Thanks for info I bought myself an Ibiza Cupra .. really clean I fully checked it at official Seat dealer and all good ..love it a lot "mine is late 2014"
Had one of these for 2 years. Loved it but had so many problems with the engine and turbo. Seems like it was luck of draw with these 1.4 twincharged engine. Some owners never have a problem and some (like myself) seem to have endless. Sold it, brought a Cupra 290 and never looked back.
The DSG gearbox would fail due to a pressure accumulator housing inside the gearbox would crack and would lose pressure (the pressure accumulator holds the pressure which is used to make the gearbox change gears) so eventually over time the pressure would leak out due to the crack getting worse and it would push the mechatronics hydraulic fluid out the breather on top of the gearbox which would result in not enough pressure for the gearbox to change gear anymore hense the flashing spanner and PRNDS flashing on the dash and the sluggish shifts which people experienced and then the dealership would put this down to clutch packs and would change them and the problem would still happen down the line. It also resulted in the mechatronics frying itself pretty much due to the loss of hydraulic fluid. (Which is the same fluid used in power steering in mk4 golfs etc) You can buy a kit to replace the housing inside the mechatronics which is a permanent fix and would make the gearbox last alot longer ie. Clutches because the correct pressure is being placed on them.
I still would never buy a CAVE engine, I would only consider buying a CTHE Engine tho and I would be uprating the pressure accumulator housing as soon as possible because the DQ200 gearboxes can have this problem at anytime/mileage in there life. I have seen them happen at 10k miles and 75k miles (which happened to mine)
