing. Rey was instantly perfect at everything, defeated Kylo in a lightsabre battle and mind battle with no training at all, even knew more about the Millennium Falcon than Han Solo??!!! Give me a break!

      I enjoyed it greatly, but I certainly would have much preferred that they just did a second season ( or more) of the actual show. Continuing from Hand if God

    The days when fans of the original still had high hopes for a continuation/revival. Until an egomaniac named Ron Moore came along to ruin things forever.

    • @FanboyFilms
      @FanboyFilms 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Was he an egomaniac? I mean, Larson pitched a revival, Hatch pitched a revival, Moore pitched a remake, and Universal picked the one they liked best I guess. I would have preferred a revival or at least a "Next Generation" style continuation myself. Apparently Moore went to some conventions of original series fans and took his lumps and Hatch was impressed by him and that's how they became friends and Hatch got written into the remake series.

      @c.k.shortell7761 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@FanboyFilms I resisted the Moore version for years, then binged it about 8 years ago. It was truly great and paid homage far more to the original BSG than I thought it would (even pulling the idea of human looking colons from the dreadful Galactica 1980). Hatch’s remake would have been great too, and his books were really good. But unfortunately, it never happened...I love both the original BSG and the Moore remake.

      I can't stand Ron Moore or the whole crews disrespect

    • @epaddon
      @epaddon ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@FanboyFilms Not correct. There was going to be a next generation revival done by Tom DeSanto and Bryan Singer that got derailed by 9/11. They then had to move on and Universal hired Moore and it was Moore who singlehandedly did his bastardization of the material to stoke his own ego. By then he was the only one around. As for Hatch, he simply allowed himself to be bought off with a meaty acting part and the only reason Moore wanted him was to neutralize him as a voice for the original series fans upset by his version to rally to.
