I love this family! When Veer tries to talk, I think he needs the rest of the fam to make a little room for him to speak up ! He has insightful things to say but he doesn’t always repeat himself if his first attempt at chiming in isn’t heard because other people are already talking. ❤❤❤

This episode made me sad actually. I didn’t like how Brij and Zoya so persistently disagreed with Zarna, although probably they were correct. I believe it may be a cultural and generational difference in how they look at the same situation and perceive it so differently. Brij is becoming very independent and eager to experience his life on his own. He can say now: “When you are ready to talk.” Most probably these conflicts will decrease once he leaves for college. However these times together are so precious. Zarna you have done a great job in raising them. Shalabh is very supportive. Brij is finding his own voice and sometimes this manifests itself like this. Sending love.

I really enjoyed this eposide! I come from a strict African background and I have tried to communicate with my children on more flexible grounds but sometimes my old self just springs up. Great job being able to talk like this. I've been able to have open conversations with my kids "though not always on a low tone" but this is amazing. Keep bringing them 😍. I think Zoya is the sobering factor here 😆. Love you guys

Maybe rewrap the tree and start over with the placement of the tree. Mom appears to have wanted to capture the special experience of the unwrapping of the tree. She loves her kids fiercely. It's not hate. It's the passion for capturing special moments, ie the unwrapping of the tree.

I stand with Zarna, I can feel exactly what she felt and you had the right to be angry. I have exactly the same style of being angry at someone as Zarna. Words used by her while she was angry, I think it’s all justified, someway or another it just shows how deeply she loves you and your siblings the she is purely/truly emotionally open and can potentially say or express anything about you it can be extremely bad or Extremely good (Very rare) believe me when you grow up, move miles away and wouldn’t get enough time to spend with her these words are the ones you will remember and then and only then you will be able to understand her love behind those harsh words, it’s been close to 8 years since I move out and I miss everything so much her good and her bad( my mom). I understand Brij prospective too I have a young brother and mother’s tends to love little ones more.
This is so real !! Kids are so ready to jump on mom and criticize her and go soft on dad.. I agree with exaggerating words by mom - i am a mom and I do the same but it’s more of a frustration than actually mean those words. It’s funny how kids immediately pay attention to those mean words and forget all those compliments we give them.. kudos to an honest conversation..

My dearest Zarna: your kids remind me of my adult kids….. I am often told that, I am passive aggressive, dramatic, emotionally immature, give us gifts that we want and not what you think we need, grow-up, etc.etc.etc. (Once my daughter discovered the gift I was giving her for Christmas, it was a Harry Potter book and I shouted at her for nosing around)
And you know what, after seeing this episode, I think my kids are right 😂 because kids always speak the truth!

Finally made it to your family podcast Zarna! I love love you guys and really enjoyed this episode! Some of this really hit home I battled the same as you and Brij with my now 25 year old awesome son. We still butt heads but my son has matured a lot and I have grown to have more of an open mind to hearing his perspective and being more respectful of his feelings and it does work to resolve the problem at hand.
This family needs their own show. Period ❤

These kids will realize when they get married and have their own kids. You should always take your partners side if you disagree never in front of the kids. Your loyalty should always be with your spouse your kids will leave but your spouse will be with you forever.

Zarna get the "A". I can identify with Zarna "Let me know when you are ready to talk" coming from the child would upset me. I see it from the childs perspective, he is being mature, direct and giving space to his mom. Obviously , I am that Indian mom and Zarna's generation :-) You'll are my favorite family

I am the oldest sister with two younger brothers just like your family zarna. And somehow like you jumped on zoya at the end, i get jumped on too by my mum (though shes mostly right) for defending my younger brothers. This was hilarious to watch. Reminds me of the times we'd argue.

Okay this was not particularly as hilarious an episode as i was expecting. I'm a mom of a 3 years old and as much as i understand the view points, objectivity and rationale of all the 3 children, it wasn't a pleasant experience watching zarna feel bad. It's only fun when she's the boss/badass. I could be wrong but guys, sometimes its okay to let the ones we love win, here i mean the mom. I don't support that Brij should have apologised but yes icing your mom is not good. It seemed like a simple communication gap and the kids could have taken it upon themselves to clarify it. No win is worth hurting or upsetting your loved ones. My A grade goes to Zarna for the sheer perseverance of motherhood!
On a side note, dear Zarna, we can't expect our children or spouse or close people to keep accepting us while we hurt thrm with words. Words carry a lot impact and when you use it harshly in an unwarranted way, it's going to be very hard to undo or unhear that. The justification that ''I'm so deeply hurt with what mom said, but I'm sure she doesn't mean it'... has a very limited shelf life and can only last this long. By doing that you're forcing the kids through a difficult emotional turmoil. Please refrain from using words that could damage your relationship. I hope you take this suggestion in a positive spirit. And if I'm wrong in assessing the situation, my apologies in advance. 😊

I am not a part of the family,but honestly I find shalab immensely manipulative in most of the episodes.... But I really understood his importance in this particular episode.... Like the way he tried to ease the situation with the airpod and meal question.... Also, the last answer I feel was to lighten up ma'ams mood, which was evidently low after brij and zoya gangibg up on you....
Brij/ Zoya duo always stick with each other though their opinions are sometimes different ..OMG Shalab is hilarious ..😂

I give A to the 3 children and the Dad. Even Veer at his tender age is way above Zarna when it comes to maturity level. All 3 children are extremely rational, logical and reasonable just like their Dad. Zoya had a point there when she brought up the fact Zarna was the youngest of her siblings. It shows. And not in a positive way.
I don't think brij is in the wrong here but i understand zarna's side..its nice that moms care so much..btw all of your podcasts are really funny!!!
