    • @PishPishoto
      @PishPishoto ปีที่แล้ว +21

      As a Muay Thai fighter, I've got nothing but respect for boxing. But let me give you a little advice. While the cores of these 2 martial arts are somewhat close to one another (unlike boxing and Kung Fu for example which are more far apart) you can't just use everything you know in boxing in Muay Thai, cause then you'll get seriously hurt. I'll give you a couple of examples. In boxing, while it's not ideal, it's ok duck really low, but in Muay Thai if you duck too low you're gonna have a friendly chat with your opponent's knee (believe me I've learned this the hard way). Second, I know that you have some sort of clinching in boxing, but from my understanding (and honestly I might be wrong here) it's mainly used as break to catch your breath or to push your opponent away. It's not like that in Muay Thai 😂. In Muay Thai we have a thousand different locks and chokes and takedowns that make clinching into "the art of pain". Prepare yourself, if you're clinching with a Muay Thai fighter who knows how to clinch good, you're going to experience more pain in that clinch than from any punch you've ever been hit with. Lastly remember that because boxers only uses punches, their stance is usually a lot more open than a Muay Thai fighter. Wish you luck 🙏💪

      I do kickboxing but I like boxing more because it has a simpler arsenal but such depth to every component of its arsenal that no other striking sport can offer to the same degree. That's why I think It's the best striking art sports wise. But I feel like kicks are just too powerful to miss out on (they're also very cool) so I found the midway in kickboxing. Now all I need is a little bit of wrestling/grappling for the cherry on top to be a complete fighter, I'm thinking of judo (I think bjj is great but judo is better balanced with wrestling and grappling elements for self defense)

    I kinda disagree with the footwork thing, cause of a boxer takes 3 unchecked calf kicks from conditioned Muay Thai shins, he’s gonna be immobilized

    • @PishPishoto

      Exactly. In my opinion you need to some damn good foot work if you wanna doge those lightning fast low kicks without blocking, cause that's also painful

    Me a Muay Thai student (literally, no joke): i like to give brain damage
    I started to learn Muay Thai at probably a few months (maybe 2 - 4 months, my performance was kinda difficult) and when i told one of my friends that im learning Muay Thai, one of my classmates (who literally tried to be funny and cool) was skeptical and challenged me to fight him since most of the class don't believe me (because im a martial arts nerd, they call me that even my friends and buddies and the teachers) and at recess everyone in my class watch the fight, and mid fight i kinda was getting beaten (i got punched on the chest so much that i almost fell) i started to fight freely with Muay Thai, and at one point i accidentally elbowed his chest so hard to the point he fell and started crying in pain while holding his chest (he barely breathed) and i got suspended and grounded for elbowing the idiot...

    • @becarefulwhatyoufish4764

      It’s still about the style/martial art because each martial has different advantages and disadvantages. People say boxing is the best for fighting multiple opponents but you can’t box when 5 guys have grabbed or while they’re holding you down on the ground. You would have to wrestle your way out of that. Wrestling can be done standing or while on the ground with somebody on top of you.

    I hate the lack of footwork in muay thai because I prefer moving around and not being too much of a stationary target, but I hate the lack of tools to get the job done with more, that’s why I chose muay thai

    One leg kick and the boxer gets folded. Considering how big of a weakness the legs are for a boxer, Muay Thai as a style has a massive inherent advantage over boxing with its very hard shin kicks and forearm strikes.

    I absolutely love the both of them and admire the art behind both. I wish to be muay thai and jujitsu trained in the future as I believe they are the perfect combination. Back to the question, if you putting the best in the world of each sport face to face then I say muay thai all day. But most of the time, In most confrontations, either one is a good one to have trained in and will probably bring you out of the problem the winner. But still.....muay thai all day for my opinion
