I remember as a kid when my dad told me, "Defensive lineman try to get to the QB/RB and take up blockers. Defensive backs cover anyone going down field and linebackers are pretty much the guy who is able to get to the ball carrier and tackle him". He called them tackling machines and told me to look at the stats for each team to see which positions had the most tackles. It was the LBs. Although, this was the early 90s when football was run heavy; nowadays I'd guess safeties are right up there on a lot of teams when it comes to total tackles.
First time playing organized Football ever. I was pushed to join my high school team by my friends, and here I am. Despite constantly paying attention, I don’t understand most things. All I know is that the Sam calls “Louie Louie” or “Roger Roger” depending on the Tight End, the Mike goes on the Sam’s side on the 20 or 30 technique, and the Will is on the opposite side. I don’t exactly know which gap to step towards, I keep getting everything mixed up.
Highly recommend you meet 1 on 1 with your coach and ask them to explain everything step by step. They can help you clear things up. Bring a notebook too so you can write it down. Good luck!
Okay, so. You go after anyone who catches the ball or carries the ball, right? I’m from the Philippines and becoming interested in something like this.
Next year is going to be my sophomore season and I’m a relatively new player(started freshman year) I played lineman the whole season and I am thinking about trying middle linebacker especially because I’m undersized for the line. Im not that smart in the world of football and I was wondering where I can go and what I can’t do to get that football iq

All I know is middle LB just watch the middle of the field and the QB/RB. While I think one of the outside linebackers guard the tight end and cover the flat?
From a betting or fantasy football perspective which type of Linebacker is Generally the most likely to get tackles and Assists , a middle lineback , a strongside linebacker or a weakside linebacker ?
Thank you for the video I am on offense right now but I want to switch to defense outside linebacker is the perfect position for me I just need to lose weight
There are players who are also from Africa. Like Tamba Hali. Born in Liberia, played college football in the USA and recently played for Kansas City. You’re not alone.
I’m overweight the coach at my school said I should play put me as a linebacker and I don’t think I have the stamina to do this but it’s worth a try I guess

I want to play football! But my siblings told me "you'll be bad" or "you'll never do it" and so I played with my siblings and I beat them and all of my siblings play football.
Really work hard on getting your eyes to your target and proper footwork when working toward a ball carrier. Never cross your feet over each other and stay square as long as possible!
Lowkey sad I wanted to be a d end but they told me I wasn’t gonna be tall enough for d end I’m 5,11 goin into Fresh man high school football so line backer here I come..

I'm hella nervous for starting football and I'm thinking about linebacker if they even give me a choice
itf they ask you that question, tell the coach to put you wherever he sees you perform the best
This is really helpful bc I'm 11 and I'm a LB with 15 yr olds
Watch out for cte! Great video tho
Many thanks man! What program do you use in this vídeo for move this positions? Have a nice day!
Basically go for anyone with the ball

Right off the bat this isn’t accurate at all…i.e. who plays a 4-3 defense vs 4 wideouts? Jesus Christ guys…
He hunts.
I was to light so I had to switch to linebacker also thx
linebackers aren’t suppose to be light?
@@enufy7434 ikr
you’re supposed to be a pretty good height while being linebacker and you’re obviously gonna be big while being linebacker
a position for a light person would probably be qb LOL
