I have a 2008 550 xp and it goes in to gears but won’t move I looked at the clutch it seems fine I can’t go in reverse I can push it in park well I can push it in any high low reverse and park i don’t know how to move forward to fix it when I rev it it just won’t move
So when you have the clutch cover off and you rev up the unit while it's in neutral can you see the primary clutch closed and the secondary clutch spin? It could be a multitude of things. Deathly start by making sure that your primary clutch is operating properly and that your secondary clutch is actually spinning the transmission
Well I guess my next question would be can you spin the secondary clutch while it is in gear by hand because if you can do that then there's probably something else wrong internally or the secondary clutch is spinning on the input shaft of the transmission.
Now I remember why I tell people that want to bring me there stuff to work on to wash them off. If not, it will be power washed and they will be paying me to do it! I had a polaris in here that was so bad that the driveshaft was burried and they wanted to know what the noise was when in motion.
Oh I absolutely charge to pressure wash stuff before I work on it most of the time. My favorite is frozen mud are Cow crap around the axle are drive shaft & they wonder why it snapped lol
Hey man, I have the same bike (2012 550) and have a similar problem. It would only get to high and neutral. the shifter would reach low and it would say it was in low but wouldn’t move in low. it physically would not shift into reverse or inherently park. I will be the first to admit im not overly knowledgeable on these transmissions and I really dont know what the problem could be. I have the transmission out of the bike and I am waiting for the primary puller to open up the transmission. Do you have any idea what my problem could be? You mentioned something about the detents being bad? could that be my problem? any information helps, thanks!
If I'm not mistaken isn't high gear all the forwards on that year also? But it could be a lot of things. Could be a part on the bell crank, are one off the shift forks is stuck are just wore out. You honestly won't know for sure untill you split the cases. I wish I could more of a help but that's kind of what I ran into. I also had to replace the oneway bearing on the primary clutch because it was bad. So make sure you check that. Also when you have the Trans cases in half put it all together & try shifting it to see what is all going on.
Can't wait to see the rest
I love your channel !

@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 yea I can still trun it by hand imma have to take it apart see what’s wrong with it

Have you worked on polaris 6 wheelers
No I have never had the chance. Why what's going on?
