  • History lives in books. Ancient items wear and degrade. But there's an unsung band of heritage heroes looking after the landmarks of culture and science. Conservators from the Cambridge University Library, and institutions like it all around the world, care for some of the most precious pieces of our past. So let's find out how Chinese oracle bones, Darwin's beans, and the Spitting Image masks are all connected.

What a delightful chat. Very interesting hearing about what goes on behind the scenes to keep our aged artefacts around, although I hope that cookie wasn't too mouldy...

A really fascinating conversation; I really enjoyed the topic of teaching children to make paper! It's a great way to not just help kids becpme more inquisitive about how things are made, but also to give them a glimpse into history.
