Hope you guys enjoyed my new vlog! I've been getting a few questions about my experience studying fashion design, so I am planning to make a video on it. If you have anything you want to ask please feel free to leave any questions down below or in the comments ☺️☺️☺️
What level of studying are you now? Also how long have you been sewing?
What are all the different classes you have and what do you learn there?
Is the course hard if you are a complete beginner? Would it be hard if I am moving to a new city alone? I've never lived alone so kinda scared.
With the cost of the fabric and photographer and stuff how does that work with the uni paying for it or is it up to each student what they buy ?
How did you start learning how to sew? And as a design student, which one do you find harder, sewing or drawing? Love your fashion deisgn vlogs, don't stop doing them!

The airbag coat surprised me, I thought I knew what to expect after you made such a cute top but I wasn’t read. The reveal of the back was such a pleasant shock, I loved it! The car seat set was SO crisp. Those pants looked so wearable 💕

After a year I'll enter fashion designing course. I just learn how to sew, like just this year. I don't even have a sewing machine to practice, however I can sew using just my hands. And I dream of a model walking my creation and just admire my own thing😂 like it is the most beautiful creation that has been made...

I wanna do the fashion design course at QUT but like do I need to have pre-existing skills before I apply ? like I can sew just cant draw to save my life. do they teach you in the first year or is it expected I know already ?
No you dont need pre-exisiting skills! Just need to be able to show your creative potential~ I was the opposite to you actually! I knew how to draw but not to sew haha

I didn't think you'd reply haha I have another question if that's alright, so I'm in grade 12 right and I noticed one of the QUT prerequisite's was creating a portfolio how would I go about creating one that would effectively make me seem like a good applicant do I even need to do one? or cause I'm still a student it doesn't matter as much and mainly meeting the ATAR/OP requirement ? anyway thank you for responding my serotonin levels are through the roof right now
No worries! Glad I can help ☺️ I'm honestly not sure what's happening now since it's been four years since I applied! So I would assume a lot has changed because there's also new fashion courses, like dual degree with business or international fashion. I don't know much about the new courses, but I did the Honours degree which I think required OP8 or above at the time. I'm sure the requisites are listed on pages! But in regards to the portfolio, I remember having to do a task that they outlined in a PDF on the application page. I also provided other works like my highschool artworks, attempts at photography, fashion drawings and other creative works etc to fill the pages. I think it's just important to show your creativity, conceptual thinking/research! But honestly my portfolio was awful, so I assume it was my OP score that allowed me in 😅🤣
