I like how Blue does most (if not all) of the talking with the Indominus, like no matter what decision she makes, the other raptors will follow her lead. True loyalty.

I feel like this entire movie was an audition for Chris Pratt to be Indiana Jones.
I don't know if he can be Indiana Jones, there's something to me that seems off with the idea Pratt being Indiana.
But he was definitely playing a badass character here. Owen Grady was an amazing role for Pratt, at least in the first Jurassic World.

Love this entire scene, especially how the raptors surround Owen when they’ve running I think it’s pack behaviour for any animal that the alpha goes in the middle of the pack for protection
I also love how serious the guy is who releases the raptors when he presses the button.
To him that was the coolest thing he ever got to do, especially considering he was gonna be eaten by them in the first place-
I think the wolf pack behavior is different. The alpha usually goes head on.. but these velociraptors.. we'll never know.. since blue is upfront❤
Gotta respect that the kid who pushed the button was still working with the raptors considering they almost ate him at first. There's steel in that man.
I just love the subtle moment when Owen looks at the raptors next to him and is just like, "Holy shit. This is actually happening."

This part actually terrified me. Raptors have always scared me the most of any dinosaur (even more than T-Rex) and realizing the Indominus is essentially a T-Rex sized Raptor sent shivers down my spine.
That can camouflage...

The raptors didn't turn on owen when they looked at him... They were looking for a response from him on what to do and when he didn't respond then they went rogue...
gardians vol 2 Coleman They were probably debating which side to take. On one hand, Owen had raised them and had been alpha all their lives. On the other, the I-Rex was huge and definitely on top of the food chain. In that split second, they probably decided their chances for survival would be better with the I-Rex.
But two of them hissed at him
Probably the Indominus told them to kill the old alpha, which is Owen. Two of them agreed but you can see Blue hesitating if she will actually kill. I think that's also the reason why all of them stared at Owen but nothing else
Good theory
Eh - I would say this is far fetched. I always assumed Blue never turned on Owen, but "betrayed" him only to protect him and him alone - but Charlie and Echo and Delta just follow Blue's lead.
The raptors run right alongside Owen's motorcycle without once attempting to attack him. They could've turned as soon as they were released, but the girls instead race through the jungle with a human at their side, and even glance at Owen several times as if looking for approval. Blue and her sisters almost seem to be happy that they're finally able to run all-out and hunt with their alpha
Did anyone else have a mix of "awesome!" And "oh shit." When they saw this scene?
Raven Nightwing i have a feeling like a mixing of nostalgia ,fear and thrill😂that was memorable moment in theatre.
When I saw it with my aunt she was more shocked. I kinda already knew that the I-Rex had raptor genes. There was talk about it back when it was still in preproduction.

I love how despite all their training and precautions these guys were still scared shirtless to release those raptors...like they all had this look like " this is a bad idea". Nature will always be the alpha...brilliant scene!

Well those who work with wild animals know just how dangerous they really are. I was once told that if you're out in nature and you see baby animals lile cubs for example don't approach and walk in the other direction because chances are the mother is nearby watching

For some reason I always liked the part at 3:31. All the raptors looking at Owen. I-rex probably asked them to kill their old Alpha to show their loyalty to her.
I almost cried, perfect scene
I actually read a theory that they were looking to Owen for orders, because they were trained to look at him upon mission completion. That the raptors believed they were sent out to find a lost pack member, not to track and kill. They located the target, and looked to Owen for further orders. If I remember correctly the humans shot first. Later in this scene Charlie sees Owen but makes no attempt to attack, just stands there looking at him (until she gets blown up...). It's also shown that Berry (the black guy) also got Blue to cease her attack when he was in a log, by calling her name.
Which explains why later in the movie when they have that final stand off, Owen can still get them to stand down. In that scene, I believe Indy tells them to kill Owen and the others, and Blue refuses because she trusts Owen even if she doesn't trust other humans. Owen was always their pack leader, and even though there may have been some hurt feelings after the fact, Blue still trusted Owen enough to let him get close enough to take off the headset, repairing the damaged bond.

I think there's other theory youtubers who have mentioned similar but I only recognize Alteoris voice (it's been a while, so I don't fully remember which youtuber said it.)

I just want to say how awesome this scene is! Two species, each having owned the Planet in their own eras, working together in a coordinated fashion. A symbiosis if you will of two top predators.

In my opinion, it's the second best scene in all the Jurassic Park films. The best is when the T-Rex first appeared in Jurassic Park. I'll never forget sitting in the theater at 13 years old and seeing that. Absolutely incredible.

There's one theory that suggests that the raptors NEVER turned against Owan, and in this scene, they're simply waiting for his command. But before he could do or say anything Haskins orders the men to fire at the I Rex.
As the other guy said, they never turned against anyone JUST because of the I-REX, but only because they attacked first, let alone the facts that they never specifically attack Owen.
