This was the first Game Boy game I bought and certainly the first I beat.. Aside from the Tetris pack in, it was one of two original game boy games I had. This was a very cool game for a child, and much simpler for a 5 year old child to pick up and play.
I remember my dad buying this for me from Toys R US and my buddy and I would play it on the bus on the way to school etc. My cousin also had it too Krang used to give us challenges.
I remember having this game when I was young. Despite how mediocre it is I used to love it because I was a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. so of course it was part of my nostalgia. That and along with other Game Boy games like Tetris, Tetris Blast, Super Mario Land and Pokemon Blue were part of my childhood.
I used to own this and yes it was a bit simple but the characters looked more accurate than the NES first game. You didn't do any of the pizza challenges? Not that you needed it, but the bonus games were pretty cool.
The gameplay is extremely simple and repetitive but this is actually pretty impressive for an early Gameboy title. Sweet graphics, music and cutscenes, good variety of enemies, stage select is a nice feature, and there's pretty much no slow down.
I plan to for sure I don't get as much time to work on Play it Throughs but I want to cover the other two TMNT gameboy games and a few other TMNT games down the road.

Have you ever thought of doing a play it through on TMNT 2 The Arcade Game and TMNT 3 for the NES before?
+Michael Lalonde I plan to down the road I have been working on both off and on for years.
I hope you do the other two games in the original GB TMNT trilogy. They get better. The second one is my favorite.
