Chris D'Avanzo great vision, I can totally see that. The best shot is definitely the quick zoom-out as the music stings out. That’s one thing Millionaire USA never did quite as well as the UK edition - timing camera movement to the music. I will say, this open is really similar to the Super Millionaire open, minus the zipline lights from SM.
A "stirrup cup" is a parting drink given to guests as they are leaving...when their feet are going into the stirrups, figuratively speaking. It can also be a decorative cup given at a fox hunt.
Meh. Some were but the woman really butchered her lifelines. I’m not exactly Harvard educated, and I knew Clarence Darrow, as I’m guessing 80% of the audience also knew.
@@Benjamin-ip5vk I was almost 2 when the Regis era premiered. I started watching the show in 2001 with my dad when it was on ABC until 2002, then I got more into the show in 2004 when I was 6 due to episodes being aired on GSN.
For British scholar the lifeline helper said D almanac Regis, changed it to C. He gave the contestant a chance to win more money, which is good the questions are tough.☺
@@WWTBAMclassics Nope; she said "C." He responded "Almanac?", which was D, and she just kept on with being pretty sure without acknowledging his "Almanc?" Regis then clarified for him that she had said "C."
That guy’s phone a friend was a disaster. It always kills me when the contestant and the caller are both in la la land. Read the question and the answers - read them again - ask if they know - tell them how many seconds are left
Who doesn't know that Great Whites (and many other shark species) have to keep moving to keep water flowing over their gills? I thought that was common knowledge.

Which episode had this as a question: “Halley’s Comet appeared the night before which historic battle?”
New mexico
The opening camera sequence on this episode is intense. I love it. Wonder if there was a substitute director on this episode.

Totally agree, those initial shots are just legendary. Too bad they were only used for around 8 episodes.

That Great White Shark question was kind of hard
I swear David’s questions were brutal.
Thank you!!! That was me, and I agree!
That host entrance is so dang excellent!
Agreed
Is it just me, or does this episode have hard questions?
Meh. Some were but the woman really butchered her lifelines. I’m not exactly Harvard educated, and I knew Clarence Darrow, as I’m guessing 80% of the audience also knew.
It’s not just you. I was the one in the hot seat (David), and the producers even said I got screwed when I walked off.
They only hard if you don't know them :D
That $1000 question was just...bizarre. Like I'm glad that she got it right in the end, but watching it just felt off for some reason.
It threw me for a loop.
It should have been $16000 or $32000.
That woman should have been arrested for using the 50/50 AND phone a friend on a question under $1000 instead of just asking the audience 🙄
I don't know what you're talking about but at least I don't have to turn the volume on my 📱 phone down:)
Those camera angles at the beginning were unexpected 😮
"dry run" comes from fireman practice they say, but thought it was from moonshiner's driving routes practice or post-delivery . . .
0:00 drugs, that’s what I’m working on.
Haha good starting point.
I miss Regis...
Me too bro.
Regis Philbin was one of my favorite game show hosts since I was 3.
@@robbyosborne9708 Same! That's how old I was when WWTBAM premiered with him.

First set were unusually hard for low level questions
For the Phi Beta Kappa College Question I probably would have gone with either William And Mary or University Of Virginia.

No she said "C"
Wow, @8:08 I swear she says "B"... He hears D? And Regis hears "C"? I'm confused...
I thought she said D… she definitely didn't say C tho. Think Regis misheard
@@WWTBAMclassics Nope; she said "C." He responded "Almanac?", which was D, and she just kept on with being pretty sure without acknowledging his "Almanc?" Regis then clarified for him that she had said "C."
I thought she said D.
Phnom Penh was a easy question. Maybe because i trained a lots of capitals in all countries
it was my inkling but not sure for me, but once he 50/50d I was screaming dude bankok is the capital of thailand! easy!
Great white shark constantly moving to get oxygen?? What the hell did i learn in school. Dont they breathe water?

Live long and prosper
That cup question threw me off.
Marie was cute
Damn these were hard questions right off the bat

Common knowledge is not common
thought bill was charley sheen at first
