Amazing video. This is how you film a tedious and frustrating car repair- long video explaining everything. I am very grateful this video is perfect. Thanks!
Thanks for the excellent video. My wife has the same car with 165k miles on it with the original plugs and I have been procrastinating replacing them, only because I’m not sure how to get to the back ones. Surprisingly, 45k miles after it was supposed to be replaced, it still passed the CA smog test 3 months ago and still drives and idles smooth. Tempted to leave it alone until it dies but after watching this video, I feel more confident to do it now.
as an electrician and hobbyist mechanic, this look pretty easy man. I didnt even know that the PCV had to be replaced. but now i do. IM CONVINCED I CAN REPLACE THE HEADGASKETS WHILE THE TOP IS OFF.
Man , I woked on GS300 with 2jz all my life and it's way easier , I was planning to buy an RX330 but after watching this I changed my mind , but appreciate the video 👍🏼
v engines placed in an engine bay sideways are always a nightmare, because it means two things: the engine bay is too small, and one side is gonna be a pain in the ass
Terrific video! Spot on. Took 4-5 hours. Could be quicker if you don't run into any problems at all along the way. Don't rush. Be patient. Definitely doable.
Yes sir it took me about 6 hours total but o had to make a couple trips to the auto parts store. But I also did the valve cover gaskets and tube seal grommets as well. Your video really helped out ! Thanks again
First time i did this job took me 4hrs..2nd time took me 1hr and half. Easier once you know how. Book time is 4hrs for this job..and i put braket bolts back as i think helps with vibration on idle..its there for a reason
@@thunderthumbz3293 i took the inlet manifold off so no need for a flex ratchet...there's 2 bolts that attatch to the back of the manifold which are difficult to get so i would start the process first with these to bolts using a flat ring spanner to break thwm lose and a 3rd that bolts to the back of throttle body. They attatch the inlet manifold to the bulkhead...once they are removed the whole process is easy as.
Awesome video! I am planning to change bank 1 ignition coils and spark plugs to improve the gas consumption. The process in your video will definitely improve the gas consumption. Thanks for sharing!
@@christopherhaak9824 Thank you for the advice. However, until this moment, the #2 & #4 coils showed misfire error code a few times. My car has 120k miles. So, I did changed all 6 coils and spark plugs last Oct. The bank 2 coils were very hard to replace. it took me over 3 hours to remove one nut on the back of manifold cover.
Isn’t it a good idea to also change the ignition coil at the same time since it’s so hard to get the them? The two bolts you didn’t put back may cause issues down the road, like rough idle. But great video! I wouldn’t even know where to start! Thank you!
Thanks Ponyo, I learned so much from your video. I just spent 4 hrs changing my spark plugs without taking the manifold off and couldn't get to one (you guessed it right in the middle of the rear!!), so I think I'm gonna break down and follow your instructions. I had the same problems taking off the clips, they broke on me. What's the puddy called that you used? I think I'll do the same thing..
Great video and I am tackling this right now. Unfortunately the 12mm on the throttle body has stripped and I can not get it off. No idea on how to move forward. Can I loosen the bolt on the other end from under the car to losen the bracket ?
This is Crazy, I got 200k miles on my 04 and No way I am taking half the car apart to change this stuff. I will keep driving until it does not drive anymore lol
I know this video was made 4 yrs ago. But I need to see the cylinder 3 and 5 wiring color on the clips. I have a misfire and found out that 1 of them wasn’t connected properly. Cross connected from a job done by previous owner of the car. Anyone know or have a pic of the wires so I can find out which one and correct the connection
thank you for the video. very clear. about to tackle the same job but have been putting it off. For the back difficult bolts, do you have to use a ratcheting flex head? or can you still get at it without the flex head mechanism
After the tuneup, my 2005 Lexus RX330 engine light and vsc light came on. It also lost power. You mentioned about engine light here. What I can do here?
Quick tip by experience, these engines give shit fuel consumption.always try to use the cruse control. Keep the throttle body and MAF clean with a clean air filter. I am getting 10.5 l/100km ... big difference
I was going to buy a 2004 RX330 with only a hundred forty thousand miles for a good price because it needs spark plugs and ignition coil. That is with the 6 codes are reading. After watching this video I can't believe someone has to go through all that just to change spark plugs PCV and ignition coil. How much does the dealership charge to do this? Maybe I won't buy this car
What kind of shit design is this. Took me 15 minutes to remove and cleaned the throttle body on my 4runner. You would have to do surgical procedure on this car for the same process.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED THE WAY HE DID THE JOB AND VIDEO. PATIENCE ,
These kind of videos is what makes the internet great!
Great instructional video. Thank you so much. I was able to do it myself. Extreamly helpful

replace it with 100K MILES SPARK PLUG
Wow Its take too much time to remove the parts and hoses...by the way I need to replace a new air filter, pcv valve...
Your removal of the three nuts in the back is masterful. It took me totally 6 hours to get them off.
Thank man. I've been working on it for one whole day. Very good instructions and the film is excellent. God bless you sir

Holy crap ! What a job. Looks doable but time consuming ! Your video was excellent !!! Thank you 🙏
Very helpful... Watched this once to start and followed along to complete all ignition coils.... Could not have done this without this help...

Hopefully you finish the job?

If your coils are not failed, there is no reason to replace them.

I have enjoyed it very much!
excellent job thank you I learned a lot to do it in my Lexus

I would have use a small zip tie works fantastic.
Put a little anti seize on the plug threads
Great video. Have you done the rear valve cover gasket? The back bolts are tricky
Don’t forget the throttle body has to be relearn by the ECM

It is call Strip Caulk
Seem like a lot of work just to get to the rear Spark plug. Just I'll just change the front 3 instead... haha

Try not to use the power ratchet on the Allen bolts until they are completely loosen.
The ecm might have to relearn check your manual
Before you take the plugs out spray around the spark plug hole please
very Impressive video The Best .
Hold it downwards when spraying
I would have change one of the hardest coils in the back, with a new denso
Great job buddy 🍻
thank you
where do the hoses at 3:15 lead to? Mine are dry rotted and I can't seem to follow them all the way.

Man you're smart. I love customer's like you.
Lmao, I just did an engine swap on mine in my driveway. Wish all I had to do was get to the back valve cover and change plugs.

Can you access the coil packs and spark plugs without removing the throttle body and all that can you access it from just by removing the cowl
@GypsyDiy i don't think so , not too much space
Does anyone have a diagram of the coil 1,3,5 color schematics? Mines crumbled to pieces and don’t wanna wire new connections on wrong.

It have to be a flex head wrench, because there no space behind there.

Check all the connections and gasket for throttle plate
Where can I find/buy strip caulk???
Man, I’m afraid to even try. I just replaced the spark plugs in a 2007 IS 250 and that was a real pain. This looks so much worse!
Push down on the wiper blades
I did this 1 time, took me 5 hours...
It wasn't that bad was it?
It’s easy, main thing if you disturb the gaskets replace them.
excellent!
Where is the idle air control valve located?
Down below the throttle body
By the way this can be clean with throttle body cleaner
I'd forget how to put it all back together.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Spray with electrical spray

goog job
Should have left it bolted down them unhooked
Replace the gasket

i think around 900. I ll think should you buy the rx330, the engine is good. And this job is not that hard, trust me. Every my dog can do this.

Fire wall 1 3 5. Front of car. 2. 4 6
Use needle nose pliers
Push down

Oil cap, not has cap 😐😐
