If anyone wants a short history of No.2890 Douglas here it is. Built orginally as a Hunslet 0-6-0 tank engine the locomotive worked in yards and such like his brothers and sisters. After his main service ended the locomotive was bought by the Mid Hants Railway and renumbed from it's old number to it's current number 2890. In preperations of a Day Out with Thomas event,No 2890 was transformed from a tank engine to a tender engine and was changed to look like the character Douglas from the show. After this event ended Douglas would keep his look as a tender engine and the name. Today I think he works on the East Landcastrshire ( sorry if I spelt that wrong) Railway. For a engine named after a TV show character I think Douglas is one nice engine for the UK to have mostly since he was orginally a tank engine and turned into a tender engine which almost looks like his TV show's basis which was a CR 812 class. Imagine Douglas doing a double header with the single CR 812 survivor No.828 but we can dream oh wait I think I went kinda too far to the children side did I?

Bit frightening watching the tender rise and lower on the track like that.

Scary watching the tender go up and down on the track like that, would almost give me motion sickness

bushranger51 you tend not to notice it when you're on the footplate because you've got to monitor all the gauges and let your instincts keep you balanced
