Man, I feel jealous... I'm exactly in the position you were before you got your hands on the tv! A big thumbs up, man! I can feel your enthusiasm because I'm craving the same thing.
Nice pick-up, that's a beautiful set. I have a 20 inch trinitron for my consoles and just recently started playing my old Laserdiscs and vhs tapes on the beast. :) them super nostalgia feels.
Just got myself a beautiful 1996 manufactured Sony High-Black Trinitron 25", it is a model with the very rare Philips 480i deinterlacer chip, turns 480i into 240p with scanlines, amazing for N64/PS1 and some DC games, makes soft/blurry 480i content much sharper, does an incredible job, of course some 480i content looks great as is, the best thing about the 21" & 25" Trinitron sets, is they have PVM IQ and superb geometry etc, it also has the slimmest bezel of any Trinitron, making the image pop even more, also has bookshelf size stereo speakers that are removable, very loud quality sound. That said, I can't wait to get a big boy 29"-32" Trinitron set too, a 97/98 model, perfect for a couch setup and multiplayer games, 4 player Golden Eye or Mario Kart 64 is much better on a bigger set, or even multiple sets like the PS1 allows, I used to love C&C Red Alert via link-up and back 2 back TV's,
Such a shame we didn't have SCART over here. Component didn't become a thing until much later, and that was very limited with console support, unfortunately.
Not having to go around the back of the TV is why I have a 4 way S video adapter...it's a super sized pain in about 3 butts! At least my CRT has a composite port in the front, but I still have a 3 way adapter so I can keep my NES, Super Nintendo Jr and VCR plugged in and ready for fun.
I have five of these suckers, four of them Sony Trinitrons, one Philips with Trinitron tube, two of the Trinitrons in 4:3 format, the others are 16:9. For PS2 and Xbox, the 16:9s are really nice. For the real old consoles I have a quite small 4:3 model, which makes the image crisp and clear. And Iove to play Win95/Win98/WinXP games on the CRT monitors.
Nice set, just got a 19" Trinitron portable myself as on LCD the Psx looks like minecraft. Get yourself a PSX scart RGB cable. RetroRGB or My Life In Gaming do brilliant reviews on getting the best from your CRT and Scart. The difference on Gran Turismo is night and day. Stay clear of cheap chinese scart cables on fleabay. It sounds expensive but £25-30 for a quality cable is normal and for me now its non negotiable. The two scarts on your set, one is RGB, you`ll never go back!
I recommend you change from CRT TV to CRT monitor because any CRT TV is bad for the defocus (blur) and for the bad convergence. I don't like any CRT TV but yes I love CRT monitor-computer (not arcade). ;)
Hi So any SONY Trinitorn is the best for playing the old consoles like ps1&2, sega, bes, snes etc? It doesn't matter which model or it has to be having the component inputs ! thanks
I picked up a 25 inch Sony Trinitron a few months ago from some bloke in Brummy Land. A 4:3. It looks exactly like yours, though obv smaller. I don't know if it's just me, but I get the feeling when I'm using it that there's a bit of a "blur" to the picture. Almost as if the TV is actually TOO big for the type of things I'm playing on it. (I've tried Mega Drive via Arial & Scart, Gamecube, XBOX). It works, I've been able to calibrate the colour scheme to what looks good, but yeah, something seems off. I do have to wear glasses for a PC monitor these days, but yeah. I remember having a similar size widescreen CRT even up to the 360 age, but I don't remember what I can only describe as a slight lack of focus to picture quality. Are you experiencing anything like this with this model? It's sad, but there doesn't seem to be any CRT repair folk around anymore. Makes sense, but yeah, it's a shame.
That is one sweet and "handy" (compared to most of mine lol) Trinitron! Are you using proper RGB-cables for your stuff? Just found your channel, so excuse me if you have other videoes regarding cables and stuff ;)
@@Hamstr_Games It's weird but I only hear the high pitch at certain areas of the room. Mostly silent except for a slight buzz that you can barely hear. I could always hear when a CRT was on too.
I'm listening with bittersweet excitement. You've got an ULTRA rare Trinitron crt (in the states anyways) that it seems like you are kinda $h1tting on scart switching. Forgive me, Mate: was/is scart switching THAT bad or just an EXTREMELY annoying inconvenience for you? 🤔🤔🤔 At any rate: FANTASTICAL video!!! We just in the states don't see very many carts with scart ports. ULTRA rare, indeed!!! 🤓 🤓 🤓 💙 💙 💙 💎💎💎🕹🕹🕹
incredible picture dude, it's pity you suck at gran turismo, I recommend you to switch gas/ brake inputs to right analogue thumbstick and please learn how to play w/ manual transmission, slowly but surely you'll get there with a lot more of enjoyment that you previously played🙂

Keep on gaming, my friend - nice video! \m/

Hehe im from uk i love scart
I’d imagine component didn’t become a thing for you until maybe ps2/gamecube unless ps1 and n64 had it. I dont live in the u.s. so I don’t know
@@lewisgrant7622 ps1 had rgbs and ps2 had component

Do a room tour video please!! I love seeing other ppls set ups for some odd reason lol
I definitely will at some point. I like see other people’s setups too... it does sound oddly voyeuristic!

Enjoy it mate, she served me well.
Thanks again Jarret, I’m very pleased with it!
It's so weird how we get connected to this stuff. I can never let my childhood trinitron go. I have an Emerson too. Neither of them will go anywhere.

Awesome
amazing
Is this a high end model?
I just picked up a CRT tv for old family tapes and gaming I just can’t stand that high pitch noise it makes lmao
Mine has a low pitch hum, it really does take me back to the 80s and 90s
@@Hamstr_Games It's weird but I only hear the high pitch at certain areas of the room. Mostly silent except for a slight buzz that you can barely hear. I could always hear when a CRT was on too.
You guys lucked out having SCART as the standard over there. Composite sucks.
How many inches is that?
How to by this tv
Buy a gSCARTsw, so that you don't have to fuddle with switching SCART inputs.
The same holds true for a gCOMP.

Agreed the US never got scart on TVs haha S video was the best in the states until component
That TV does not look 29in. My 27 looks bigger, have you measured it diagonally?
Looks like a 25 inch .
Looks like a 14 incher 😂

The smallest crt tv size I'll take is 20 inches.
Lmao my grandma has that same tv
Awesome Gran! You should swap it for an OLED when she isn't looking, and pinch the Sony for yourself!

Also this video is in 360p for me
Give an hour for YT to process.....
To be honest, I considered uploading in 360p, just to keep with the 90s theme!
PSX
100 percent not 29 inches its a 25 like mine
The KV-29F3U model number on the back, and my hernia from carrying it around would beg to differ.... but if you're 100% then I'll go with that 🫡
I'd be afraid sitting next to a television that sounds like it's going to give me radiation poisioning.
don't worry it'll all be over soon...
It is non-ionizing radiation, so no.
