- Drag Race Philippines Season 3 Episode 8 Lalaparuza Reaction! The 8th episode of Drag Race Philippines is out and the queens started with a mini challenge where they played a party game where that was similar to a piñata hitting. It was fun to watch. Then the queens got ready for the ultimate lip sync for their life! There was a total of 4 lip syncs in which if you win the lip sync you get to stay in the competition! It was Myx Chanel vs Tita Baby. Titay baby won. Then Angel vs Khianna. Angel won. Then Maxie vs Zymba. Maxie won! The 3 winners then got to chose who would be safe and the remaining 2 would be lip syncing. Khianna was saved and the final lip sync was Myx vs Zymba. Zymba won the final lip sync and Max Chanel was eliminated! What did you think of the 8th episode?! zymba performance against maxie was so messy... she overdo it.. she did so many unnecessary stunts plus the timing with her stunts was off.. maxie slayed the lipsync and really embody the song

Maxie and Zymba was NOT CLOSE. You saw the fear in Zymba’s eyes. And maybe the language barrier kindah gave you the impression that Zymba did better. Because there is nothing Zymba did that even remotely conveyed the song. She just had a bundle of tricks and spread them out during the performance.
angel ate their lipsync DOWNNNN. she definitely gagged khianna! and maxie's wig reveal into the same wig made me laugh harder than it should've lmao
Maxie slayed Zymba. She understood the strategy of building up momentum. Everything in her lipsync was intentional, but she made it look effortless. Even when Zymbading was blocking her from view, she commander attention.
Zymba gave it her all right in the beginning and while she was doing stunts, they looked uncoordinated and lacked cohesion. She also was all over the place so you can't appreciate her lipsyncing at times. Finally, she was rightfully called out in Untucked for blocking Maxie from view multiple times in their performance.
Tita Baby would never have attempted dips, she always talked about bad knees and hips and as part of her auntie brand, she did a comedic type fall, like in ep.1 voguing challenge. Angel’s lipsync was the bestest best in this episode, so great to watch her and Khianna fight it out
Nah besties, Maxie won that lip sync against Zymba. Maxie's dance moves match perfectly with the song, and her mouth was MOUTHING

I agree with all of what you both said except for Zymba-Maxie lip sync. Maxie DEVOURED, she won it fair and square, the mouth was mouthing, the timing, the dance moves 10/10. I loved Zymba's performance too but I have to agree with Tita Baby, she looked so nervous and did so many stunts that we can't see if she's still lip syncing and it was kind of messy Majority of Filipino drag community agreed that Maxie won.
I think it just wasn’t easily clockable but Zymba did actually look nervous before the song started, they didn’t catch it. She still have a good fight but couldn’t possibly hold against Maxie’s damn combo moves
Maxie won that lipsync way oveeeeeeeer Zymba. Not even close. Zymba was only doing the stunts but Maxie lipsynced the song.
6:22 Zymba's phrase was translated into "sort out the sheep from the goats" because "mapaghihiwalay 'yung de color sa puti," a phrase colloquaillly used for laundry, literally translates to "separate the coloreds from the whites" which can definitely sound wrong when without explanation.
It annoys me how every time Angel says "Puksaan na!!" they translate it to "Time to work it." "Puksa" means "to slay" so I think a more accurate translation is "Slay the house down!"

"puksa" in English translates precisely as "exterminate", hence it could also mean "TO KILL". 'puksaan' is a noun. In analogy, if FUCK is to FUCKERY, then PUKSA is to PUKSAAN. The 'na' in "Puksaan na'... refers to a time. 'na' in English translates precisely as 'already' or 'right now' or just 'now'. ................................ so PUKSAAN NA in English translates literally as EXTERMINATION IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW....... BUT we all know that it's not how they meant it... they just simply meant "TIME TO SLAY" or "TIME TO DESTROY"..
Love me my Zymba, but Maxie won that 100% Zymba was trying immediately to hard from the start that theres no where to go throughout the song it just looked “too much” and messy.
This Top 6 is so strong🔥🔥🔥! Those lipsyncs were ALL topnotch! And the wins could have gone to the other girls and I wouldn’t be mad because the matchups were all so close.

Maxie was literally part of an HIV campaign years ago.
I'll be an apologist for her this instance, and would say, it's the DR superfan in her that was hurt, and she said things that just came out of her mouth that time, and I understand why that happened. Them words were so misguided, but she gotta own to them now, and might get fire on the web for it.

Also ironic that the statement came from the supposed "host" of the bunch, and arguably one of the most intelligent in the cast. Which makes it seem like she DELIBERATELY wanted to be hurtful.

Myx CHOSE those words HERSELF. For someone who speaks eloquently, she knew what words to say at that moment. If her intention was not to shade the other queens, she could’ve phrased it differently but NO SHE SAID WHAT SHE SAID and we finally saw the REAL myx chanel
I think Myx got carried away by her emotions. Being eloquent means nothing when you're completely overwhelmed. The competition was tough and everyone knows it, she tried her best but she knew and probably everyone knew she was the bottom here. Zymba even said "It's okay if you don't save me as long as you don't pick Myx because I can beat her on the lip sync"
After all Myx isn't known for her the lip sync. I think she was trying to set up her brand one last time before leaving. She wants others to know what sets her apart from the other queens and that was her last desperate attempt albeit came off distasteful.
Myx was not my top pick in the race but with that said I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt. She came so close to the top 4 you can literally see how devastated she was when she entered the work room. Let's not judge her entire personality based on this one thing she said.
Maxie was a beast during the lip sync. The confidence she exuded right off the bat. That could have backfired if she underestimated Zymba, but Maxie didnt. She was like a predator slowly timing to eat her prey and Zymba was tumbling, twirling, doing all she can in the beginning. When Maxie removed her yellow dress, it was over. Her timing, movements had oomph just like how Marina times her dance moves. Zymba was amazing and doing everything but Tita Baby hit the nail in the head. She was like a top continuously moving but lacked I guess finesse. In a few years, with more experience, Zymba will kill it. For now, Maxie clearly dominated and she did not underestimate her opponent which was great of her.
Maxie killed that lipsync, zymba was too desperate. But the last one with myx vs zymba was so good

Maxie deserved that win! It feels like Zymba always wanting to block Maxie on stage. Not sure if it’s coming from a place where she was very anxious because she will be battling against Maxie, but she hasn’t learned yet how to share the stage - to shine with her own spotlight without stealing the spotlight of her co-performer. Zymba is young and in time, we know that she’ll learn how to do it like Myx and Khianna did in their performances.
zymba also said in one of her tweets that that lipsync performance felt like 10 years ago and criticized herself for the no pacing thing just like maxie said in the episode so yeah

Definitely you were fixated to the person who was doing the most stunts, but was actually messy and unnecessary.

also, after this episode, angel is definitely in my top 5 queens ever. she's so INSANELY funny i laugh everytime she speaks, which is rare for me.
John and Myx's elimination were my least favorite eliminations.
It's inevitable that with drag race, we get some unfairness and they'll just throw it to the viewers as "it's still a tv show". I'm sad for Myx. Also, Zymba was so salty and can't take banters when Myx did not intend any malice about that comment so understandably, Myx would feel bad on that uncalled for clap back. On the other hand though, Myx's parting words after the lip sync is definitely unwarranted.

Maxie vs zymba, I'll give it to Maxie. If zymba didn't do the back bending walk multiple times and had a low to high energy pacing, she could've won that.

I agree with all the winners in those lip syncs except for the last one. Myx should have won and stayed but oh well, with drag race, there'll always be some questionable decisions. Maybe all for storylines? Tita Baby and Angel perfectly called it that it's not all about tricks and stunts but they should also embody the song. We do have our biases but fairly to me, Myx should have won because she did feel the song whereas zymba relied yet again (and too much) on her tricks and stunts. We can give a pass to that last bit where she was rolling because that was actually good but overall, I still believe Myx did a better lip sync interpretation.
I thought Zymba did well enough and not too much. She literally switched her aura to embody the song. Myx I thought just did her rusical character 😅

My thoughts based on the edit we were given:
1. Tita baby won the first having alot of nuances and restraint. But yeah Myx gave a very close fight. Btw, that stunt Myx did 26.:43 was lame af lols. Darn she looks like Manila with that mug.
2. Angel won that second also due to how nuanced she delivered it and her mouth did that rap like she was the one really singing. Although that cartwheel trick and that reveal was sloppy.
C. Hands down Maxie. She paced herself and that similar looking wig reveal was so stoobid 😅
D. I believe Myx did the last song the most justice. She understood the lyrics and it's meaning and delivered.
My take, alot of dancing queens, even in the US & UK franchises tend to struggle with Lalaparuza's as most have the instinct to pull all stops and smash the floor with their dance skills. Thing is, though, it is still a lipsynch and embodying the songs meaning is important (atleast for the show).
Lastly, that statement from Myx before making her final line, was dang messy. I guess we can understand how devastated she was and may not have been in the perfect headspace, but it's on camera, and it's out in the world now, so yeah.

Same reaction when Maxie came into the weekroom. I honestly thought it was Zymba. Zymba might have done lots of tricks but FOR ME it worked on her favor to the point that she caught my attention all throughout. Maxie, on the other hand, used her strength as well, focusing more on lip syncing but her hair was too messy to watch. Her command on the stage was so strong and so was Zymba's. At least I wasn't the only one thinking Zymba should have won.

1. Angel vs. Khianna - Khianna started off strong, but Angel finished stronger! She played her cards right in this lip sync!
2. Zymba vs. Myx Chanel - for context, Zymba bodied that performance to a tee! What she did fits the song so well. It's one of those lip syncs where there's a clear winner (but Myx did great, too!)
THE TOP 6 are all DESERVING for the CROWN ... WOW !!

lol i think that person's name is "Jae L. Espinosa" because it's common to have a middle name there. zymba was nowhere near maxie in performing that song. zymba was performing another song while maxie pulled in roxxy andrews, monet exchange and marina summers all in one performance. zymba was relying too much on tricks that didn't go with the song. maxie was performing the song. zymba was performing with the song. two different styles. one changes depending on the song and one you can pretty much cut and paste into any other song.
