    sir, kindly guide, if we are using a reduced scaled model on shake tables testing i.e. 1/3rd scale, for modelling it in etabs or sap2000, how we will we model the geometry and properties and how to scale the ground motions in software

    Dear Sir,
    Thank you for nice video on Incremental Dynamic Analysis. I have one doubt related to Ground motion data used for IDA. Do we have to use the free field data downloaded from PEER Database or we have to use record matched as per our codal spectra ?

    1) In the definition of load cases, How many load patterns do I have to define? and which patterns please mentioned the names of load patterns.
    2) In load cases, Please clarify the need for a "modal load case".
    3) There is any need to provide a load combination?

    Sir my IDA curve appears to be linear. Do you have any suggestions for this ??

      Its okay to be linear, most of the 3D modeling will shows linearity in their curves... Please refer to my research work and you will notice that.

    I think you should inter 0.1×9.81
    But you intered 0.1×9810
    Why?!?! And how can i find that?!?

      Yes matching the the ground motion w.r.t targeted response spectrum is a MUST!!! To achieve your IDA ...

      Hello dears. I need to develop fragility curves from IDA. Is there anyone who can guide please

    • @Lasiafeda

      Hi guys.. define fragility curve is easy once you have the ida curve. Simply collect all ground motion values (i.e. rsa[t1]) that caused building at considered condition (i.e. collapse). All convert to log natural values. Find the median and standard deviation values from these all ln. Then create series of ground motion from 0 to 4 g, with step of 0.1, then convert to ln. Calculate the normal distribution (in excel is normdist) of these series, median and standard deviation. You will get the probability. Plot it with ground motion series of 0 - 4 g, then you will get fragility curve. Further about fragility curve, you can read paper made by dr keith r poter. It has example with various data vondition. It is entitled Practical Development & Application of Fragility Function, published in 2007 by ASCE.

    What is major difference between non linear dynamic analysis and IDA ?

    • @EarthquakeAssessmentbyDrMousta
      @EarthquakeAssessmentbyDrMousta  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nonlinear dynamic analysis type is time history analysis which provides to develop the IDA curve, by incrementally increasing the intensity measure with respect to damage measure. In general speaking, the IDA can be generated from NLTHA approach.

    Why you doing matching just by multiplying to the target PGA. For example, in your video you want PGA 0.1 g, you just multiply it by 0.1 g, instead of ground motion there is already PGA, for example, for example the PGA is 0.3 g, if you multiply it by 0.1 then the PGA = 0.1 x 0.3 = 0.003 g
