After the release of his hit film, The Perfect Weapon, many people thought he was going to be the next big action star. Perfect weapon remains one of my all-time favourite cheesy 80s martial arts films. I'm glad he continues to teach, even if his acting career didn't work out.

Me too! It was likely the studio politics at Paramount Pictures following the release of The Perfect Weapon and not getting better offers that stalled his career as an actor. Had he gotten to pay the lead role in Speed (1994) and gotten some better offers for movies that went to theaters he might be a household name today.
That said, I am glad to hear that he is doing well and still teaching Kenpo.
