I just been told about this song by another fellow ES fan friend here, I am so happy because I feel like that I just discovered a "new song" eventhough I've known about Elliott for about 20 years. This is such a beautiful song!
Austin yeah this is such a sweet song! I love too many! But some favorites are Big Decision, Southern Belle, the Biggest Lie, Alameda, Son of Sam, Passing Feeling, Tomorrow Tomorrow, Single file...I love slow acoustic then dramatic build up in some of his songs. I've been listening to ES lots lately and reminiscing of the couple of times I saw him. It's so nice to connect with lots of people who love Elliott Smith here. There is a podcast called My Favourite Elliott Smith Song and you should listen if you haven't.
Erika Martinez thank you for recommending that! I hadn't heard of it. I think we have like tastes, every song you mentioned are at the top of my list also. Only Place Pigalle was missing. I love that song.
Austin wow! I never heard Place Pigalle either and I already love it! Thanks so much for the recommendations! I must say we have great taste. Oh the podcast is great too.
I’ve been listening to Elliott for half my life now. (32) Fell back down the Smith rabbit hole… dang, just since I’ve been out of it another 10 or more sons have been uploaded to TH-cam that I had never heard. Hell, I didn’t even know about that pretty one from “Heaven Adores You.”
"stained glass eyes"... the man was a cathedral unto himself. Phenomenal. (Side note: I listen to this song when I go to job interviews. Haven't gotten a job yet. Coincidence? :> )
@@rainor771 i know right! i’m constantly getting Grand Mal rarities on my home page haha. it was inevitable that many of his songs would start sounding like Beatles songs due to how much he listened to them and loved them. this one is one of my favorites of what i’ve heard from the Grand Mal rarities
Personal, reflective, uncanny but totally accurate songs from a great guitar artist that will NEVER get his due. Priceless.
He’ll get his due don’t you worry bout that
so beautiful. i love this man and i am very proud of that.
forgot all about this one. damn he was brilliant.

Poetically put, wow. I will think about that for awhile.
Beautiful. Beautiful lyrics beautiful sound
an amazing astounding artist
We didn't deserve him.
that Norwegian Wood influence haha
first thing I heard too! Been listening through the Grand Mal rarities and the beatles influence is just seeping off so many of the songs

I wish people would use AI to clean up these old Elliott recordings that never got finished like that Beatles song Now & Then
its perfect as it is
That's what an AI bot would say.
i really really hope that never happens
I wish we could live in a simulation and that a glitch could resurrect Elliott.

Do you know if the double tracking technique is used on the voice and the guitar or
it's used only on the voice?
Im not sure but I would say both
@@DarkuzHell thanks a lot!
Both
I would say voice for sure guitar sounds stand alone
Sometimes both
