    Looking good Jimmy! This is an interesting topic and the concept of being lowered into the grave is how we look at baptism as well. I do have a question though do you believe that the waters of Jordan were indeed sanctified or changed in a physical way by the fact of baptism?

    The reason for Jesus' baptism is much deeper it was due to the fact He begin His Ministry at the age of 30, why at 30? Num4:3 The reason being at 30 was when a Jewish priest was ordained to the priesthood, when he was ordained he had to washed in order to be considered cleansed and purified for service (if he was not washed he would die otherwise) at the tabernacle as a priest Ex 29:4,7& Ex 30:119-29. The priest had to be anointed as well with oil a symbol of the anointing oil of God's presence today on believers or the baptism of the Holy Ghost, therefore the voice that John heard
    from heaven was a declaration and anointing of Jesus's body to the priesthood ministry that Jesus began from that day forward. To fulfill all righteous Jesus had to comply with the Old Testament Jewish law which is described in the book of Exodus (which describe the requirements of the priesthood). Jesus come to fulfill the law and all rightness ..., Jesus stats that in NT

      all jewish believers were to be water washed in baptism because Exodus 19: 6 says they would be a Kingdom of Priests in the Millennium Reign of Christ.

      Was Jesus's baptism not to FULFILL ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS??
      What was the real reason that Jesus got baptised?
      Was it to set an example for us to follow? Was it to show publicly that he was the Christ? If it was should we also get circumcised as Jesus did? Jesus went to the cross should we also to follow his example? Jesus went into the desert to be tempted should we also?
      QUESTION IS WHAT WAS THE REAL REASON FOR JESUS BAPTISM???
      Jesus tells us why John the Baptist had to baptize him? WAS it NOT "to fulfil all righteousness".
      Mathew 3 The Baptism of Jesus
      13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
      15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfil all righteousness.” Then John consented.
      16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
      What is UNRIGHTEOUSNESS "SIN"
      What is RIGHTEOUSNESS "NO SIN"
      So what was the example in the O.T. for the forgiveness of sin? The day of Atonement. The High Priest Aaron laid hands on one goat and transferred all the sins of Israel on it. The goat did not become a sinner IT ONLY CARRIED THE SINS and was then lead into the desert. Therefore when John the High Priest laid hands on Jesus, He transferred all the sins of the WORLD unto Jesus, Jesus did not become a sinner the same as the goat. Jesus carried our sins. Immediately after the baptism Jesus was lead into the desert just like the goat.
      NOW carrying our sins, there was a price. WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH. The offence was sin, the punishment for sin was DEATH. SO JESUS HAD TO DIE FOR THE SINS THAT HE WAS CARRYING.
      If Jesus just died without the sins, there would be no salvation.
      WHY was God pleased with HIS son JESUS, because he was doing the fathers will, and that was to be baptized by John the Baptist. John the Baptist whole life had one purpose to be forerunner and to baptize Jesus.
      Mathew 3:11 I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
      WHAT did John the Baptist say “he baptised with water and JESUS WOULD BAPTISE US WITH THE SPIRIT AND FIRE”
      Who was present At Jesus baptism ? The Father , Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
      SO WITHOUT ONE OF THE THREE WOULD HIS BAPTISM HAVE BE FULFILLED?
      What is the complete gospel of salvation then?
      It is not to believe in Jesus baptism (water), His Crucifixion (blood) and came upon Jesus at his baptism (Holy Spirit).
      1 John 5: 6-8 "This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. The Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement."
      Thus we need all three for salvation, if one is left out THEN NO SALVATION?
      Question
      If Jesus was not BAPTIZED could we still be saved?
      If Jesus was not CRUCIFIED could we still be saved?
      If Jesus was not RESURRECTED could we still be saved?
      So we see that THAT we are NOW baptised with the SPIRIT into ONE Body. John baptised by WATER BUT JESUS baptises with the SPIRIT NOT WATER??
      Only after Jesus baptism did JESUS get the HOLY SPIRIT?
      John the Baptist had the HOLY SPIRIT AT HIS BIRTH?

    Thanks, Jimmy! Awesome, as always. You should do more videos. There's a question I've had for a while...isnt't being a priest or a nun going against the 'law of nature'? Are we not meant to go into the world and be fruitful? Not saying it's wrong, I actually admire their strong will. Just want to understand it better, as a lot of Protestants say that this is not Biblical etc...Thanks again! God bless

      John baptism was a prelude to the real baptism of the future after his resurrection he changed the formula it was to be done in his name like it says Acts 19:2---7: it can be done in the name of Jesus Christ or in the name of lord Jesus Acts 2 38. , Acts 8:12--16 Acts 10:44---48! Acts 19 ::2--7;. 1. Corinthians 1 13 --14 Romans

    Jesus did not need to be baptised...the water did. In his sin, Adam as the first Priest, causes all of Creation to Fall into Death. Christ's immersion in the water, consecrated all water so that it can do what it was meant to do...Truly clean and truly refresh. Similarly, Christ consecrated the Earth by being buried in it and consecrated the air by rising through it at the end of His time here on Earth.
    Thus Creation itself is brought back into line with the Creator.

      If Jesus is God and he asked to be baptized then he needed to be baptized. For anyone to claim otherwise they put themselves above God. This is the original sin of Adam and Eve.

    Baptism in the name of Jesus was the method of Peter and all of the Apostles to include Matthew and Paul. Peter told all to be baptized in Jesus name for the forgiveness of sins in Acts 2:38. Further we find that Paul who strayed the church in Rome was baptized in Jesus name to wah away his sins in Acts 22:16. Romans 6:3-5 states that Jesus name baptism was practiced in Rome in AD 66. Later in Time magazine of 12-5-1955 we find that Jesus name baptism was still practiced in Rome at 100 AD. Jesus never changes nor does his baptism requirements in his name in Hebrews 13:6-8. Catholics changed their baptism formula in 325 AD to suit the new trinity doctrine. This is known as apostasy in Jude 3. Return back to God and he will return back to you says Peter in 5:6-8. Read Matthew 4:4. Obey God and his word or suffer.

      why Peter did this without permission of Jesus? did he use his power to manipulate the teaching? or

      Matthew 28:19 was Changed by the Roman Catholic church the original. Matthew 28:19. Was like this go ye and make disciples of all nations. In. My. Name. Jesus never said to baptized in titles but in his name he didnt say in the names but in the name ( singular ) jesus is the father Jesus is the son. jesus is the holy spirit. John 14:26 Luke 24:47 in his name beginning in Jerusalem

      Christ himself told them to baptize people in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit
      Matthew 28:19 (RSVCE): 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
      Christ himself didn’t need baptism for salvation. His act was to serve as the perfect example of how a Christian should live a life of obedience to God and his will.

    Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. All righteousness has now been fulfilled, and now completed through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

  • @wow358
    @wow358 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    What is the complete gospel of salvation then? It is to believe in Jesus baptism (water), His Crucifixion (blood) and Resurrection (His being Spirit) altogether. As one. As it is said in 1 John 5: 6-8 "This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. The Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement." Meaning, one cannot go without the other.

  • @wow358
    @wow358 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit." What does this mean? It means that you cannot be truly born again if you don't believe that Jesus took all our sins during His baptism by John the Baptist in Jordan river and completed the remission of sins thru Crucifixion. And He was resurrected after 3 days. Let's not just merely believe on the Cross but on both Jesus baptism and the Cross. (1John 5:6-8).

  • @davidortega357

    Jesus confirmed that the act of baptism is pleasing to God he did this to show all believers that water baptism is important and not let it go keep this sacrament God is please when we accept baptism he is well please we identify with him we copy him by getting baptized the Acts of baptized is not only for Apostolic Oneness Pentecostals but all other faiths practice it too it should be done in the name of Jesus Christ our savior what about Matthew 28 19 when we I ey Acts 2 38 we are obeying Matthew 28 19 is not a formula it's a directional commandments just Like 24:47

  • @wow358
    @wow358 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jesus baptism was the most significant happening in the entire history. This is equally important with Jesus Crucifixion and of His Resurrection. Jesus was baptized to "take away all the sins of the world" by John the baptist (the highest priest that time, descendant of Aaron) thru the laying on of hands. Jesus became the unblemished sin offering as the Lamb of God. He received vicarious judgement thru Crucifixion to complete the atonement of sin (as in the OldTestament's atonement process)

    The Lord has our sin 🙏 to confess that was his purpose on earth...but he die an rose ..lives and reign

  • @wow358
    @wow358 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29). John himself became the witness to Jesus being the Lamb of God. The former knows that he transferred all the sins (past,present and future sins all at once) as the representative of mankind to Jesus thru the laying on of hands. Bearing all the sins of the world Jesus needs to be Crucified to complete the atonement of sin.

      Jesus himself is the source of the spirit, for the spirit proceeds from the father and the son. Jesus was already united with the spirit in the godhead from the beginning of eternity. His human nature may have received the spirit through his baptism, but his divine nature did not require it.

  • @isabeljames8622

    Jesus was and is our High Priest...the high priest was the one that provided the cleansing service for the forgiveness of the people's sins by offering a animal as a offering, which would be killed and the blood applied to The arc of covenant or The mercy seat in The Holy of Holies done once a year. The priest had to go through a purification ceremony in order to enter the priesthood and washing was part of that purification ceremony otherwise he was considered unclean and he would die when entering The Holy of Holies. Jesus' work on Calvary was a complete service for the atonement of our sins. He was the lamb that was slain and he carried the blood as The Hight Priest and placed it on the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies once for all for all of us. He was was the only one who could do it because he was both God and man and had no sin. None of us are born without sin, only Jesus was, again because He was both God and man.

    Jesus was baptized (or baptised)!!! because:-
    1. He was showing us what we should do.
    2. This was God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit all together.
    3. He was showing what was going to happen to him. He was showing himself dying - when he went under the water - and rising again - when he came back up.

    Just like the atonement process in the Old Testament, where an unblemished sin offering such as a lamb needs to be slaughtered, killed and shed blood after it received the sins of Israelites thru the laying on by hands by their High Priest, who was Aaron. In the same manner, Jesus became the Sacrifiial Lamb of God as He took away in Himself all the sins of the world and paid the price thru Crucifixion.

    Jesus represented the repentance of Israel. Jesus represented the law and fulfilled it. He fulfilled of what spoken of him of the prophet. Peter said it was for the remission of sin but Paul said without the shedding of blood there was no remission of sin. So it may represented the rivers of living water that Jesus talked about. Being washed in the blood of Jesus , and being free from sin. isaiah 1 talks about though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow.

    Jesus had to be baptized this all. Began in the old testament lets not forget its all in his desire going back to the old test when God told moses to build the first church or tabenacle the furniture was arade like a Cross there were to altars 1 altar was the brazen burnt offerings 2 nd was very important it was called the brazen laver this is where the high preist had to cemonial wash hjs hands and feet. Lest. he die after he entered into the holy place then after he entered into the holy of holies Jesus fullfilled his baptism after he fasted he rested then he began his ministry he set our example we. Cannot change his mode hes God thats why

    Get your Bible, and read these:
    Jesus about the Eunuchs: Mt 19.12
    St Paul, on the superiority of celibacy: 1 Cor 7
    The fact is, Jesus remained celibate all his life. And he is the supreme model for Christians. St Paul, the greatest of the Apotles, also remained celibate.
    To say celibacy is "unbiblical" is a fiction!

    Howdy, Kent! Sorry for the delay in responding!
    You're quite correct that people often speak of Jesus "sanctifying the waters" by his baptism, but this is not understood to be a physical change in the nature of the waters. H2O would have been the same physically before and after Jesus' baptism, but by setting an example for us (as well as the other things he did in through his baptism), Jesus "set apart"/consecrated water for its use in baptism. BTW, I have your popcorn cauliflower in the oven!
