Ever since I began studying animation I totally get the insinuation of geometric designs/color = personality. You get a lot about a character by the relative warmth/coolness of the colors they have and the shapes they use. Narumi = Pink Heart (a smooth circle with a single sharp edge, ha) Hirotaka = Blue Square (Squares in character designs indicate solid and dependable-unconsciously preference for even numbers) Hanako = Green Circle (Circles always indicate smooth and approachable personalities) Tarou = Orange Triangle (Triangles/Sharp edges are used for indications of potential danger and emblematic of skill/aptitude/daring) Take a closer look at how each character has the same shape somehow integral to their design-Narumi has a heart shaped face, Hirotaka has square glasses, Hanako has round glasses, Tarou has triangles everywhere! In his hair, his eyes, his eyebrows etc And even the couples houses have the warm/cold color palate as described above to give you an idea of what sort of relationship they have.
