The nonverbal communication between Jack and Furiosa in this sequence was so powerful. The build up with no words and no music was giving me a heart attack and I was so invested in their love. I was on the edge of my seat and could not breath this entire scene. Their connection and willingness to sacrifice for one another was stronger than any romance film. Very well done.
it took me until my third viewing to realize that praetorian jack firing the green flare was his was to tell furiosa to go on ahead to the green place without him, every viewing i get more and more out of the film it’s so amazing
I cried when he shot that flare. We know he's not in Fury Road, so we know he likely dies. Seeing him ready to sacrifice himself clued me into this sequence being how we lose him. I'm an easy crier, and I just wept all the way through this action sequence and them getting caught.
Just watched Furiosa, the movie was absolutely incredible, one of the best I have seen in a long time. The story, action, music all top notch, the cinematography was superb, beautifully shot, with various times of day, the night shots were a stand out. Chris Hemsworth absolutely stole the show as Dementus. George Miller is truly a visionary director and legend. 👏
Just watched it. Pure epicness. Best movie ofthe year and it's not even close. One of the greatest prequels ever made, maybe the greatest. George Miller always delivers.Stunning acting, story, screenplay, photography, visual effects, cinematography, music, all is amazing.Pure chills. Im going to watch it a second time too.
@@nickoloui i have seen Dune Part II 6 times , 4 in cinema and 2 at home. I Just got the blu ray in my collection. It's a stunning movie, really something out of this world, but cant hold the match against Furiosa (FOR ME, and a lot of people too). Do not talk without knowing mate, have a nice day
Love this kind of storytelling: self-explanatory, well-thought actions, that carry on the narration and the characterization. One of the best scenes of the movie.
Best sequence of the movie. Perfect meld of action and emotion without any word ; you can tell what's going on through their heads, admire their courage and strength and still feel the danger of them maybe getting separated by that ambush.
i like how instead of having a character explain whats going on, you just have a dog with a foot in its mouth to show that something is wrong. incredible way to get rid of tiresome exposition.
It should be noted that it's Dementus's dog from earlier in the film - not a random dog - that's how you know right away that Dementus struck early and is here. Really cool.
The smoothness of Fuirosa getting out of the car at @0:54 and pulling the weapon is satisfying and accurate, considering these people have survived all their lives killing other people, so they have to be efficient in their moves. At @1:05 we see Furiosa aiming at another person and the camera zooms in behind her, putting as in the position of the shooter. After that, she ducks behind cover to reload and the camera also moves aside, behind cover, cutting our vision from the targets, similar to Furiosa. The same thing happens at @1:00 Such a good cinematography at these 10 seconds.
Yes, Mr Miller, i absolutely understood that scene instantly. They did not communicate about it, but they gave themselves to each other. For days, i‘ve thought about this. Such loyalty is difficult to forget.
I loved this scene, it’s the best action scene in the movie imo. The stowaway chase is so fun and it’s as incredible as everyone says, but the bullet farm had my heart in my throat the whole time.
In addition to the storytelling, this scene was edited so flawlessly. There's so much continuity between shots that it feels like they're cutting between in-universe cameras as the action happens in real-time. It's really immersive. At 1:19 Jack shoots person above gate who falls, at 1:20 cuts to Furiosa as person falls in front of her. Same w/ flame at 1:30, 1:31. And the whole scene is edited this way. I'm trying to recall other scenes in other movies where there's an ambush and characters have to react immediately to try to save each other, but similarly there's no dialogue, just action.
Stunning. This film is just stunning. George Miller is THE all time great Director - Writer. Warner Bros dropped the ball with this masterpiece with their appalling lack of promotion and publicity.
I just rewatched Furiosa and followed immediately by Fury Road and it works so perfectly in that sequence because now you know from the start what was Furiosa doing and why she took the detour. Two impeccable movies, great everything. Furiosa should have been the best movie of the year.
I watched it a second time today and I think it was somehow even BETTER because I caught a lot more tiny little details that tied all of the MM movies together.
I also really liked my second watch. The first time I was totally caught up in the plot, so the second time I was better able to appreciate smaller moments and details
Can’t wait to see this, have never been into the Mad Max stuff. Admittedly Hemsworth’s Dementus drew me in. I watched Fury Road the other day. It was awesome. Can see why there’s a whole Furiosa origin movie. Gotta watch the older ones now and eventually this.
This was my favorite sequence of the movie. Furiosa deciding not to leave Jack and risk it all was pure badass. This is what we want from a strong female role. Anya Taylor Joy did a wonderful job as young Furiosa.
This scene is given more weight and feeling, knowing that it’s a hopeless situation for both of them if they stay. One can probably escape, but they choose not to abandon each other.
I liked the actions but I couldn’t understand why jack had to go back to fight instead of running away with Furiosa. It seems to me he had plenty of time to blow up the warring or simply abandon them and ran. Warrig needs a secret sequence to drive, so Dimentus would stuck inside until the warrig is towed. Also he would had been busy collecting food and water and might given up the persuit
I think it was because he assumed the incoming gang would have followed them if they tried to leave then? In the moment I was a bit confused too though
Door is closed and he wants Furiosa to leave. He doesn't want her to stay and potentially die there. As earlier in the movie, we understand Jack knows that Furiosa returning home is the most important purpose for her, with or without him.
@@Demystificator The door has large enough gap for him to go through, but pursuit vehicle cannot. And Furiosa had a vehicle ready on the other side for them to drive away
@@Demystificator 1.Furiosa go through the gap to aid Jack. 2. Dimentus had easier access to the gate because there isn’t a warrig blocking the way, they needed some empty road to ram the gate at full speed. 3. Dimentus may not gone pursuit if Jack and Furiosa hadn’t been the “Army of two” and destroyed the bullet farm.

I wonder if it just means green for 'go.' However, it might've been used at another point in the film that I can't remember, so I'm just trying to infer it from rewatching this clip.
I thought green for go my first watch (there’s definitely known signals for the flares they use, which we never see explicitly explained) but it also doubles as green for the green place. So it works both ways I think intentionally!
It's bloody ridiculous that this movie failed in the box office, I saw it twice in the UK (opening day and the next day). Literally, no one came (like 10or so people). Cinema is dying and it's absolutely stupid this movie is so good I could be here for hours talking about it, but disappointed no one came to see it because now its all about money 🤦
