    In the word 'power', the first syllable contains the 'ow' diphthong (aʊ). The second syllable has the 'ə' sound. The 'əʊ' diphthong is better shown in words like 'tour', 'pure', and the British pronunciation of 'sure'.

    All native students should learn these; this is a top tool to speak like a native. Diphthong is everything listen to the vowels sound!!!....You know diphthongs so you know the "native vowels sound"; otherwise we don't know anything!!! GREAT, Teacher!!!!

    I never noticed how diphthongs sound different by themselves when they aren't combined with the actual word that uses it. I just watched this even though English is my first language. 😂

    Caution: As Gimeyo put it, There's a mistake with the diphthong /ʊə/: "our" and "power"
    Indeed, for both words, it is rather a case of triphthong : the diphthong /aʊ/ + /ə/.
