Little piece of trivia for you guys under the break (spoilers obvs)…
Don't feel too bad for Pete. The $250,000 question he missed was later ruled to be flawed, and was invited back to go for the quarter million again!
When he returned, he walked away with $125,000 in an unaired segment.
Was it due to there being more than one answer?
I assume it was because (spoilers)………
The MI theme ORIGINALLY peaked at #41… but in 1996, when the Tom Cruise movie was released, it hit #7 on the charts.
Glad they invited him back. I could see where the confusion came in.
I didn't think it was The Rockford Files. I still hear that theme from time to time while watching nhl games; therefore, it must have been very popular in its time.
There were a few others. I read on the old forums that Ian Reifowitz actually came back to try for $500k again.
Another contestant, Lori Bailey (whose run is on TH-cam) was also invited back as well
One of my students told me that he found the episode on which I appeared. It's amazing to me that people are still watching it all these years later! I had a blast. Feel free to "ask me anything" about it. :-)

@@aztec0996 we spent the money paying off debts, saving for retirement, and going on a babymoon to Italy. Before taping the show, my wife and I agreed that once I won $125K (which was life-changing money for us) I would never guess. So I have no regrets.
@@aztec0996 the first thing I purchased was a celebratory dinner for my family the night of the taping, and unlimited rounds of drinks at the hotel bar for my fellow contestants.
Were you nervous at all?
@@jackiwheeler6963 Sure. But you can see that, after I won the $32K, I gave a big sigh of relief and relaxed, because I knew it was all gravy after that point.
"One of my heroes is Colin Powell". That aged well.
Eric is a prime example of how grueling that hot seat can be. He wanted to go Calvin but he valued $125k dearly. I don't blame him for walking especially after watching what went down just before his turn.
He reasoned it out perfectly, though the main thing he didnt mention was: what opportunity would a wild animal have of being near which? Tenders wear cologne and aftershave, but glade is in an office at the zoo.

@@Kid-Pink_88. I meant that the whole experience, including the money of course, was the experience of a lifetime. And I suppose that still stands up. Anytime it comes up at a party or over dinner, people really enjoy hearing the whole story of the day.
The captain got full of himself. He made a silly wild guess.
At least he didn't cheat like the British Major charles ingram did in the UK version of Millionaire.

At some points Eric's mother looks like the awesome face meme.
The last question makes perfect sense when you think about it. Ocelots are outdoor animals and air fresheners are used exclusively indoors. Where would an ocelot even come in contact with an air freshener? It's much more likely that a zoologist was wearing the cologne and was followed by a bunch of them in their exhibit.
