I think XTB has the best “looking” menasor the proportions and metallic paint is hard to beat but I’d be lying if you didn’t need a campus, super glue and 15 hours of prayer before putting that thing together lol so with that being said Dx9 definitely has the best functioning Menasor.
It’s funny because a lot of people seem to have said no to DX9’s because of some asthetics and lack of paint, yet will choose XTB’s which is basically not functional and will test your will to live.
XTB was my first choice at the beginning, but the engineering and the price, plus the way they release the whole set have really disappointed me. FT has the best quality for sure, but can’t say much since their whole team hasn’t complete yet. DX9 just became to the most fun and economic friendly choice simply cuz of XTB 😅. Although DX9 isn’t the best, but clearly it has its own advantage, and it’s a big advantage
Fantastic combiner... definitely under appreciated. Once you add an upgraded 3D printed face and go with the kit that flips the cars to the front of the legs he becomes absolutely stellar.
This is a really great set. The bots are good, if not as good as Fans Toys, and the vehicles are mostly great (the trailer is way too long). But that combiner is so solid and scales perfectly with Toy World/Zeta! I highly recommend the leg kit. It lets you take the cars and put them on the front, facing up or down. I'm usually a cartoon accuracy guy, but I prefer the cars on the front of the legs. With the kit, this entire combiner is super stable and looks right. The cars aren't going anywhere with that kit. I am getting Fans Toys for display in Stunticon and Aerialbot bot modes, but this is my Menasor on display. Really happy with it. It's a shame we lost this company as a designer of new figures. I have Omega on the way, and their Powerglide is extremely good.
Just a heads up with your transformation: At 4:55 ...be careful when you're swinging the hips out to the side. The hips are geared together, so they should be moved at the same time as well. Lay it flat, hand on each hip joint, and move them out at the same time. At 4:59 this is where and how I've seen breaks. One leg can end up being over stressed as you've not only have to apply force to swing it out, you also have to apply enough to engage the gearing that pops the other hip out too. If it stresses too much it's possible to get either cracks or breaks around the screw holes on the black plastic. That is the area that's most likely to give first.
@@TMReviews If you don't visibly see anything you're probably ok. The cracks and breaks I've seen have been dramatic. If it happens, you'll know it lol. The black plastic is a harder less dense plastic than the grey. I'm sure they did it for weight saving, but like metals...harder can also means more brittle.
He's easily a great Menasor, but what really drove me to buying the XTB version was the cohesiveness in its color scheme.The darker underarms of the trailer section actually have yellow and red (obviously depending on the arms) to make it look like the vehicle is fully a part of the limb instead of just hanging onto it. Plus the detailing just looked better to me, but that's subjective so... I may have actually gone for the FansToys one, but let's face it nobody's actually seen that thing.
Yeah from what I can gather dx9 Stunticons are the best ones that came out the only problem is that the hips have two ratchets that make the transformation a little difficult and it's been known to break. If you could make a video or instruct anyone how to take the ratchets off the hips that would be great
Very nice. Like u it seemed I chased for over a year. Well worth the wait & add on custom kits. This was my favorite DX9 release a close 2nd Blitzwing after custom paint 🎨......everything else not so much. FYI with the custom back filler it frees up Motormaster which is genius
Finally got him and found the leg connector piece that holds Dead End in place. Also got the Deception insignia for the chest so I'm good. Thank you for all the videos as I just started collecting 3rd party Transformers just a few years ago and I've missed out on quite a bit but, thanks to reissues and collectors selling their collections, I've managed to pick up some at really good prices. I originally thought they were knockoffs so I never bothered with them until I got frustrated with Takara Tomy not releasing quite a few of my favorite characters in Masterpieces.
This set is actually *gasp* fun. The XT gestalt is an absolute nightmare in comparison. Sure the XT gestalt looks good, but is there really any enjoyment in transformation or handling the combined mode? Dx9 may not have the best looking Stunticon set, but it definitely has the most playable. There's no fear of damage or paint scrapes in handling this. I predict in the long run this will win out and retain value more so than the XT and will go toe to toe with the FT.
Hey Sony awesome review, there's a little button that u press on the side and it opens the inner thighs to reveal details, it actually looks really nice I saw it on Sun of the empire review, I think if x-transbots had the stability that this behemoth has it would be awesome, cause I like the look of their Menasor much better, this 1 to me us a little to plain but stability wise from all the reviews I've seen he's a joy to have...🙏🙏📹👍
XTB just stuck in the mid between DX9 and FT😅 I went for DX9 for combine mode and FT for individual bot atm. DX9 gives me the fun of transformation, Ft gives me the quality and the look, although I have the first 2 car bots from XTB, but I still think I don’t need XTB version anymore. I don’t hate on XTB, but if they can’t step up on their quality and the engineering, only simply keep increasing their price by keep adding on useless extra accessories can’t make XTB the best 3rd party brand
Imo this is probably going to be the best looking menasor out of all of them proportion wise. I want this set but I got my sights set on the Zeta superion right now, maybe in the summer I’ll pick this set up because the combined mode looks great 💯
@@jtyw27 most of the set is still available on eBay including Capone but if wildrider is hard to find then getting some of this set is pointless, I’ll probably just go for a XTB gravestone and keep my FT Roadking in alt mode and xtb in bot since I love motormaster so much, menasor is not my favorite combiner anyways💯

I finished getting this guy last year. The best menasor so far. Make sure to grab that 3d print connector to keep wildrider secured to the leg.

Can't find this set anywhere at the moment unless you get lucky from a local seller 2nd hand. Wildrider is impossible to find unless you want g2

Nope, they are backwards in the cartoon. There is a kit you can buy which allows them to face forward, I'll be reviewing that
