Also my (brilliant) mentor legit *hated* people & made me interact with anyone in the front & on the phone, so I was prime viewing for creeps. They mostly stayed outside, though! 👍 Apart from the weirdoes, I loved it. Valentine's is a 3-day special level of Hell, I will admit. 😅

I’m excited for it to be over so I can start working on the florist degree. I imagine (and prey) that there’ll be less people in a flower shop then a clothing shop, which is something I would prefer. But let’s hope that Denmark (my home country) has less creeps keeping eyes on me or coworkers.

As a retail experience, floristry is much more emotionally loaded than clothing, which can be really rewarding if everything goes well because you've made someone's day special...but if something goes wrong (we had a delivery driver steal on Valentine's!) you can end up with some seriously angry people. In the case of the missing Valentine's flowers, I ended up calling a lot of angry politicians' spouses & SO's to *assure* them that their flowers had been ordered weeks before, it was a failure on our side & no, their other half did not just forget about their Valentine's flowers! 😅 Omg I did so much groveling that week, although most people I called were very gracious once they were assured of the situation. You do need good people skills, but being intuitive & empathetic is more important than being extroverted. It sounds like you're getting a great education & work preparation for being a florist...I wish you the best of luck & that you have a great time with it (& no creeps, lol)! 🖤🌿
