Thank you for contributing to inflation and enabling dealers to get away with price gouging.

You should leave it at the dealership overnight and let them start it in the morning

Probably an exhaust leak from the looks of it. Goes away after it’s warmed up due to heat expansion on the exhaust.

To diagnose sound like that you can try this. When it makes the noise in your driveway. Rev the engine and see if the noise gets faster or changes. Also have someone outside the truck and put it in gear in the driveway or reverse and see if the noise is transmission related. Try creeping back and forth in your driveway also.

Looks like a small exhaust leak on the crossover pipe seeing as there's water right below it and a small amount of exhaust coming out.

Because the sound goes away once it's warm heat expansion is a factor. I would look at exhaust heat shields first. Ideally it would be nice to let the truck sit and diag it in the morning cold start but that didn't

Have same issue on cold start with my 21 powerboost. Can't get it to recreate at dealership either, even when left overnight. Narrowed it down to being parked on an incline. If it's nose down it makes the sound, nose up or level and it sounds normal. I think its cavitation in the transmission pump until the fluid warms up and flows better. Pump must be positioned towards the rear of the transmission/truck.

I found your channel when I searched for how fast you can reverse😂 It’s funny that no one made videos the older Mercedes’ cdi. I was a taxi driver and drove a Mercedes E290 cdi(1995 I think), it was automatic with a summer/winter selector. When you reverse in winter mode, it does it in a second gear. I reversed that car more than 60 mph, it was so funny.

Mike the cam phaser tensioner would make sense going away after it's warm. Cause once oil gets warm and flows better the tensioner works better to keep tension on the phaser.

The dealership recognize the backlash from upcharging pipsburgg views and were willing to take a hit to avoid the public eye especially with Mike's reach

I had same problem , exhaust was touching bottom shield plate and creating grinding noise , moved it away from the exhaust and no more noise, strangely it use to happen on cold start only.

My thought is exhaust issue. With the adjustable exhaust modes I would lean towards the gate that changes within the tubing. With heat causing expansion it would quit obviously when hot..

I have same issue with my f150 2.7. It's just the metal heat cover which is above the exhaust. It gets loose and it only makes it when you first starts because Ford has a set up the computer to accelerate more when the engine is cold. So it always will make that noise when you have the engine at certain speed. Like mine was between 2000 to 3000. It's just a metal "bracelet" thats holds that heat metal cover on the exhaust.
